Separated from downtown by granite outcroppings the property intertwines the vacation condos with mature pines and a stream fed pond. Summer brings families. Fall is priceless...With the golden aspens blowing in the wind and the distant elk bugle. Winter is quiet and perfect for romance. Spring comes slowly to the mountains, with an occasional snowfall. Whether you are planning a quiet getaway, a wedding or reunion...We have the setting-you create the memories!!!

3 night stay! Room looked exactly like the photos and had a great view! Great location, close to downtown Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. There were weddings happening while we were there, so parking right outside our room wasn’t always available, but wasn’t a huge deal. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Property's Favorite Review
We were here to attend a wedding, staying in "The Suites." Our room was large and pleasant. The setting is beautiful. There were, however, a couple of things that bothered me and prompts this review. First, a 10 am check out time, especially after a wedding, is ridiculous. Second, when I enquired about getting some ice, I was told, "There is no ice on the premises." (To boot, the tiny freezer in our fridge did not have an ice tray - really? - if you don't have an ice machine?) Even the worst Motel 6 would have ice. While our room was pretty expensive, I got the overall impression that the hotel was doing things on the cheap. The office staff was hardly warm and fuzzy. None of this detracted very much. This review is more oriented towards getting the attention of the inn's management.

Response from Jackie Robinson, General Manager at Black Canyon Inn
Responded Jul 10, 2023
Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your comments with us. We like to hear them, all of them! We appreciate the great compliments and the criticism. It is feedback like this that allows us to continually make improvements in the right direction! Our office staff is usually upbeat, happy, and helpful. I am sorry to hear that you had less than stellar experience with them. They do care so much about our guests, and they will be disappointed to know that they fell short. But they will be motivated to make improvements, so thank you! We never want to make excuses, but please know that our Suites are brand new. Prior to them being built, there were just condos on property and all of them offer full kitchens, so the ice machine has never been needed/requested. We are so glad that you brough this to our attention so that we can make sure we keep your suggestions in mind when we are making improvements. Best Regards, Jackie Robinson General Manager

Black Canyon Inn is beautiful and condo clean but the staff is extremely rude. In a rush to check out we left some cloths in the condo. Called the office and they returned about half of our clothes. Missing items where more high end clothing like Lulu Lemon. Called the office just to say we are missing clothes we don't expect to see them again and we are not asking for any money but just to say you have a theft among your staff. Manager couldn't of been more rude. Pretty much said we must have left them somewhere else and his staff would never steal anything. not sure where we could of left them. When we arrived we unpack and when we left we packed up the car and went home. Manager told me to never come back. We got married at the venue on site and brought over 100 people from Chicago to Estes Park and about 20 of our guest rental condos and rooms at Black Canyon Inn. I would recommend getting married at the venue but I would never stay or recommend anyone to spend any money at Black Canyon Inn!! Manger and his assistant talk over my wife and I and pretty much didn't offer any apologies.

We are always disappointed to read a review like this one. We do our best to find and return all lost items. This is something most motels, Inns, Resorts, etc. would never do for reasons like this. Anything left behind is turned in by our staff promptly and we have a great track record of never having any theft here. We apologize that you mistakenly left your items behind, but to be held fully responsible for theft after we locate and return the items also feels very uncomfortable. We trust our staff and we simply tried to convey that we have never had an issue, we were never trying to convey anything other than that. We hope you find your missing items. We would never ask you not to return, we are sorry you felt like it was conveyed that way. My name is Jackie Robinson, and I am the General Manager. We have not spoken, if you would like to discuss this further, I would be more than happy to take your call. I would love nothing more than to make you feel better about this situation. Best Regards, Jackie Robinson General Manager

This is our third visit to Black Canyon Inn and my husband and I stayed for 6 nights. We have stayed in a different units each time we have come which is dependent on the number of family members that have come with us. We have been pleased with each of them! We keep returning because we love the location and amenities at Black Canyon. The location is near enough to town but far enough away to be remote. The mountains are just steps away! There is nothing like hiking all day and then coming back to relax and have a snack on our patio and just enjoy the view and wildlife. The unit was very well kept (recently renovated) and very clean. The staff goes above and beyond to keep the property quiet and restful even with all the weddings that they have. We never once heard loud groups! We will return!

