Aspen Winds was a lovely place with very friendly people. It was easy to find and ideally located, just off of Fall River Rd., close to the park’s Fall River Rd. entrance and about a 15-minute drive through town to the Beaver Meadows entrance. The property and rooms were very clean and well kept, with plenty of amenities. The beds and bedding were comfortable, shower water pressure was good, and the units had plenty of space. We actually stayed in two different rooms because of a change in our itinerary after our initial booking. (I called to make the adjustment to our dates, and the Aspen Winds team was happy to accommodate.) The first unit was #19, the Loft Suite. It had a full kitchen, including full-size refrigerator/freezer with water dispenser, plus a toaster oven. It also had a full-size washer and dryer, which was extremely helpful. The unit was in the same building as the resort office, and the entry was up an outdoor staircase from the parking lot. The only view was of the parking lot, but that didn’t bother us at all, because we were really only there at night. The second unit we stayed in was #3, an accessible one-bedroom suite. This one had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river (which was more creek-like than river-like, but very pretty with a soothing sound). The bedroom faced the parking lot, but we didn’t hear any noise. The kitchenette had a tall mini-fridge. The photos shown on the website for the two one-bedroom kitchenette suites are the same, but I believe they’re a mix of the two units, one of which is accessible (has counter cutouts, etc.) and one probably isn’t. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.…
We took our son and his girlfriend to Aspen Winds on Fall River for an overnight stay. We had won a gift certificate at a fundraiser and truly didn't know what to expect. We LOVED it! Everyone was so nice and helpful, the 2 BR Suite had a full kitchen, and 12 feet from the back door was an amazing river with beautiful views. They stock the river with fish and the men fished (and caught) a lot. The condo was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and we didn't want to leave. We will be back for sure.
We recently stayed at Aspen Winds for 5 wonderful nights in room #6, a 2 bedroom unit with balcony on the second floor, overlooking Fall River. We have been fortunate enough to have traveled to many places and have stayed in many different hotels, B&Bs, condo units, etc.. Hands down, this was the cleanest place we have ever stayed! We are truly clean/neat freaks and Aspen Winds far exceeded our expectations. A delightful surprise were the male elk that noshed on the lawn just below our balcony in the early evenings. Kudos and thanks to the hosts and their staff for maintaining and managing such a beautiful and clean property in such a beautiful place in the world.
Absolutely wonderful experience; beautiful lodgings, lovely hosts and situated on just the perfect spot on Fall River. RMNP entrance just up the street and our bed was so comfortable especially after a long day hiking. The pull out couch was comfy for the teenager we had with us so that was a plus! Thank you Dot and Phil, we will be back!
Awesome place to stay. Like staying with family. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dot & Phil are great. We stayed in the loft suite which was perfect for us. It had everything we needed and then some. Very nice kitchen and living room areas. Also had washer and dryer in our suite and a king bed in separate bedroom. Very convenient to Estes Park and entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Would definitely stay here again. Great experience!
We had the best time at Aspen Winds. My husband and I along with our son, daughter in law and 2 grandkids stayed 2 nights here and it was a great area to get into RMNP, and close to shopping too. The owners are so down to earth and fun to talk with. We highly recommend staying here on the river. The second night we had a huge elk right in our backyard. It was awesome. Cabin 15 was awesome.
We had a great experience at Aspen Winds. The owners are warm, friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was upgraded and the room was comfortable, quiet and well equipped. There was a grill, patio and bench swing to use. Linens were washed every day if you put them outside the room in the morning. The studio we rented was not by the river, but it was quiet and further from the highway. We would not hesitate to stay here again because it was the perfect distance from the National park and the town of Estes Park.
My husband and I enjoyed a 5-night stay at Aspen Winds earlier this month and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colorado. The location is gorgeous, both outside and inside. Our room was beautifully decorated, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was super clean and well-maintained. The proprietors clearly love what they do and were hospitable to guests while still allowing us a great deal of privacy. They were knowledgeable about local wildlife, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the array of shops and restaurants in Estes Park. Our room had kitchen amenities, a walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, and best of all a private porch and glider swing right next to the Fall River with a gorgeous mountainside view. We had such a peaceful & relaxing vacation— exactly what we needed— and enjoyed literally every moment we spent at Aspen Winds!…
The staff was very friendly. There was a lot of space with a kitchen and a balcony with a great view. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone staying in the Estes Pqrk area. Looking forward to my next visit and will definitely stay here.
This place was a delight and so were Phil and Dot (donna, someone else mentioned in another review). It felt like staying with family. They were so kind and hospitable and our room with the view of the creek was so comforting. We slept with the windows open (and even on the sofa bed - which was INSANELY comfortable). I highly recommend just going outside and sitting on the swinging benches and enjoying nature and feeling lucky to be in the company of such positive owners. It definitely was our sincere pleasure to stay in such comfortable accommodations with such delightful people. Another touch, that I appreciated was Phil immediately knowing who we were (we arrived at 6pm and likely were the last guests, but it didn't have that corporate, disgruntled feel - it was, like I said, like showing up at a family member's house that is thrilled to have you). Love these two. We'll remember them and this space forever and hopefully we'll be back on another trip to the Rockies. Much love Phil and Dot! Jacky and Beau…
