The Blenman Inn is an 1878 Victorian Adobe , listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Inn is lovely with Victorian furnishings in the common areas. Our room, the Sarah Page Suite was comfortable with 2 queen beds and a sitting area, a separate room with a day bed and access to front patio. We had a clawfooted bathtub with a shower.
This bed and breakfast has several rooms and a modest breakfast consisting of apples and bananas, some kind of cake, and cereal and juice. The Inn offers coupons to 2 areas restaurants for breakfasts which we did not use.
The pleasantly landscaped yard includes a pool. There is free dedicated parking in the lot next door.
The gated yard to the property is locked from 7 PM to 7 AM , as is the front door.
If you are out between those hours, you need to unlock the gates and lock them back up. This is NOT because it is in a bad area - it is more customary.
WE enjoyed walking to a local brewery and just walking the neighborhood. We enjoyed our 3 day stay here very much.

We loved our stay at the Blenman Inn so much that my husband wrote a poem about it. (See below) Margo and Rob were wonderful hosts who were generous in accommodating all our needs. We stayed in the Nicole Elizabeth Suite which had amazing amenities- a large comfortable bed, jacuzzi and wet bar, a table and chairs near the window and private access to the beautiful backyard. There you will find lounge chairs, a table with umbrella, a pool and hot tub, beautiful plantings and birds enjoying the palm trees and flowers all around.
Margo gave us a tour of the inn and told us about the history of this beautifully restored house with exquisite woodwork and carvings, skylights and wonderful art. Each room is different and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was large, and we had plenty of hot water. There were two ceiling fans in the room, and the temperature was quite comfortable.
The location is ideal so that we hardly needed to use our car. We took walks to see many of the murals that adorn so many of the buildings in Tuscon, explored the historic neighborhood of the barrio, and had an easy walk to the nearby restaurants. The inn offers a continental breakfast that was quite adequate, so that we used the $10/day coupons toward lunch at our favorite café at the historic Congress Hotel. They have a lovely outdoor space with heaters if needed and music on the weekends and in the evening. I would recommend reservations at most restaurants on the weekends and even during the week in season. Tuscon is a wonderfully lively and diverse city, and we look forward to coming back. The Blenman Inn is where we will stay! Coincidentally, this is the inn where my brother and sister-in-law stayed when they got married in secret 20 years ago! They looked at the pictures and said it's even more beautiful now.

My husband and I are frequent travelers and when possible enjoy staying at Bed and Breakfasts. The Blenman Inn is at the top of our list for great experiences. The Inn is beautifully restored and cared for and the Innkeepers are extremely service oriented. Our room was large, well stocked and the king size bed very comfortable. Continental breakfast was extensive and in addition a daily $10 per person voucher was given for one of 3 nearby restaurants, all of which were very good. We spent 6 nights at the Blenman while we explored Tucson and visited with friends and found the Inn to be the perfect location. We give this Inn our highest recommendation! Janice and George

The Royal Elizabeth Inn, also known as Blenman House Inn, was once a favorite in downtown Tucson. Having stayed at the B&B in the past, it was always a pleasant experience. The recent stay was dreadful. It was a cold night, in the 30’s, and our drafty room was frigid. The thermostat was inoperable. The manager advised the entire inn heating and a/c was now controlled remotely by the owner so he was in no position to improve the heat. The inn now no longer serves breakfast (an oddity for a bed and BREAKFAST); we were provided with breakfast vouchers at an AC Marriott, a nearly ten minute walk away. The erosion of service was disappointing. At a minimum, the inn should change it’s website to reflect no onsite breakfast and other amenities commonly offered at most inns of this nature. We will never stay there again.

