We had a nice stay at Misty Mountain Lodge. The best part about it was the close walking proximity to downtown. We walked everywhere. It met our basic needs to two nights. The cons: We could hear every word our next door neighbor said, the walls were paper thin. The lock on the front door is something you would see on a bathroom door, just a twist lock in the knob. It was clean, but on the older side, kinda like staying at Grandma's home. Cozy but not fancy.

We booked cabin 20, but were given cabin 11, which wasn't nearly as nice per pictures. TV didn't work. Asked mgmt to check on it but he didn't seem too interested in helping out. Sheet stated wood available upon request. Asked for wood to start a fire in cabin and were told they had none. No Kleenex in room. Would not stay there again.

8-29-2023. The lodge was not what is advertised to be and when discussing this with the staff on site this was met with animosity and disrespect. Within an hour of checking in we tried to address the shortcomings however the female staff member had left to take her son to football and were told by the male staff member that this is his wife’s thing and he can’t make any decisions. Items that needed addressing: - Bathtub not holding water - Construction workers sanding and painting the deck access to where we were staying while drinking beers (loud, wet pain and inappropriate for evening) - Microwave not working - The rooms odorous used car pine air fresher smell (our son has asthma and this was not healthy for anyone) - Hollow-core door (an interior door) used the exterior door with a nob-lock with added flimsy chain lock. We wished to address the shortcomings collegially however the women staff member who presumably could address our concerns was not on site. We returned multiple times to address the issue however the staff member did not return until 9pm. Once we entered the office this staff member verbally escalated the situation without initially hearing our concerns listed above. Subsequently stating they are not the owners and do not have authority to address this. When we asked for the owners contact information the staff member refused to give this to us. The female staff member then told us we could just leave. Which we did with our toddler son at 9pm. At this point we were concerned for our safely and health not only from the room perspective but from the staff members. The staff has refused to give us a refund or the contact information for the owner. If you are the owner of the lodge we would be interested in discussing our experience in more detail. The website and prior reviews are promising; however, the new management are destroying what once seemed like a nice get-away. Save your money and frustration and book somewhere else. …

Great location, right by the river, and easy walking distance from downtown restaurants and shops, but a bit away from the crowds. The hotel is made up of about 12 smallish buildings, all different, with a central area with grills and outdoor seating. I was in a building of three or four standard motel rooms, with mine the closest to the highway, but it wasn't noisy at all. Windows front and back, very clean, comfortable bedding, a mini-fridge and microwave. It even had a fireplace, and in case you thought it was just for show, there was a sign saying "No fires on the day of departure."

We stay 2 nights. First, the good: Location and parking. 1.5 bathrooms. Comfortable bed. Kitchenette. Ceiling fans (no AC), chairs and couch are OK. Interesting: No phone (bring your cell phone), no clock, no radio and no Kleenex. Did not think about Kleenex until I sneezed! Disappointing: Finish quality of room (but they may be updating over time). Staying in a lower unit was not good. You could hear everything in the room above (old building have lots of squeaks and no sound insulation). 2 cabins were closed for repairs (helped parking), so the main building has 5 rooms. Bad: The doors only have door handle locks. We had a front door and a door that led to the front porch (lower level) from the bedroom. The bedroom door only locked by pushing in the handle and turning. It was unlocked for most of our stay (we did not check until the 2nd day). These locals are the kind you can open with a credit card. No dead bolt. No room safe to keep valuables. This is a guest safety issue and I would rate this as a reason to stay somewhere else until this issue is addressed. …

Awesome location within walking distance of downtown Estes Park. Room was very clean and, although we didn’t get to avail ourselves of it, having a full kitchen is a bonus. The guy running the place was a real “bro” - he loaned us a bucket and let us use the hose to give our motorcycle a much-needed wash. If we’re ever back this way, we’ll come back to Misty Mountain!

Location, location, location. Stayed at the Misty Mountain Lodge in Estes Park for 3 nights this past week. We had room #4, which consisted of a nice size living room with flat screen, a kitchen with dining area, and bedroom with closet and bathroom with tub / shower. Back to the location, the Misty Mountain is located about 3 blocks from the downtown area, affording you the opportunity to leave your car at the Lodge and walk downtown without finding and paying for a place to park. Dealt with Lisa (owner) a number of times via email and also after we had arrived. Could not be more pleased with the customer service. Finally, we were greeted TWICE during our stay by Elk within 20 - 30 feet of our front door. Now, if this concerns you just know that they won't bother you if you don't bother them. Also, if you find them on property and ARE concerned, just wait about 5 minutes ... they move …

Stay clear of this motel! We stayed during June 2023 and barely made it one night. We were unable to sleep due to the thin walls and old beds. There are no curtains in the motel rooms, only blinds and ours let all of the light from the road in. The thin walls were the worst part. I've read other reviews on here that mention the thin walls and, if you're a light sleeper, you will hear every grunt and snore that the neighbors make. What's worse is that if you visit during any of the ongoing road construction, you will hear every car that travels on the road, as there's a load metal grate in the street outside of the motel. The rooms are very small and bathrooms even smaller. Don't stay here expecting nice accommodations. This is a very poorly kept property in dire need of repairs.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are located just behind the pay parking for Estes Park, across the river from the River Walk, so they are very convenient for anyone wanting to be in the heart of things. They have recently been updated and had a fresh coat of paint on the outside. That being said, there were a few things that could still stand to be updated. For example, our room had an ancient heater in it that we could not figure out how to regulate. We turned the thermostat as low as we could get it, but heat still poured out of it. We did not have a chair in our room, but we did have seating outside that we could use when it wasn't raining. (We had one of the smaller rooms). The staff was helpful and flexible. Good stay.

After a planned hiking trip to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) fell through, I was left with a roundtrip airline ticket to Denver and a shuttle to Estes Park and nothing to do! I found a back-up trip to to PMNP and contacted Misty Mountain for rooms at the start and end of the trip. It was done over the phone and was efficiently completed. The Lodge does have a website, but my stay required talking with the front desk. Mission accomplished, ready to hike. Guess what happened - another trip cancelled. Now I had a roundtrip ticket, a shuttle and a room for 3 nights, four nights unaccounted for, and no hikes. I worked with Kirks Fly Shop in Estes Park and set up three guided hikes. Now I needed room accommodations for four nights that fell between the three nights I had booked at Misty Mountain. I called the lodge and they were able to meet my needs. I wound up changing rooms twice because of the last minute nature, but the Lodge staff actually moved my belongings to the new room while I was out hiking. They even moved my nonfat milk from fridge to fridge! The rooms are basic, nothing fancy; but I just wanted a place to sleep and to serve as a base for hiking and enjoying Estes Park. The Lodge is located close to the Big Thompson River and is easy walking distance to downtown, the Visitors' Center, numerous restaurants, and a Safeway. Some of the rooms have small kitchenettes. Not big enough to prepare a banquet, but certainly adequate and sufficiently stocked with utensils fro a small meal. For me, the ability to prepare breakfast was valued. The bed was comfortable and a ceiling fan was all that was needed on days when the temperature was high. The staff at the lodge was friendly and helpful. There was password-protected WiFi.…
