The front desk staff were crabby due to us having a large group at check in. Also I called a week ahead to try and upgrade my room because I required a microwave for heating baby bottles. I was told u could and it was on my booking. At check in the manager basically told me I’m out of luck and he didn’t care if his staff told me I was good. The same staff also told my cousin the same thing on her booking. I asked for the microwave and he told me NO! I ended up getting one from another staff member and since the manager was so I accommodating. I requested a microwave 2 years prior for the same trip and had no problem. This manager didn’t care that I had a baby I needed to heat food for. He also said there is no common area we could use to heat baby formula or food. Terrible customer service.

Hotel's Favorite
Driving up the long driveway for the first time, four year ago, with magnificent views of the mountains in the distance, I knew immediately that this was a special place. The view, the exceptional customer service and amenities that far exceed others keep my husband and I coming back again and again. Upon arrival we were greeted by Rob like we were old friends. Greeting us by name, even though he has not seen us for over three months, we felt appreciated and welcomed. Being acknowledged as honored Hilton Diamond members is important to us; loyalty goes both ways. Thank you Rob and the entire El conquistador team for making our business trip feel like a vacation. Swimming in the pool then relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of working made for a delightful evening. Be sure to try their restaurant Epazote. Breakfasts are not to be missed; freshly prepared, inventive and delicious. Please see my review for this restaurant. There were many different room types: traditional rooms, suites, casitas and even adult only areas. We have stayed in all and each were exceptionally clean, comfortable with a personality of their own. We loved the Mountain View rooms. Families seem to enjoy the first floor rooms facing the pool. All rooms had refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, large screen TV’s. Please remember that not all rooms have microwaves. The property is huge and is a true resort complete with a well appointed exercise room, bar, contemporary spa, hot tubs, pools, walking trails, golf and oh so much more. Ample complementary parking and high speed Internet are musts for us. Please keep in mind that there is a $25 Per day per room resort fee. This includes use of bicycles, bottled water, use of the pool, hot tubs, gym and more. Be sure to ask what is included at check-in so as not to miss any of the amenities. Again I thank the entire el conquistador team and a special shout out to Rob. You guys go above and beyond to make for a special stay, you are an example of great customer service.

One of the most beautiful settings ever visited. Breathtaking views. Unfortunately we were not given a view room even though most rooms have views and the hotel was not full at all. Front desk staff was NOT friendly. But other hotel staff was great. Very clean and beds very comfortable. I would stay again and ask for a view.

We spent three nights at the El Conquistador and couldn't have been happier. The resort is gorgeous and very well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and full of all types of desert plants and wildlife. The pools (of which there are four) are great, especially the adults-only pool. Service was top-notch. We had a mechanical problem with our shower, I called the front desk and maintenance was there within ten minutes to fix the problem. It was fixed minutes later. How amazing! We upgraded to one of the junior suites and the space doesn't disappoint, large living area with a variety of chairs and a couch. Food at the resort was also very good we had breakfast every morning and dinner one night. All delicious with excellent service. The cheesecake at Epazote was particularly delicious! Diamonds and Golds, note that you are entitled to a continental breakfast every morning but can get a hot plate for a $5 up-charge. While this is completely fair and meets the elite benefit, it isn't as generous as some other resorts. Spa is also lovely, we had great massages one afternoon and really enjoyed the spa's private pool. Do note that a 20% "service fee" is manditory but as a guest of the hotel, you will get 10% off of the service itself. Overall this is an excellent resort and offers all of the amenities and service that you would expect all located just minutes from the beautiful Sonoran desert.

The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. The food and drink were delicious and the pool and kids activities were very entertaining! The Casita was very clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were cozy. The food was a bit overpriced. I would have liked fresh towels, restocked coffee/toilet paper and the room trash to have been taken out during our 3 night stay.
