Stayed for two nights and very happy with stay. Older hotel that has been maintained and updated. Got a room on newer addition with a refrigerator. Front desk was helpful and knowledgeable on area and attractions. Parking garage next door, ana you can walk to most downtown eateries and the river walk. Would stay again.

Hi there! Thank you for the review, and for choosing us to stay with in PVD! Our historic façade is unlike that of any other hotel in downtown Providence, but don't let that fool you - our spacious guests rooms and ensuites are warm, modern, and inviting! We're happy to hear you picked a guest room with a mini-fridge; not every room has one, but we always have additional down in maintenance should a guest ever need one. Our front desk has gone through some extensive training over the past month about what's going on in Downtown - many organizations and companies have announced projects, festivals, and events that we think our guests would love to know about when they're in town. And if you're not looking for a crowd, we know of plenty of culturally and historically relative activities you can take part in as well! And you're right, there are plenty of amazing restaurants we're lucky to call our neighbors - Congress Tavern, Circe, Capriccio's, Layali - just to name a few that are steps from our own front door! And you're welcome to drive anywhere downtown; the one-ways can get a little confusing, but it's a relatively "drivable" city. But if you don't want to, we don't blame you. Our valet services are partnered with the Arcade Parking Garage right next door - so you car is in safe hands inside their private garage while you spend your days worry-free. Again, thank you for the review - and we look forward to your return! Reid

Hotel's Favorite
This was our first time in Providence, and I chose this hotel based on the reviews and the fact that we often choose Hilton hotels. The lady at check-in was very friendly. Our room was right by the elevator which I generally do not prefer, but this hotel was very quiet other than the heating and cooling system which had lots of vibrating and knocking. (We were in a king room on the ninth floor which did not have a fridge or microwave but our adult kids on the other side of the building (which you'll realize they combined two side-by-side buildings in this historic downtown to make the hotel) did have these amenities. I just wish I had noticed this while booking the rooms and will from now on... The breakfast was self-served, prepackaged items with two hot items available each morning which is served by an employee. We really liked the location in the financial district of downtown. There's a Starbucks half a block away, a Ben & Jerry's and other restaurants close to Brown University (on Thayer). To self park your car, it is $30 or you can choose valet which is $38. I did notice a nearby public parking garage so that may be worth looking into for those who don't want to pay that price. Because we were visiting New England for almost two weeks we had packed light and did our laundry every other day or so. It was interesting to see the prices at various Hilton hotels. It was $1.50 for each load whether you used the washer or dryer (meaning $3.00 total for a full load). It was actually the cheapest of all our hotels. Other than the noisy heating/cooling system, I still really liked this hotel and would stay here again. I am sharing some fun features of it with it being in a historic building.

Hi there Leslie! Thank you so much for your kind review and feedback! We always recommending giving us a call directly so we can ensure you're booking the room best suited for you - we'll even bring a minifridge or microwave to you if you don't wish to move (some people like to stay in the same room number every time they come). Since you've joined us in July we've transitioned back to full-self-service breakfast - with those famous Hampton waffles & all the works! And we're so happy to hear you went out on the town - our location right in the heart of the financial district makes exploring the Creative Capital so easy. And none of us here have ever thought to look into how much of a bargain our on-site laundry is! I am sorry that the HVAC unit in your room was a little bumpy, but the good news is if you plan on joining us again we've recently gone through and handled some routine maintenance on the building's many units - your room can be at the exact temperature you want and quiet all night long! All the best, Reid

The staff was exemplary and assisted us with any needs that we required. We took advantage of the shuttle service which dropped us off to an Italian restaurant in Federal Hill and picked us up for a return to the hotel. The hotel itself was clean and properly secured and sanitized for Covid. The location is perfect to experience Waterfire (only two blocks away), enjoy the college hill area and enjoy downtown Providence.

