The Work's are excellent hosts they provided area information upon request and made checking in and out a breeze. The accommodations are sparkly clean and very cozy. We stayed in the duplex suite that is right on the Big Thompson River. The sound of the river lulled us to sleep each night and in the mornings the wildlife was within...

Staff very easy to work with. Love it that they will let you stay Just one night instead of requiring a minimum. Cabin was clean and easy to get to. Very close to Rocky Mountain National Park Entrance and downtown Estes Park. Sits right on the river with wildlife close in view. Will definitely stay here again.

we stayed recently and found the cabins - we had a two bedroom - much smaller than the photos on the site. We also foud it to be run down - in need of new linens and better beds. Having said that, the location was great - about 3 minutes by care - from Rocky Mountain National Park.

This was the third year at the lodge and had a black bear by our front deck in the middle of the night. That was amazing. The cabin itself was dated but very clean and it has everything you need to prepare a meal. We had a nice deck with a view and a grill. God willing we'll be back...

I really, really wanted to love this place, however, I just couldn't quit get there. I will start with our arrival. We arrived around noon and unsure if we could get in the cabin we headed to the office. When I stepped in the man was in the back. He came up front and did not speak so I announced...

My husband, adult son and I visited RMNP for three days. We didn't need a lot of amenities - just someplace clean with 2 bedrooms. We were pleased with the cabin in which we stayed (#8). It was quite clean and the kitchen was much bigger than other cabins we've stayed in at Estes Park. We cooked breakfast each morning...

Estes Park is one of our quick/easy getaway spots so we've tried nearly every hotel, lodge, restaurant in the vicinity. Workshire is one of the places we check first when we're heading to town. The cabins are rustic without being primitive and strikes the right balance so you don't feel like you're in "just another hotel room" either. We love...

Tina has such a wonderful spot. Within a mile of RMNP, on the river and minutes from town. The cabins are older but quite charming. Tina had fresh flowers at each patio! We had dinner on the grill each evening but the kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need to cook in. OMG we all had such a wonderful...

We stayed at Workshire in the middle of July. What a great place! It was close enough to town, but not too close. The cabin was very clean but older - not that we minded at all. We had new pots and pans and there were enough dishes and utensils to use. We were by the highway, but were not...

This is an older property, but clean and well maintained. The only reason I can't give it a 5 is the water pressure was very poor in my cabin. I had a problem with the refrigerator which was immediately addressed, so I don't even count that as a short-coming, and everything else was really great. The property is beautiful, quiet,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Workshire Lodge is a small family style resort on the beautiful Fall River 3 1/2 miles west of Estes Park and 1/2 mile east of the Fall River entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Family-owned & operated since 1946, we offer a quiet setting with cozy, clean cabins from which you may explore the "Park" or just sit on the deck enjoying a good book or watching wildlife. All of our cabins have at least a microwave and mini-fridge, with most having kitchenettes or complete kitchens. Though you're welcome to watch a little bit of TV inside, most guests like to spend as much time as possible on their deck or porch, perhaps grilling something on the gas BBQ grill (every cabin has one). Fall River is known for its trout fishing, so grab your license and bring your gear. Whether your cottage has views of the Rocky Mountain flora, or overlooks Fall River itself, you will be immersed in the beauty that draws thousands of visitors to our town each year (but you'll think you're the only ones here). We do not offer daily maid service, but clean towels and linens are available whenever you like. Pop into the office to borrow a book or game, listen to the chipmunks chattering, the hummingbirds flitting about, watch the deer or elk graze, let the roar of the river lull you to sleep.....and fill your heart with memories to sustain your soul until your next visit. ... more   less
