When we arrived last Saturday evening at Marriott Providence Downtown, there was a party going on. Therefore, our 2 double-bed room was not available and we got a room with a king bed (and later a rollaway was brought in). We arrived late, 2 adults and an 8-year-old, and we were so exhausted, but it was what it was. Dannica, who greeted us at the front desk was determined to make the situation better. After comping us for breakfast for the weekend, she promised a surprise treat for my little girl. The next evening, she delivered. We received lovely cookies and ice cream, which was left at our room while we were in the pool. It was a lovely treat; however, what really touched us was a beautiful note that Dannica left us---handwritten, in calligraphy---with a little pink bird drawn in the corner. (Note that Dannica is a graduate students with many talents!) Then when we went for dinner in the restaurant, we had the good fortune to meet Jessica, our waitress! Dannica told Jessica what happened, and Jessica also offered up special yummy treats (specifically macaroons---yum!). Lesson learned: It's ok to always hope for the best, because sometimes it happens. What a wonderful lesson for my daughter. Dannica and Jessica are bright stars--2 young women who are both kind and super-professional. Thank you for making our time in Providence so great!

Front desk was nice the rooms were ok. Nothing great and the tv wouldnt work. We called the front desk 3 times before someone came up to fix it. The pool was decent but the hot tub had no bubbles and was warm at best NOT hot.

Recently stayed for Waterfire event and to enjoy the pool and bar. The good was front desk were very helpful and professional. Buffet breakfast was a good variety, but weekend we were there it was very crowded with a hockey tournament, long lines for anything cook to order. The bad was although rooms were nicely renovated, it was VERY noisy early in the morning, there is absolutely no sound insulation. People just entering and leaving their rooms woke us up and was so loud. Also , the pool area is nice but the entire area is open to the public, for the bar presumably, but it would be nicer if they allowed only guests/ required a room key to get into the pool. Seemed to be some people there that weren't guests.. The ugly was the view from our room. It was looking out over a very unsightly roof/mechanical area for the events. Not sure I'd return.

Clean and comfortable room and very friendly and helpful staff. The front lounge is well utilized. Location is walking distance to places to eat or shop and several universities but nothing is just adjacent adjacent to the hotel. Free WiFi. Many seemed to be enjoying the pool although we did not get the chance.

During a recent business meeting, I was asked to make some last minute changes - Zach Pisano was awesome, as were Rene and Racan. Zach checked in with me throughout the day to make sure we had everything we needed. Carolina Villella was great to work with while contracting the meeting. There were I didn't like about the Ocean State meeting rooms, however, the food and service made up for those minor preferences. The hotel was quite nice with a large lobby and lovely pool area. My meetings were successful in part due to the venue.