Hi there! Thank you for your patronage, and taking the time to leave this review. I'm so happy to hear our staff was able to accommodate you - our amazing team of front desk agents pride themselves on our Hampton mentality of "making you happy makes us happy!" And I see you took advantage of our complimentary downtown shuttle for a night out in the historic Italian district! There's so much culture, fun, and most importantly: food, in Federal Hill - and while we realize we're no right door we happily offer a 5-minute ride in our shuttle! And our staff's favorite aspect of our hotel is it's prime location! Right in the heart of the financial district, the heart of downtown Providence - and you said it yourself: we're steps away from the lower levels of College Hill. Not to mention how much we all missed the Waterfire celebrations last year! We're so happy they're back on, just another wonderful thing to add to your to-do list while you're in town. Be well, and come see us again! Reid

We stayed at this hotel for one night and will not return. The tv did not work in our room and there was a large hairball in the bathroom when we arrived. It looked like someone cleaned a brush and missed the trash. I guess housekeeping missed it as well. Gross. The room did not feel clean. The hairdryer felt sticky and the hotel has made no modifications to housekeeping during covid, which is something I have noticed and appreciated at other Hampton Inn locations in the past year. For example, other hotels have a plastic bag over the tv remote and disinfectant wipes dispensers in the lobby for people to use in their room when they arrive. The room was far from sanitized. The hotel lot was full the night we stayed so we had to park at another paid lot a few blocks away. There is no mask policy at all at this hotel, so if are trying to avoid being exposed to covid, this is not the hotel for you. The reception desk staff were wearing masks, but there are no signs requesting that guests wear masks. The elevators are small and slow and there are no mask signs in the elevators. There are also no mask signs in the buffet area during breakfast. Guest were crowded into the space, mostly unmasked and a few verbally mocked us for wearing our masks while we got breakfast. One unmasked guest tried to spread covid vaccine misinformation to us at the coffee area. A hotel cannot control the behavior of guests, but they can have a policy in place to make all guests feel safe and comfortable. This hotel does not have any such policy in place. Don't stay here if you are trying to avoid getting covid. This hotel clearly caters to those in our society who unfortunately are misinformed and not interested in ending the pandemic.

Hi there! First, I'd like to thank you for your feedback and allowing me to address these serious concerns you've levied from your stay. We understand that during these unprecedented times, guest comfort and safety is an incredibly important factor in any guests' stay. Our rooms, as is current Hilton Clean Stay Standard, are stocked with "handi-wipes" which are small sanitizer wipes, as well as Lysol wipes. In addition to our already standard housekeeping procedures within guest rooms, our hallways and common spaces are routinely sanitized through the day by dedicated staff members. Our current hotel mask policy, which is determined by following guidelines and mandates from the federal and Rhode Island State government, is as follows: if a guest is fully vaccinated, they are not required to wear a mask in any public areas. Out of an abundance of caution, our team members are still wearing masks in all guest-facing environments. And so, in compliance with RI guidelines/mandates, federal guidelines, and Hilton standards - you will not see signage through out the building, as it is no longer required. (Effective July 5 2021). When you originally reached out to the hotel regarding the alleged harassment by other guests, we immediately investigated. We spoke with our Front Desk Agents, Housemen, and Breakfast Attendants to get a better understanding of how breakfast went the morning you were with us. No one could verify your claims. We even looked through our security footage and all we could see were guests mildly interacting with each other and flipping their waffles in the cast iron pans. I'm glad you realize that we cannot control the behavior you alleged happened from other guests on your one night stay here, but I am sorry that it did not make you more indifferent towards your review of our amenities. It seems like we just might not be the best hotel for you, and that's fine! We wish you safe travels wherever you decide to journey to next. Should you wish to speak further about this you can call me directly at 401-608-3500. Be well & stay healthy, Reid

Family weekend at PC. Good location. Nice to have breakfast if you want it. Basic breakfast but worked well for kids. Near plenty of places to eat lunch and dinner. Valet parking was convenient. Would stay here again.

We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your weekend stay with us in Providence-Downtown! Homecoming/Family weekends at the nearby Universities are some of our favorite weekends out of the year - allowing us to be that bridge between families as they travel into town to visit their loved ones! Many times we get guests for life out of it, and we have the privilege to see students as they first move into school, and as they walk down the isle toward their degree. Our valet parking team are some of the best in the business - convenient, affordable, and billed right to your room. Parking in any city's downtown district is already a big hassle, and we're happy to offer this additional amenity to make your trip a little easier! And you're right, we're surrounded by amazing and delicious restaurants here in the financial district - Congress Tavern, Circe, Capriccio's, Layali - just to name a few - all steps from our own front door! Again, we're happy you enjoyed your stay with us & we're looking forward to your return! Be well, Reid
