We ended up staying at this inn because all the other hotels and motels were full that night, and another hotel suggested we try the Water Street Tavern & Inn. We're embarrassed to say that our expectations weren't very high. Boy, were we wrong! From the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed. The inn keeper was very welcoming! Our... More

The Water Street Inn is a wonderful, clean place to stay when in Lubec, Maine. The owners are so accommodating and the rooms were well appointed and clean. Bonus - there is a common area with a kitchenette and living area with a terrific view of the dock. You can bring a beverage from the bar below or on your... More

We visited the restaurant after driving 6 hours from Canada to Campobello island. Decided to stop in before we crossed the boarder and soooooo glad we did! Both dishes were absolutely amazing - down home cooking but with sooo much yumminess! We will be back - and o now have a new love for greens beans and garlic! - YUM!!!... More

The Water Street Tavern strikes a nice balance between foodie haven and local pub. The space is nicely laid out, with the quality feel afforded by white linen tablecloths and a nice wine list. At the same time, the service is friendly and approachable. The menu is flavorful and reasonably priced. The mushroom risotto is a particular favorite of mine.... More

We stayed here in August of 2015. We arrived early on a Saturday morning (we were supposed to arrive Friday night). Our room was ready for us with a note welcoming us. The room was small but beautiful and comfortable. The decor was great, hardwood floors, a comfortable king-size bed and a pull out couch. Shortly after we arrive the... More

Best meal I had in Lubec. Enjoyed a late dinner until closing. Enjoyed visiting with friendly staff and owners. Nice atmosphere sitting by at or near the bar, in the front window, or towards the back overlooking the harbor. There were tables for two as well as booths for 8 or more.

Literally EVERYTHING about this place blew my mind, so I don't even know where to begin! Dinner at the restaurant upstairs (by the same name and owner) was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Great flavor. Great views of Lubec Narrows. Great service. Nice bar. The owner is incredibly nice, outgoing, and provides the best service. Every morning, he delivers (through the backdoor... More

You could say that I didn't have high expectations for staying above a Tavern in this small, little town, but I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! Our room (#3) was cute, charming, and clean. The common area was also very nice with great views. We were the only ones staying here this particular night, so that meant we were... More

We liked the inn's location and view. The amenities were pleasant enough including coffee, muffin and yogurt for breakfast. Unfortunately the walls between the rooms were not insulated and you could hear EVERY sound our neighbors made--kind of off-putting. The dinner at their restaurant was very good and the service most hospitable

Super location and view plus one of the best muffins I have ever had - based on that muffing I wish the restaurant had been open for dinner when we were there. The host was super accommodating and room was cozy - did I mention the view!!