We are now under new ownership and we welcome you to come again to visit, also see all the upgrades and changes we have made recently! :). We invested in 2 new HVAC units this summer to address the heating and cooling at the Inn. We also do serve a continental breakfast in addition to supporting local downtown restaurants with a voucher system "The Nook" and "The Cup" are new partners with us and we give out $10 per person per nights stay. Many guests like this option because, if they choose to sleep in, they are not told when to have breakfast it also helps to support local business' during this difficult time. Please view our new website: TheBlenmanInn.com. Thank you. MC

Every guest in every room for the duration of my miserable 4 day stay was extremely disappointed and unhappy. All the rooms on one side of the building were complaining that the heat was too strong while all the rooms on the other side got no heat. My room was freezing. The first room I stayed in was near the kitchen. It was sold to me as a lovely room that the owners stay when they visit. Well after I checked in and paid I was told that at 6am the inn keeper starts to bake and prepare breakfast ( think airport cheap junk food) while other guests come in and out of the kitchen all hours of the day. The room was tiny, no closets and The shower knob broken, I had 1 min of very hot water and cold water after and No plummer was called to fix it before the next guest checked in. The next day I moved to a bigger more "lux"room that got no heat at all (till I pressed for a space heater that was delivered) the shower was a drop at a time that took 40 min to wash my hair. Other guests complained as well that it was the same slow to non water pressure in their showers. My mattress was old and curved from use.
The rug felt dusty. The inn keeper is temperamental and the owners careless and cheap while charging top rates per night. I can continue to describe the faults but will simply add Save yourself from booking this inn. There are many wonderful similar old inns in Tucson that cost less and are most enjoyable and have wonderful caring generous hosts that put so much love in. After my experience I tend to think that the reviews I read about The Blenman Inn must have been written by the inns circle of friends as I can not imagine anyone liking their stay especially when every guest that stayed there during my visit stated that they will never book it again and how much they look forwards to their check out.

Dear FredericaSmy, We appreciate the time you have taken to review our property and are grateful for every viewpoint expressed. However, your opinion of our property is disappointing, inaccurate and I would hope you will recant your review. It is too bad that you did not enjoy your stay. We humbly accept your opinion. The Blenman Inn has a fabulous reputation and over 400 reviews that are documented as such. You must be mistaken about the room by the kitchen "The Blenman Study" is endeared by many of our prior guests and one of our favorites. It has a lovely walk in closet with plenty of room and a spacious private patio. Our Innkeepers serve a delicious Continental breakfast, 24/7 specialty coffee and tea bar is included. In addition, we currently support local restaurants in the city center with gift vouchers for our guests to enjoy like you received, which was not mentioned within your review, as a gift from us for an hot breakfast/brunch. None of the other guests you stated "were extremely disappointed and unhappy", Sharon, or at least none have contacted us. You were miserable prior stepping onto our property per all of our conversations, prior to booking your room. Oh, except the first one when you originally booked 2 weeks with us, then it dwindled to 3 days and then later an additional night. We know the elegance of the inn speaks for itself and is one of a kind, as is the capability of our staff. I only wish that Inns and B&B's could also rate their guests as well. Most everyone who stays with us enjoys their time and have and stated they will be repeat customers, we are so grateful for those who appreciate our service and unique space we proudly call The Blenman Inn. The Ryan Patrick room you stated that you were "moved to" was the original room you booked and it has a brand new king bed and luxury quilted mattress is lovely, not sunken but solid. Our Innkeepers vacuum and clean thoroughly between every guest that stays and upon request during each day of your stay. Our sheets are luxury high quality hotel grade and we pride ourself on not being "careless or cheap' as your slander suggests. In addition, our daughter left another job and came over to test the water and it was running fine and hot. Video proves you were changing the thermostat that actually would have messed up the other two thermostats - so in actuality, you most likely made it worse for our other guests. We recently had a professional HVAC team come and inspect all of the room's temperature so that if there is a problem it will be attended to ASAP and additional special sensors will be installed through the house to assure our guests a more comfortable stay. Play nice, its a small world and what comes around goes around. We hope you have peace, remember no matter where one goes, there they are...

From the moment you step onto the property at Blenman Inn you can feel how special a lodging this is. Once in the courtyard, you enter the inn via ornate Victorian Doors. Greeted by the keeper, your welcome is warm and personal. Your eyes are wide as you admire the intricate woodwork, architectural details, and finely selected decor that take you back to a gentle era. Then you see your room...I stayed in the rose room, a large fancifully decorated space with a comfortable bed and bright bathroom. Lots of little amenities enhance your stay. It feels as though the world is far away as you enjoy this respite. On top of the charming rooms, an outside pool and hot tub let you soak in the Arizona sunshine. The location enables you to walk to hotels, sites, and churches. Next time I am in Tucson, I am staying here!

