If I wanted to watch CNN news I would have stayed at home! I was playing one of the table games and they had it on the tv right above. I asked the pit boss to change the channel, she didn’t. I told her I come to the casino to escape and relax. I don’t care if there is an in going impeachment of the president! Give us a break already! Geez!
Terrible service, after a 5 hour plane ride and checking in at 11:00 PM I had the Manager on Duty (Amanda) for the hotel tell me If I didn't like their policies I could find a different hotel to stay at! Seriously? What language and or service is that for a manager to tell a customer. The rudeness continued. The amount of security was more then I've noticed in any other establishment and it took me just a short time to understand that it wasn't because of the casino it was strictly to "catch" a person with their mask down below the nose or didn't put it back on quick enough after a meal. Casino Del Sol you won't get any more money from me and I advise any other person not to expect any service except rudeness from this hotel/casino. Inconvenience of Logistics' is another subject in it self.…
My sisters & I visited down in Tucson with a couple cousins just for an overnight stay & we really enjoyed our stay at Casino Del Sol... we stayed at the Estrella side which is a part of the larger Casino/hotel/resort. Rooms were beautiful and clean with coffee makers and refrigerators in each of our rooms. Beds were super comfy with loads of pillows! Plenty of towels also. The security was nice as well with no one but guests getting into the hotel area... they also took temperatures of every person coming in the door which, during this pandemic makes guests feel more confident that it’s a safe place to visit. Everyone is required to wear a mask at all times inside the hotels/gaming area. There were lots of options inside the casino to eat and of course lots of gaming going on... really anything you wanted to do, tables, cards or slots- even a big bingo room. We stuck to the slot area and there was plenty of staff cleaning and sanitizing the areas along with servers delivering drinks when needed. We ate at the Italian place & it was delicious. Service was great! We also ate at their 24 hour coffee shop and again enjoyed our meal options. We will definitely visit this place again when we want to stay local but feel like we are out of town... …
The spa and pools are closed, which is not at all easy to tell by looking at their website. I phoned the spa to book an appointment in advance of our arrival, and though I only go voicemail, there was nothing that indicated the spa wasn't open. Those two features were half the reason we chose this location. The casino was interesting because everyone was wearing a mask, and there was extra security to enforce it, but the machines weren't cleaned between users, so I'm not sure how valuable enforcing masks are when germs are all over hands, etc. The staff were generally fine, but the signage was poor, and staff seemed annoyed to answer questions. For example, the middle bar area was designated as a smoking area, and you could sit at a fully stocked bar that appeared to be open. It wasn't. Staff would come and get drinks from it, but when you went to the bar to order, they would growlingly say that you had to go to another area. I get that it's annoying to get asked the same question over and over again, but maybe that means you should put up a sign! They also require hotel guests to wear cheesy plastic wrist bands so non-guests don't go up into the hotel. It makes it feel like you're at a frat party rather than a resort, because they're cheap and uncomfortable. Also, different staff didn't seem to understand how they worked. One told us the color changed every day, so we could take it off before bed and get a new one with the new color in the morning. Then someone else said it's the same color and shouldn't be removed. Then someone else said we would be charged if we needed to get one replaced more than once during a stay. Give it a pass until everything is open and business is back to normal.…
My husband and I finally decided that it was time to get out and try to have some fun. With the heat, outside really wasn’t an option for us. We thought we would give the casino a try. We walked in to find a temperature checkpoint for anyone entering the building and machines spaced. Literally they have spaced every machine, added shields in between machines, taken a ballroom and converted it into a new play area. I have never felt safer! New satellite bars where placed in several areas to ensure you could get drinks without a need to wait in line or socially distancing. You couldn’t help but notice continual cleaning of all machines at all times either. It was fun, we had great service and would highly recommend to anyone!
