Just returned from 5 nights at Swiftcurrent. The location was quiet and serene yet extremely convenient to RMNP entrance and the Estes Park action. Cabins were updated, very clean and had some nice little extras extra touches to make us feel welcome. Donna and Andrea were excellent hostesses and made sure our stay was perfect.
On our way back from Montana, my husband and I had to stay a few nights in Estes Park, CO. This was our 3rd visit here, but in a different location. We LOVE Estes! Swiftcurrent Lodge was a perfect little cottage! We were in cabin #1. The space was all we needed. Kitchenette was perfect to cook our meals, along with the outside grill on the back porch that sits right on the Big Thompson River. Our first evening there, a huge elk was just on the other side of the cabin, bugling ( should be 3rd pic. Zoom in to see elk). The property was very clean and welcoming! There is a huge hot tub available as well. We did not get time to sit in it, for we always got back to our cottage later in the evening and by the time we cooked supper, watch the river go by, we were ready for bed. The only downfall is that the bed sits right along the wall that is close to the road. Lucky, I always take a white noise machine with us anywhere we go. That helps tremendously! Office staff, Donna, was exceptionally nice! Very quick to respond to phone messages! We WILL be back next year! It is reasonably priced (for that area) compared to others! If you are new to the area or not, and haven’t driven HWY 36 towards Loveland, it is a beautiful scenic route along the river, with great picture opportunities! Watch for big horn sheep. I included pictures from the cottage and a few from HWY 36. Be sure to check ot Colorado Cherry Co. on the route!…
Convenient drive to groceries & gas and to town & RMNP by Hwy 66 though it is somewhat tucked away. Andrea & group were very helpful & friendly. Be sure to get WiFi Calling on your cell phone if you want any phone coverage, Patio on river with grill & table, small gas fireplace, equiped kitchen area, quiet except for some highway noise, places to walk, some free goodies, good mattress. Two doors with locks but not deadbolts. My smaller cabin room was perfect for one person though couples like it too. I would like to return.
This is a charming small old-fashioned lodge (but very up-to-date with amenities) right next to a river and adjoining Rocky Mountain National Park. Welcoming hosts, comfortable lodging, well-appointed kitchen and bath. Easy drive to RMNP entry points (or you can walk in to Moraine Park area). If you like quiet and retro, you will enjoy Swiftcurrent Lodge!
A perfect little getaway along the Big Thompson River just outside of the RMNP entrance. There was a grill & outdoor picnic table reserved specifically for our cabin. The hot tub appeared to be brand new & kept clean. The grounds were spotless & the river provided the perfect soundtrack. Highly recommend for small families - multiple units could be rented for larger groups. We hope to go back in the future!
This lodge is in a beautiful spot and the room (203) is very clean and comfortable. The river is right outside the deck and the setting couldn't be more beautiful. The staff in the office were all very friendly and welcoming (unfortunately, the office wasn't always open so we didn't connect often). We had hoped to watch the Rocky Mountain Channel with the beautifully done descriptions of the park, but the TV did not include that Channel. However, should we have the pleasure of returning to this magical mountain paradise, we would definitely stay here again!
Swiftcurrent Lodge is a great place to stay, Nice & cozy, Clean. Very relaxing sitting on the Big Thompson Mountain stream. We seen deer, Chipmunks. And we set feeders out to feed the hummingbirds. The Girls that run the place are amazing, We just love how caring they are. They are just like family to the wife & I!!!!
Another great stay at the swiftcurrent, My wife and I stayed for 3 days and as always enjoyed it, Sits right on the Big Thompson River, Can walk across the bridge and find multiple trails leading into RMNP. Andrea is always around and is always willing to do anything to insure you have a great stay. Its away from all the crowds, has multiple sitting areas outside and grills to cook on. We've stayed here at least 4 times now and absolutely love it. If your looking for something fancy, this isn't for you, its more rustic and laid back, only thing I would warn you about is the showers are very small, not much room to maneuver, other than that, Its a beautiful place, hot tub and outdoor fire pit right on the river. Thanks Andrea and Crew for another great stay.
Swiftcurrent Lodge is located away from the other motel areas so it's quiet and best of all, right next to the Big Thompson River. It's so relaxing just sitting and listening to the river go by. Restaurants, grocery store and RMNP entrance is close by.
This lodge is in an excellent location since it is very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. There is no housekeeping provided, but you can text them for additional towels if you want them. There is a larger size mini fridge and a microwave in the room. The bathroom is very small, and the room is not very spacious. If you want to be pampered, this is not the hotel for you since the staff is not in the office very much.