This is a unique and lovely property and a perfect place to stay to explore downtown Tucson. It could be so much better if the owners/management put things right. As another review noted, they do not serve breakfast, so it is not a B&B. Putting aside that inconvenience, the vouchers provided may work okay at the AC Hilton, but are not quite sufficient for breakfast at 5 Points and I do not mean just for the gratuity. The room we stayed in was amply sized and the en suite bath was fine. However, I do question the housekeeping, and the bizarre policy of changing bedding only once per week or between guests is wholly unacceptable as well as unhygienic. I will also note that the sheets were badly pilled and worn, and should never have been used for paying guests. The bedding policy is also not disclosed on their website, and I only saw it on a small typewritten note in the bathroom. Oddly, the on-site attendant denied that was the policy, but why then is there a note to that effect in the bathroom. Another very bad policy is turning off nearly all of the lights at 10 pm. Returning from dinner one finds an unwelcoming dark building, which also requires negotiating three locks to enter. While I would prefer not to record these criticisms, I do so because the owners as well as future guests should be aware there are things that need attention and fixing.

We have also instituted much better cleaning policies including all CDC recommended guidelines, done much restoration, painting and all new linens, etc. Thank you and please come visit us again! MC

When we travel we tend to seek out the intimacy and comfort of inns rather than the ubiquitous hotel chains. Our stay at The Blenman was memorable on many levels and we strongly recommend it to those who want to feel more at home when they're away.

The inn itself and the grounds were spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated with period decor consistent with its listing on the National Registry of Historic places. Absolutely everything a traveler could want while away from home was available, and the staff made it clear that their highest priority was guests' comfort. We especially appreciated the climate-control system; despite the searing Tucson sunshine, the temperature and circulation in our room was perfect and easily controlled. Visually, the Blenman is stunning.

Occupying a city lot footprint, the inn nonetheless offers a pool patio with plenty of room to relax in privacy and enjoy coffee or happy hour accompanied by trickling water and twinkling lights. The neighborhood is a couple block off the main drag, the street is quiet, and we felt no qualms exploring the area on foot on a weeknight. A quirky little bar next door was the perfect nightcap getaway.

We had never been to Tucson before, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Charming urban neighborhoods, nice people, creativity all around. We felt an abundance of inclusivity and strong sense of community, and can understand why people find themselves there and never want to leave.

We were so impressed with The Blenman and would absolutely recommend visiting the nice people there.

The Blenman Inn is beautiful. You can tell this from the pictures! This is a rare hospitality experience where the owners and staff are finding ways to do more to make your visit exceptional. Start with the personal welcome and tour from Kristen including the pool and hit tub , the beverage and drink bar and kitchen access, the lights on in your room and the seasonal welcome gift. Then you settle in with your drink in the couch and notice the bouquets of fresh flowers, the seasonal decor, the fire in the fireplace. We chatted with Rob, one of the owners, who took time to converse…and he was lovely. We got great dinner ideas too! The morning continental breakfast was very nice, and we were given vouchers for a breakfast spot downtown. Will we be back? Oh yes!!

Beautiful late 1800's home that was a bed and breakfast for many years and now is an inn. Very nice large room off the outdoor patio area with pool and hot tub. We were warmly greeted, shown our room and location of various amenities. We were also provided with vouchers for breakfast, which is a good idea amid the COVID restrictions. The beds were comfortable and room was quite for a good night's sleep. Coffee bar right outside rooms to enjoy in the morning. It was a bit cold in the room given winter time and in historic properties with 12 foot high ceilings, I'm sure it is a challenge to heat. It was nice to sit in the lobby/sitting area with the fireplace to enjoy an evening cocktail or morning coffee. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for thinking of The Liz as a place for holiday gatherings. The Mansion is rented for the dates you requested, but we hope to meet you another time. You'll love this property. As much as we love pets, the historic nature of The Liz prevents us from extending our rooms to our beloved furry friends.