This location really is not an "inn" in the common sense of the word. There is no restaurant, no lobby, no hot tub, no recreation activities, etc. It is a relatively small and modest condo development that primarily is focused around a beautiful wedding venue. The overall setting is lovely... serene, secluded, and beautiful. The condos are individually owned, with wildly varying levels of amenity and decoration. Therefore, it is important to select the individual unit that best suits you. The units are built to a residential standard, so the lower units suffer from noises above, including running water and toilet flushing sounds. The upper units might be best if you are a light sleeper. The wording on some units like "deluxe," "luxury," etc. doesn't seem to offer any real level of explanation of the unit. Unit F2, for example, is almost not decorated. I appears to be a corporate unit, since it is the handicapped unit, with a roll-in shower with an oppressive black shower curtain. The kitchen has a few mismatched pieces of silverware and glasses. The view, however, is spectacular. Unit F1 has a great view as well, but is much better furnished and decorated (if you can get past a bathroom door opening into the kitchen, which violates many building codes!). Unit H1 has a great kitchen and bathroom, but only a view of the parking lot and a patio table almost in a parking space. The unit is relatively dark, with only three windows. The ability to combine with the unit above it could be an advantage (but make sure the connecting door is locked!). Of the units our family used, D3 clearly was the favorite, with beautiful, rustic furnishings and a fully stocked kitchen, including spices, appliances, and cooking staples (but where is the toaster?). All the units seem relatively expensive, especially the ones with relatively few amenities. It is a modest resort perfect for family weddings, but don't expect a level of luxury that usually goes with $500 a night rental fees.

Wow! We appreciate your thorough review of the condos. We realize you and your family booked several units and you were able to see the differences between many of them. You are correct that they are all independently owned and that is what creates most of the differences between the units. In a market that sells generic motel rooms for $250+ a night, I would argue that an entire condo, fully furnished for just $500 per night is a screaming good deal in a destination town. But I do understand that from an outside perspective, this may seem excessive. Estes Park generates most of it's revenue in just a few short months and rates reflect that. Summer is peak season and rates are always highest in the summer. To our readers, please know that the reason behind our three tiers (Standard, Deluxe, and Luxury) is due to the private homeownership. We offer rates based off the condition of the unit. This does not make one unit better than the other, but rather it allows a wide range of people the opportunity to stay with us. If you are looking for a newly remodeled, top of the line place to stay, book our luxury. If you are looking for a nice place to stay but you need an economical choice, book our standard. If you need something right in between those two choices, book our deluxe. We want to be inclusive and provide an option for everyone! Our amazing views are what most people love about us! Come stay with us and enjoy a relaxing stay in an exceptionally clean condo with breathtaking views! Best Regards, Jackie Robinson General Manager

My daughter’s wedding was Father Day 2023 at BCI and it was magical! Spectacular! And I’m still overwhelmed with the beauty and gracious hospitality that BCI offers! It was the perfect wedding without any hitches. Perfect surroundings and venue! It met and went beyond our expectations! Most delicious food and service both bar & food, I could have ever imagined! Special thanks to Teresa. Amber, Edith and the rest of the wedding coordinators. The accommodations were excellent and make sure you book in well advance. I highly recommend this 5 star venue and hotel !

BCI is nestled just outside of downtown Estes Park and provides awesome views with comfortable accommodations. Our unit had heated floors , fireplace and a well appointed kitchen. The staff was amazing and mailed my wife's expensive hair dryer (yes they make them) back to us in Virginia! The wedding at the Boulders was breathtaking and our family had a ball! Thank you Black Canyon Inn for everything!!

This is a beautiful resort, minutes from all the shops/restaurants in Estes Park. We loved the setting, especially the view of Long’s Peak from our window, significant to our two “trekkers” who reached the top in 1992. Condo was clean, reasonably appointed and a breeze to get to RMNP/Estes Park. It was concerning that there is no “front desk” but we did receive a reasonable response when we contacted the call number. That was a critical component to our stay because...... ......On our first night we had some unit machinery that “kicked in” with loud banging and noise, waking us up. Resort investigated but unable to recreate. Unfortunately, night 2 was more of the same, making it impossible to sleep after 2:00AM on both nights of our 2 day stay. We complained about the issue, and I will say that Black Canyon Inn did resolve to our satisfaction. We’re appreciative of that and, had we not had the noise issue, our rating would have been 5 stars. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay at this facility again given it's lovely setting and prime location.

The inn is beautiful but some of their staff is quite rude. I would recommend staying here for the location, the wedding venue is great, but do not expect for any accommodations or to be able to ask questions without interruptions or any real explanation.

We had an unexpected hiccup in our night and our condo was no longer available. Although disappointed, the management got us settled in two Suite rooms for the night that were absolutely lovely and refunded our fee for the condo. The grounds are positively gorgeous and we did watch a family of elk from our balcony. We used the pool too and had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!
