Rustic River Cabins are tucked away in the Big Thompson Canyon just four miles from the center of the city of Estes Park on the Big Thompson River. We are far enough from town so you don't have to deal with the heavy traffic of Estes Park, but close enough to enjoy all that the city and the Rocky Mountain National Park have to offer.

Janine and James are the perfect hosts. I’ve been to Rustic River 4 times. The cabins are super clean and the views are excellent. Beds are extra comfy. Always relaxing. Close enough to town, but no too close. Definitely recommend.

What a wonderful place to stay for a night or a week. Very clean inside and out. Privacy was exceptional. Well worth the price for beautiful view, a flowing stream, abundant wildlife, and close to restaurants and activities. Fantastic owners that help you with whatever you need a leave you alone when you don't. Absolutely I will return!!

Traveled from Hawaii - I wanted a mountain cabin with a fireplace and a hot tub. This was perfect. The place was exceptionally clean, hot tub was clean and hot, owners were kind, and the location has easy access to Estes Park. The bathroom was remodeled and the shower perfect (for those shower snobs - like me). Everything you need is provided in the unit; including but not limited to extra towels for hot tub, seasonings for cooking, and games/puzzles for those quiet times next to the fire. I will be back and will recommend to anyone heading to the area.

Three single moms, tired and in need of some fresh air and a stress free vacation. Rustic river Cabins was all that and so much more. The cabins were recently updated and done with a modern feel, but yet still had that rustic mountain cabin charm. The grounds were lovely, right on a scenic river with mountains surrounding. Lots of public sitting areas, a cute gift shop and a clean private hot tub, along with a community tub as well. The cabin was equipped with all you need for a relaxing vacation. I felt the price was fair and we got our money’s worth. The owners are fantastic, attentive and so nice! Oh and did I mention that the location of these cabins is right down the road from Estes National Park. All in all we will give Rustic River Cabins gets six thumbs up from this mom squad! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome location on the Big Thompson river with excellent access to the park and Estes Park! Cabins are very comfortable and the owners were terrific. They alerted me to the timed entry requirement at RMNP early on which allowed me to obtain the necessary entry passes online (and those did not last long). We saw mink, chipmunk and an array of bird life right in front of our cabin. My fiend was able to fly fish on the property whenever whenever we had extra time in the day. This is definitely the best place to stay in the area!

We absolutely love staying here. I believe this was our 4th vacation to Colorado and this is our place to stay. It’s close to the Rocky Mountain entrance, the view is beautiful, the hot tubs are awesome and our hosts are wonderful. Thank you again for another relaxing time away from our busy lives. We will see you again in September, James and Jeanine 🙏🏼❤️❤️

The perfect way to end 2020 and begin 2021 was our 'rustic' stay in Bear Paw (for a few nights) and Milky Way (for the last part). Our cabins were so cozy and inviting for of our much needed time away at RUSTIC RIVER CABINS (Drake, CO) in BIG THOMPSON CANYON - near Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Roosevelt and Arapaho National Forests, Loveland, Loveland Pass, short drives to Breckenridge, Frisco, Leadville, Vail and Denver! What a time we had, and would definitely return! Thank you Jeanine and James (and staff)!!! Each cabin had it's own charm, both very cozy and JUST enough for two people to snuggle up a cold winter! You've got EVERYthing you need - warm, clean cabins, THE FIREPLACES - a must for us - quiet surrounds, hot tub (some private) perfect, just enough room to store your winter gear, the kitchen and living area totally adequate - all you need are your supplies, which we brought in our SUV all the way from ATL and anything we needed was a quick trip to Safeway groceries in Estes or Loveland, or shopping for souvenirs or anything else we needed was a stone's throw away! So conveniently located, to get to any of our day trips or to the National Parks and Forests near by. The option to grill outside was so welcomed - and we did New Year's Eve! It was everything we could hope for and more!!! Thank you Jeanine and James (and staff!) - we look forward to see you again soon!

This is the fourth time I've stayed, James and Jeanine are always so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The cabins are great, had everything we needed. The location is outstanding, right on the Big Thompson River and 5 minutes to Estes Park. The private hot tub is so relaxing and peaceful. I can't say enough wonderful things about this business. Thank you and can't wait for the next stay!

My wife and I were desperately searching for a last minute 1 night stay in Estes Park for our anniversary weekend. I happened to come across Rustic River Cabins and was very excited! I noticed they required a 2 night min stay but the cabin was only available for 1 night. Jeanine graciously accommodated us for the 1 night. We stayed in Cabin 8 “Endless Stars”. Upon arrival we were happily met by James and he gave us the run down on the cabin and showed us how to operate the hot tub. He was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The cabin was clean, stocked, and the views were amazing. My wife was in awe and loved everything about it. We spent most of our time enjoying adult beverages the deck over the river. We cooked dinner outside on the grill and enjoyed a cool night in the hot tub with the sound of the river under us. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was amazing (great water pressure). We loved everything about this cabin, and the owners made us feel very welcomed. We did not want to leave the next day. We have already bragged to our friends and family about this place and will definitely be back for a longer stay. Thank you for hosting us!

Our stay at RRC exceeded all expectations. Our cabin was clean and comfortable, and even included a private hot tub and fenced in area for our dog! If you are wanting to stay for Estes or Rocky Mountain National Park, this is the perfect spot! It is close to everything you need, but just far away enough to feel private. The cabin included wifi (only fast enough to make calls and send messages), satellite tv and a fully functioning galley type kitchen. The owners were AMAZINGLY hospitable and were quick to help with any questions or recommendations in the area. Overall, our experience was significantly positive and we look forward to staying there again in the future!
