Lubec was our favorite Maine town. There is no glitz and glamor here. It is an old-school Maine fishing village. We found it refreshing and beautiful. We stayed in a loft apartment in one of 3 cottages right on the harbor. It was very clean and comfortable and the view was special. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Inn’s restaurant. The restaurant was full of locals. Full lobster dinner for $34. Crab cakes that were 100% crab. Wild blueberry pie and pancakes. The restaurant is very informal and right on the water/harbor. Service was very personable. We did the whale watching excursion and saw 3 whales. The boat is small so it is an intimate experience. We went to the Quoddy House lighthouse which is the easternmost spot in the USA. Highly recommend if you like off the beaten path.

Our room was ready when we arrived. Check in was easy. We were in the Sea Mist room in the mail building. Very nice view. Maybe it was the room, but it smelled really bad. I walked to the local IGA to buy some air freshener, which helped. Maybe it was the slow drip coming from the ceiling that was the cause of the smell. The poor lady next door had a bad cough, which meant we had to listen to it all night. Without an air conditioner to run in order to drown out the noise it was hard to sleep. I wound up running white noise on my iPad which helped. The bed was comfortable.

I hate to give a poor review because the owners and employees are really nice and hardworking. Stayed in the seagate room that was connected to walk out deck which would have been great if it wasn't connected to the gathering room where anyone can go. A lady sat out there till 9:30 p.m. gabbing on her phone. You could hear every word. You can see right into the room next door when you walk out there. No privacy. The room itself has no charm or character of what it once was, sardine factory. The bed seemed like a full size and old. No t.v. and bathroom smelled of urine. No a/c and no fan in sight. Don't know how hot it gets in summer. Maybe a different room?????

What an incredible place to stay. I was solo in a bery large two bedroom suite. Clean, with a sunlight in the large kitchen, two seating areas, and a lovely balcony looking out on the bay. The attached restaurant is superb (although sadly they closed early the night I stayed, the breakfasts were outstanding). I would come to Maine again just so I could enjoy this place a bit longer.

Was a little confused when I called to reserve a room as they asked me to pick a room but it appeared all of the rooms were the same. As it turned they aren’t. We were in Sea Mist. It did not have a patio deck but that ended up ok. 2 of 3 windows could be opened wide so we got a nice breeze coming in and you could clearly hear all of of the ocean sounds coming off the bay. Room was clean, bed was ok. Enjoyed the king sized bed. The room had two comfortable chairs by the windows so we could enjoy the view and the breeze.
