Our charming inn is located in Providence, one of the oldest cities in the United States. Located within walking distance to attractions, local shops, restaurants, and universities. This historic 4-story brick Italianate mansion was built in 1858 and renovated in 2003 into a beautiful 14-room bed and breakfast. Come stay with us and explore the Ocean State!
Our welcoming guest rooms offer private bathrooms and include high-definition flat-screen televisions with cable, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, housekeeping & parking.
All rates include a hot plated breakfast. Our continental buffet offers homemade pastries, yogurt parfait with homemade granola, locally roasted coffee from Borealis Coffee Company, and much more!
Enjoy our common room that is available to the guests 24/7. The common room offers a comfortable sitting area, which is a perfect place to enjoy a warm drink next to the woodstove. The common room is stocked with infused water, tea, and coffee along with a variety of honor system items including Yacht Club Soda.
The Christopher Dodge House bed & breakfast is operated by local knowledgeable staff. They are happy to offer recommendations for dining and local attractions. They look forward to getting to know you during your stay.
The Christopher Dodge house is a lovely B&B. We stayed for 5 nights. The positives: location, parking, light, sunny rooms, comfy bed, nice common area w/snacks all day, very clean, price reasonable. Things that could use improvement: breakfast: overall it was very good. Excellent Borealis Coffee but the muffins were cold and a little stale, the bread for the avocado toast and the bruchetta toast was just white bread. It got soggy quickly and did not hold up well. Why not use a good multigrain bread? In a city full of amazing bakeries you have bread everywhere. But the white bread was a real YUK. If you are stair challenged then this is not the place for you. Overall I give the CD House a solid B+/A-. I would stay again for sure and hope that they have a new bread source. Everyone was friendly and helpful. …
I usually don't like bed and breakfast places but this house was just lovely. Each room was spacious and just as the pictures show. The beds were so comfortable and the view we had of the trees and state house was a huge bonus. Breakfast was just right and we loved the very attentive staff. Everyone we encountered was so nice. This house was fully booked for the weekend we stayed and you would have never known, it was peaceful and quiet. There was plenty of parking too. If you have challenges with stairs and carrying your own cases, then don't fault the owners, it's not for you. This is a house not a hotel with a lift.
The location of the Christopher Dodge House was perfect and easy to find. The owner was so nice and welcoming. She showed us where our room was and the common area and the breakfast dining area. Our room was perfect with a king size bed and a gas fireplace. Perfect for a chilly January afternoon/evening. They had all the amenities you would need and a lovely room where you could get beverages and snacks 24/7. There was onsite parking and the price for the stay was really reasonable. I would definitely recommend and go back to the Christopher Dodge House again in the future.
My girlfriend and I loved our stay here - the (spotlessly clean) room had a lovely fireplace, soft sheets on a king bed, and fully equipped compact kitchen, plus ensuite bathroom. Plus a view of the RI state house from the window. We found it to be a perfect launch point for our exploration of the area, with a walk along the Woonasquatucket River. The staff were kind and accommodating. They went out of their way to help make our stay enjoyable.
Terrific staff- friendly, informative and helpful. We had 4 rooms as part of a family wedding nearby. Adult kids (late 20’s and early 30’s) with parents (60’s) enjoyed the common room and the elegant rooms. Fantastic beds! Lovely daily breakfast. Will definitely come back to stay!
Charming space and surroundings in a city with a rich history. The checkin was easy. The breakfast choices of yogurt parfait, avocado toast on delicious brioche bread, Canadian bacon and crust less spinach quiche were all good. The beautiful Italianate Mansion from 1858 has character!
We loved the Christopher Dodge House! I felt as if I were transported back in time to another ERA and loved it. The rooms were beautiful, the breakfast and dining room experience was excellent and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating! The only negative is there is no elevator and the stairs were difficult for me after having a double knee replacement. I would definitely stay here again!
This was our third visit to Providence and third stay at the Christopher Dodge House. It is by far the best B&B. Our favorite room is on the ground floor with a king size bed and cozy fireplace. We look forward to hot breakfast served every morning, along with all of the baked goods, etc. It is wonderful in every season. Lovely Christmas decorations are all over the Inn right now.
We stayed at the Christopher Dodge House for our honeymoon and had a phenomenal time. The room was beautiful and vintage, though with modern amenities. The breakfast was delicious. And the location couldn't be beaten (It took me only 8 minutes to walk to the Capitol). The staff was so kind and even left us a personalized card welcoming us. We hope to stay again!
We live in Boston and were in Providence for an evening event. We wanted a nice place to stay the night. By far the nicest B&B we have been in in the area. Very friendly, nice room and good breakfast. It's close to the highway and you can hear some noise but it was muted by the trees. If you are very sensitive ask for a room on the other side.
