Our son lives in Boulder, but we love staying in Estes Park. We had a great family weekend spending allot of time in RMNP. McGregor Mountain Lodge was a great place to stay for our family! Loved the hot tub and cinnamon rolls on Sunday!! We will definitely stay again!!
About 1 mile from the Rocky Mountain park and 8 miles west of Estes Park, this is a real gem of a property. Many choices available for picking one of their cabins to stay (some have full wood fireplaces!) we recommend the suites up the hill (Units 16 and 17) for the best (highest) views of the mountains. We stayed over Christmas in #17 and had a great time. Units fully outfitted, we bought our turkey dinner from Safeway in town and finished the preparation for a great celebration. When considering for next year, the owners offered an amazing package for families; even included setting up a Christmas tree! We expect to take several cabins this summer and bring our kids (and their kids) out to Colorado for a great mountain reunion.
This is the fourth time staying at McGregor Lodge. The accommodations (cabins) are excellent, the maid service is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the mountain views are spectacular. Also, less than a mile to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Me and my pup Fin, were here for a wedding. We had such a nice visit and there were plenty of places to take my boy for walks. The cabin was comfortable and clean and we both slept well. It was so quiet and peaceful and very nice to get away from the city. I loved sitting out on the porch just looking at the beautiful scenery. These cabins are very close to a lot of amenities but far enough out, you don't have to deal with a lot of traffic noise. We will definitely stay again. Thanks so much.
We stayed 4 nights here in Columbine Cottage #3. It is a wonderful cabin and it was very clean and cozy! The bed was comfortable and warm. The heating system worked well. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo and it worked great. The toilet was fine, but it was low to the ground. Kitchen was very clean and had everything you need, except it lacked a toaster. The cabin had a terrific bay window looking out towards the mountains and the many bird feeders, so we saw plenty of Stellar's Jay, magpies, ravens, and other small birds. It's really nice to walk around the property. The main office provided fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies daily. Katie and the evening desk manager (sorry didn't get your name) were friendly and welcoming. This was our 2nd stay at McGregor Mountain Lodge. Our previous stay was as guest of good friends, who booked 10A/10B back in mid-May, so it was a special rate. We came back because we were so pleased with this property. It's only 1 mile to RMNP Fall River entrance.…
If the close proximity to the RMN Park weren't enough (4 miles to the entrance), the views from this lovely spot are incredible. The cottage (2 bedroom with kitchen and living) was immaculately clean and well-stocked with everything you might need. A cozy fire in the evening (ample wood provided by the lodge) after a day of hiking is the perfect way to relax and warm your toes. The staff (especially Joel) was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Without a doubt, I will return to this incredible place.
Really a great place to stay if you want to be near Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff were really friendly and helpful! They property was super clean. We appreciated the easy of making our fires with the free starter firewood, the coffee in the registration area and overall the comfortable atmosphere.
The staff is helpful and friendly. Very willing to answer all your questions, being sure your stay is comfortable. The cabins are clean and well equiped for a restful stay. Views of the mountains are awesome. Peaceful setting as is close to National Park entry. Will continue to be our Estes Park stay destination. Dog friendly definetly!!
Our family had 3 one-bedroom cabins with kitchens next to each other, and it worked great. We had picnic tables with umbrellas assigned to each cabin and ate our dinners out there together. My favorite thing was sitting on one of the front porches in the morning with our coffee and just enjoying the cool air, birds all around, including at the seed feeders and hummingbird feeders. Always hummingbirds. The kids LOVED the friendly McGregor dogs. The staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful. The office was a comfortable place to hang out with games and puzzles upstairs, cookies and coffee maker downstairs. And an extra bathroom.
Friendly staff, beautiful neat clean cabins, staff very helpful if we needed anything. It was a great place to stay!! I highly recommend it! We also saw the resident elk and deer almost every day which was a nice bonus : )
