Savvy travelers looking for gracious accommodations in Downeast Maine know that Peacock House is THE place to stay. Located in the easternmost town in the US, Peacock House was built by a ship captain in 1860 and and has been a Bed and Breakfast since 1989. The inn has seven well-appointed suites (with king beds) and standard-sized rooms (with queen beds), each with a private bath. There are also four common rooms on the first floor where you can mingle with other guests or find a more quiet place to relax. The outdoor deck is also a welcoming space for our guests to enjoy. The inn is conveniently located with four blocks of shops and restaurants. You'll be greeted each morning by wafts of a delectable breakfast mingled with the aroma of locally roasted coffee. Savor a breakfast that's created to please both the eye and palate. We enjoy providing foods that are locally sourced, including our signature Downeast turkey sausage, made right here at the inn. Experience the rugged coast of the Bay of Fundy with its dramatic 20 foot tides, explore renowned hiking trails, and visit nearby beaches and lighthouses. Whales, seals, bald eagles and Atlantic puffins are among our local summer residents. Campobello Island, the summer home of Franklin Roosevelt is less than three miles from the inn. Lubec is also the home of Summer Keys, an adult music and arts program. Come to Lubec to escape the hustle and stress of life and and to experience "Maine as it used to be" in this authentic fishing village. Visit Peacock House and experience why tripadvisor reviewers have given it the highest quality ratings in the area. You'll be glad you did.

We thoroughly enjoyed this hidden gem in Lubec Maine. Everything and the hosts were superb plus. The house is beautiful - our room so comfy & welcoming with the best of the best bedding and toiletries. The place is very clean and inviting. There are reading, music and relaxing rooms all for the guests to use. Breakfast was very interesting, well presented & tasty. The place is like it’s out of a magazine. We will definitely be back perhaps summer 2020 for another few days. The town was very quiet in September but very easy for walking. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thanks

We stayed in the Margaret Chase Smith room. This was spacious, immaculate, and had several amenities available. The mattress and sheets were wonderful, and I haven't slept that well in a long time! The food was presented by our hosts and was delicious and healthy, especially the baked pears! Mary Beth and her husband are sweet and helpful, and we would gladly return to Peacock house in the future.

We had a very pleasant 2 night stay at Peacock House. Mary-Beth and Jim were fabulous hosts and made our stay one of the most comfortable and enjoyable B&B experiences we have ever had. The property is immaculately presented and has lots of different spaces to share with other guests or just to have a quiet moment by yourself. Jim has an extensive music collection which guests can use and there is a library of interesting books. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and presented with style each morning. Don’t worry about sleeping in as Mary-Beth will give you a holler so you won’t miss breakfast. We highly recommend this charming B & B.

My wife and I had only one night at Peacock House. I wish we could have stayed longer. Our hosts were very friendly and attentive. The weather was quite bad when we were there in November which made our time inside even more special. The bedroom and other rooms were all spotlessly clean. There was a fantastic array of books and magazines to keep us entertained. The breakfast was great. There was an excellent selection of music to choose from. Also a piano and guitar to use. I could not recommend this bnb more highly.

An off-season visit to Lubec was highlighted by our four day stay at the Peacock House. Coastal hiking in many nearby parks and preserves is superb. At Peacock House, warm and friend hosts and excellent breakfasts.. Every detail of comfort for the traveler has been considered. Good internet. Grand piano. TV in rooms. Varied public rooms filled with beautiful antique furniture and comfy sofas too. What more could one ask for?
