Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled near Oro Valley, El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort boasts a location that many find breathtaking, though some suggest it's a bit behind the times. While the cleanliness generally meets guests' expectations, there are occasional lapses in housekeeping. The amenities and rooms, although comfortable and spacious, are often noted to require updating and better maintenance. The service stands out for its friendly and professional staff, yet some guests have experienced inconsistencies. The resort's alluring atmosphere, with its inviting pool and scenic views, is a highlight, although opinions on value for money are mixed, with calls for renovations and more reasonably priced services.

I have stayed at El Conquistador many many times, and they NEVER disappoint. From the amazing views, beautiful spacious rooms, to the incredible customer service. This resort goes above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I can't say enough about the Joeys. Yes.. JOEYS... plural. Joey at the pool (Desert Springs), and Joey at the restaurant (Epizote) are both amazing. So glad they are still there. Hands down one of the many reasons I go back! Thanks again for a wonderful time.

The hotel is full of activities and energy thanks to their amazing Recreations Manager KRISTY HARVEY. She is a huge asset to the hotel team. The prime rib special at Epazote was wonderful. We chose Wednesday night for the live music in the restaurant thanks to Kristy’s Activities postings through out the hotel. We’ll be back!

Great mobility HITT circuit class with Darian daily. 7::30 or 9:30 get your day started on the right foot. Starts off with a great stretch and warm evaluation. We worked on hip mobility and core strength. Looking forward to taking the class again while in my stay.

We’ve had an excellent stay at Conquistador. There is something for everyone here. We look forward to returning. The staff has been very attentive and helpful. Today we met Rozali as she guided the Walk & Talk at the resort. She knows the grounds well and the plant life. She got us to the Linda Vista trailhead! I loved seeing the desert that closely! She also recommended Mt Lemon so we will visit that next time.

We used to love this resort, especially the casitas, but clearly 15 years have passed and they are milking it. The grounds (mostly) are beautiful, but the decor is extremely dated. We stayed in a King fireplace casita, which felt dingy and neglected (sliding door hard to open, dark, no fireplace tools or wood for the fireplace). Parking lot for the casitas was full of trash. The details made it feel like a low end motel. For example: 1) only hotel on a 35+ day trip without a microwave 2) no robes 3) cheap coffee maker. We stayed at a lot of mid-level hotels with better ones (e.g., Keurig or actual coffee pot) and Hiltons/Marriott with Nespressos. 4) Powdered creamer. I cannot remember the last hotel that had this! 5) no lotion dispenser (Tucson is dry, so lotion would have been appreciated). Had we paid $250, meh. At the $400 mark, felt they were living on their former glory. Still a beautiful place to have breakfast, and if you must stay do not “upgrade” to a casita.

A big shout out and thank you to Angelika in the gift shop. She was so friendly and helpful. She took the time to help me pick out a beautiful necklace for my sister and made sure she received it. Angelika went above and beyond! She should be recognized for her excellent customer service.

Loved our brief stay here - the resort is beautiful and our room was well-appointed. The highlight of our stay however, was the gift shop off the lobby. Stunning selection of gifts in a wide range of price points, featuring many local artisans. Angelika went out of her way to make my 12-year old son and I feel welcome, sharing stories and even gifting us a postcard stamp to be able to mail from Tucson. Would highly recommend stopping by if in the area.

Went for just one night for our wedding anniversary. The grounds and facilities were immaculate. The plants were amazing. The room was what you’d expect at a resort, clean, comfy and roomy. Arrival and check-in were easy with friendly helpful staff. I’d give the aforementioned a 4.5. I was surprised there was no resort info in the room. I had to call to find out where the ice machine was located. Nothing regarding the Spa, golf, locations of amenities like the workout room. Maybe you had to turn the tv on? I’d say my biggest issue was we found ourselves constantly waiting on service. Happy hour, dinner and breakfast, all had waiting for long periods, till you could get someone’s attention And just like another recent “expensive” steak dinner, my wife ordered medium rare and it came medium well. Very disappointing. Our waitress offered to redo, but that never works out. She did comp us some desserts, which was kind. I’d give our services experience a 2.5. I’d give breakfast food a solid 5, great omelette station cook! I’d also mention the pool situation. Ridiculous for a resort in the states. We went to breakfast at 8:30 and observed all but a few scattered lounge chairs weren’t “claimed” with towels and nobody with them…that should not be allowed.

This place is a glorified hotel… not a resort. Front desk staff seemed unhappy when checking in. Not even a “thank you” for gold status, which gets you nothing. No complimentary upgrades and I know this place had plenty of availability based on the lack of people! I asked for a late checkout and was given 1pm… when I asked for later, “Lisa” bragged about being Marriott Bonvoy titanium, which is my status with Marriott.. so I know it takes A LOT of nights over a year… strange a Hilton employee does not prefer Hilton. 😂
