I came on a personal trip with a quick turnaround. I wanted a place with an open pool and my first choices were fully booked. This was the WRONG place for me. There are no vending machines for fluids. Yes they leave two small bottles of water in room at check-in, but I had to walk all the way to the lobby and wait in line at the bar for 20 minutes to get bottled water. That may not sound bad. It was dark outside and 100 degrees, there are a lot of buildings here so any walk is a long walk outside. The buildings are poorly marked as are the winding sidewalks - especially at night. Everyone on balconies and walking seemed to be drinking heavily and there was marijuana smoke filling the hot unmoving air. I want to say this reminds me of one of those indoor water park family resorts in gatlinburg or something, but the drinking/weed vibe doesn’t really go with that. 🤔 It is outdated. The tv is an old box tv and changing channel was an event which took several seconds to complete. The buttons on phone do not function - meaning they aren’t programmed to call what they say they will call. They call nothing. The “Mountain View” is a parking lot view with a mountain behind it. And you won’t want to look because everyone will be right outside your window walking past. No room service. And the takeaway (Starbucks?) place with water and snacks is open only until 10:00 IN THE MORNING! I mean.... 🥴 what in the world? I understand Covid... we can pretend that delivering room service is riskier than crowding around a bar. Ok. But could you not deliver sealed items from the takeaway spot?? The pool closed at 8 pm which is too early for a huge place. And this place is huge. Parking is a challenge - think music festival overflow parking set up. They have that. I personally hated this place but the bed was clean and had nice sheets and the thermostat functioned well. It was the wrong place for this traveler.

This is an aging property. The rooms are in desperate need of a facelift. The food was really disappointing at the only open restaurant, despite the high price for such below standard food. (Apparently COVID has resulted in there being one restaurant and the bar as the only on site choice for food). The staff at the restaurant and bar were, however, very helpful and accomodating, even going so far as to bring some iced Starbucks coffee (from the closed in the middle of the day on Saturday grab and go market/Starbucks) to members of our party, The grounds are very beautiful, and give the property a lush, spacious feeling and the mountain views from the pool are fantastic. However, in the post- COVID world, the pool opens later and closes earlier (we were surprised that the pool was closed at 8 pm on a summer night in August instead of the normal 10 pm) and yet the resort fee remains $25. Since guests access to services is reduced, one might think the fee would be as well. $25 for the privilege of swimming in a pool is a bit steep. My husband and I are Hilton honors members and have stayed at many a Hilton property. This one needs some TLC.

We booked five nights here in a two queens room. The resort is lovely with beautiful grounds. It is maybe smaller than I expected? Or maybe that’s because I didn’t visit the casita area at all. Our room is spacious with plenty of room, a walk-in closet, mini-fridge, and balcony. Our room faced the interior of the resort (building 1 has a pool view) which was very nice and quiet. The odd numbered rooms have a Mountain View and the mountains are gorgeous but they also face the parking lot so I was happy with the interior view. The pool was open but the children’s pool with slide was closed Mon-Thursday which is disappointing and was not advertised. The resort is close to grocery stores and restaurants are not far. The best thing about the resort is the view and the staff (so friendly and accommodating). We decided to shorten our stay because we really wanted more of a pool experience for our teens but I would definitely stay again with just my husband.

We decided to get out of the valley for a quick weekend trip for our annual Kids Day celebration. From start to finish, we were completely impressed with the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the hotel. They paid special attention to my son and daughter (ages 4 and 5) and offered a 6pm showing of Finding Nemo in a conference room. The waterslide was their favorite part. The pool service was a bit slow, but they have a walk-up bar that is fast. The room was obviously sanitized and extremely clean. Even the carpet seemed to be freshly cleanded. Overall, this place checked all of our boxes and we can't wait to return! Don't forget, Biospehere 2 is 30 minutes away! It wasn't open, but we will be back to see it!

If you have a chance to stay at The Hilton El Conquistador Oro Valley, do it. Not only is it an amazing resort with Beautiful rooms, beautiful pool, outstanding restaurants, and fun for the whole family, but the customer service is top notch. Even during this time of Covid, that did not falter. From the bartenders and servers at the pool and restaurants, to the lobby, and concierge, everyone is just wonderful. And if you need help booking your stay or have any questions, ask for David Toler. He has been instrumental in booking me and my friends and family with the best stays. He never lets us down and always surprises us with little extras. I’ve stayed in many places around the world, and this one is in the top five.. hands down. You won’t regret it! April
