We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this rustic resort by the river! We stayed at the cabin that was within 3 feet of the river and went to sleep each night to the nice sound of the rushing water! The cabin was comfortable and quaint....literally 4 minutes from Rocky Mountain national Park. Hummingbirds are a constant sight by... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by managers Deb and Larry. They were so anxious to make sure our stay was as rewarding as possible. Great place to stay! Great place to relax and enjoy the river. Our neighbor was even catching a few small fish.

My two week stay could not have been better! Convenient location, clean and well maintained cabin, helpful management. Right by the Big Thompson River. Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend Idlewilde. We will definitely be back!

Great location to Estes Park and Rocky Mtn. National Park. Cabins are comfortable and well stocked with the necessary kitchen supplies. Unfortunately, we are used to a king size bed, the cabins have comfortable queens. I like the river sound but it was noticeable.

If you want a somewhat old timey experience with nice amenities, select Idlewilde. We like the rustic cabins, ours right on the river, but enjoyed the hot tub, modern kitchen, welcoming hosts and horseshoes!

This cabin was amazing! The location could not be better for hikes in Rocky Mountain. It is clean, and obviously a lot of care is put into the upkeep of the property. The owners are lovely and friendly, and are very willing to help out with suggestions or a friendly smile. We would definitely recommend these cabins to anyone coming... More

We just returned from a week-long stay in the Aloha cabin at Idlewilde and it was wonderful! The cabin was spotless and very comfortable. We has everything we needed for the week (dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker). The sound of the Big Thompson River could be heard throughout the cabin....best music in the world! Idlewilde's location is perfect for accessing... More

I first made reservations for Pinecone cabin for my stay to attend a medical conference at the YMCA. However when I asked if my elderly father would like to come along as it had been a long time since we lived in Boulder, Co, he was all for it. So I switched to Riverside and it was wonderful. The cabin... More

Perfect! This was the first vacation we have taken in about 6 years. Everything about our stay was great. The managers of the cabins were welcoming and pleased to help in anyway. We cooked breakfast everyday in the cabin and ate by the river. After hiking all day a hot shower and comfortable bed with the sounds of the river... More

I booked the Ataloa cabin for my boyfriend’s 28th birthday based on the wonderful TripAdvisor reviews. First thing he said when we got to the cabin: “We got the best one!!” He wasn’t kidding. Ataloa is incredibly cozy and about a foot away from a little stone-filled river. We spent hours sitting next to the river, drinking local brews and... More
