Just got back from four nights in the Naughty Pine cabin (#14), which was perfect for us, our niece and nephew and their rambunctious 4- and 3-year-olds. Can't get that river soundtrack out of my head (and will be sad when I do). Just the right mix of comfort and rustic -- big kitchen, 3 br and a pair of... More

I won my grandson's school lottery and decided to apply it to a family vacation. I informed the grandchildren (ages 6-12) that it would be a MOUNTAIN vacation and not a BEACH vacation. I thought they would be disappointed but they were excited. I chose IDLEWILDE because I have always wanted to stay in cabins by the Big Thompson River.... More

There is NOWHERE on earth I would rather be-- except perhaps someplace with my grandchildren-- the Idlewilde. I love it being mine for a week every year. it's like owning a part of Heaven. The cabins are comfy and the river sings a music that fills my soul.

Deb and Larry were such wonderful hosts for our 5 night stay at Idlewilde cabins. We were in #2 (Hummingbird) which was perfect for us and our 2 young kids. The property had everything we could've wanted, and relaxing by the river was so peaceful. Close to town, but a world away, we will certainly be back!

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this rustic resort by the river! We stayed at the cabin that was within 3 feet of the river and went to sleep each night to the nice sound of the rushing water! The cabin was comfortable and quaint....literally 4 minutes from Rocky Mountain national Park. Hummingbirds are a constant sight by... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by managers Deb and Larry. They were so anxious to make sure our stay was as rewarding as possible. Great place to stay! Great place to relax and enjoy the river. Our neighbor was even catching a few small fish.

My two week stay could not have been better! Convenient location, clean and well maintained cabin, helpful management. Right by the Big Thompson River. Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend Idlewilde. We will definitely be back!

Great location to Estes Park and Rocky Mtn. National Park. Cabins are comfortable and well stocked with the necessary kitchen supplies. Unfortunately, we are used to a king size bed, the cabins have comfortable queens. I like the river sound but it was noticeable.

If you want a somewhat old timey experience with nice amenities, select Idlewilde. We like the rustic cabins, ours right on the river, but enjoyed the hot tub, modern kitchen, welcoming hosts and horseshoes!

This cabin was amazing! The location could not be better for hikes in Rocky Mountain. It is clean, and obviously a lot of care is put into the upkeep of the property. The owners are lovely and friendly, and are very willing to help out with suggestions or a friendly smile. We would definitely recommend these cabins to anyone coming... More
