We are deep in the stresses of selling our house. Throw in COVID, cancelled vacations and kid stuck at home, I was on the verge of a breakdown. On a whim, I decided a short stay in Estes would heal my soul and I wanted to be on the river.

On short notice, we were able to book Fawn View cabin for two nights. As soon as we arrived I was enamoured with the dozens of hummingbirds that flittered around the area. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The cabin is more like a mobile home than a cabin, but was cozy all the same. It was quiet, had all the creature comforts and even though this cabin is not on the river, the Big Thompson still roars by and lulls you to sleep at night.

What is so charming about this place is the care and detail put into it. It’s a small property, but very well maintained and decorated. My daughter was entranced by the fairy house outside of Hallet’s peak cabin. The wood carvings are thoughtfully lit up at night and it gives the place some charm. You can tell how much the owners care about their accommodations by how well-maintained the cabin is and the accompanying book that gives tips for how to use the awning and fire pit, as well as, restaurant recommendations and easy check out instructions.

In our cabin we had all the cooking utensils we needed, plus plenty of linens and blankets that it felt like home. The deck was private and offered lovely views of the roaming wildlife.

I was looking for a place to leave my stress behind and recover and heal. This place was just what I needed and I left rejuvenated.

We stayed in Pine Creek cabin with our dog and loved the double opening doors. We listened to the river all night long. Owners and guests were all friendly and respectful. The cabin was beautiful and all space was well utilized. We ate all our meals on the deck watching the river and hummingbirds. The deck even had a gate to keep our dog in and there was a small grass area just for dogs complete with removal bags. Easy walk to a great restaurant and easy drive to groceries and the National Park. The only place we could find to to hike with our dog was Lily Mountain trail. We'll be back!

Where to begin?!?!? This place is FANTASTIC! We have been to Colorado twice with our kids and always wanted to stay right on the river in a little cabin. After lots of research, we chose Paradise on the River. What a pleasant surprise this gem is.
We stayed in the Aspen Cabin which is the closest to the check in area with RV spots in between. The remaining cabins are to your right when facing the river. They are staggered and it still feels private because of the placement and the screens that hang in between them.
The cabin entrance has a sleeper sofa which my kids said was the most comfortable one they have ever slept on, and two stuffed chairs. Yes as others have said, when the sleeper sofa is out, it touches the two chairs so there’s no going around it, only over it. This was a very minor inconvenience. Just plan ahead.
There are two nice TV trays to eat on if you need indoor dining space.
The kitchen is FULLY stocked and has everything you could possibly need. All types of cooking pots, pans, utensils, and baking sheets. They had everything! Even a strainer for our pasta meal we made. There is a drip coffee machine and if you check the cabinet, they had coffee grounds, creamer, and various sugars.
There are several cabinets and pantry spaces along the wall for storage.
The bathroom is on the smaller side but again, there was a cabinet to store all your toiletries as well as a medicine cabinet and space under the sink. They supplied soap but bring your own shampoo and conditioner as needed.
The bedroom is not big but really functional. The extra bedding for the sleeper sofa is stored under the bed. There is a sliding closet door where we were able to fit our large suitcase and it has several deep drawers underneath it. Tons of storage space!
The outside deck area has a large table and chairs to enjoy eating meals or just relaxing. There are two other chairs and a small table where you can sit and listen to the river. There’s a gas fire pit that’s as easy as turning on a grill. No difficulty at all. Works great for s’mores or just a little warmth on a cool evening. There is also a full size grill but we didn’t have time to use it.
The gals my husband talked to at check in were very kind and made us feel like we were family not just guests for the night.
We will definitely be coming back here the next time we head to Estes Park!

My wife and I stayed in the Antlers Point cabin the 2nd week of August. The cabin was furnished, spotless, and the view was "paradise". The owners are great! They are very informative, courteous, and the park location was easy to access RMNP and shopping in Estes. The entire park was very quiet and our evenings were spent grilling on the furnished propane grill and relaxing on the deck overlooking the river with a propane fire ring.

We will be returning!!!

We stayed in the Antler’s Point cabin for a long 4th of July weekend and it was amazing! The cabin was very clean with special attention to detail like fluffy towels, matching pots and pans, piped propane for the grill and fire ring. It doesn’t get any better than this! Do yourself a favor and book a cabin or an on-site RV and you will not be disappointed. We look forward to our next visit.

We have an RV and stayed at Paradise on the River for 9 nights. The place is beautiful and right on the river with a nice deck. The place is small and tight, but so nice. They had the most beautiful flowers everywhere. The owners and workers were so friendly. Brian helped us back into our spot and gave us lots of pointers on where to go and what to see. He was great. The restrooms were also clean and smelled good with air freshener, liquid soap and hand sanitizer. Loved this place.

My husband and I stayed for five days in an absolutely perfect cabin right on the Big Thompson River. The cabin was small, but plenty big for the two of us. Much thought was given by the owners to provide absolutely anything that you could possibly need. Everything was super, super clean. Cabins were close together, but with the shades on the end of the deck, you always felt that it was truly private. The outdoor deck was so very perfect. We spent many hours outside listening to and watching the Big Thompson. The resort is just a couple of miles from an entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and just a few miles from downtown Estes Park. I highly recommend this resort for anyone. It truly is paradise and we’d love to return next summer.

What an incredible little slice of heaven this place is to escape the summer heat. The cabins are always squeaky clean upon arrival, and the views never disappoint. Staff always treat you like family and they never hesitate to help with any issue or question you may have about local places to go, eat, drink you name it. Super inviting property, and just the right amount of social guests mixed with quiet. So relaxing to stay here we never want to leave. Do yourself a favor, don’t think, just book your next stay here. First trip was with a private hot tub cabin, second was without. Sure you can stay at a chain hotel, but why do that when you can be treated like a person that matters compared to just another sale at a chain hotel? 10/5 rating if I could.

We visited Paradise on the River for 6 days, in the Brookside cabin. The staff were great and very helpful. Loved the cabin, being right on the river and everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked making it easy to cook when we didn't feel like going out. It was very peaceful and quiet the whole time we were there - even over the 4th of July holiday. The humming birds that nest by the patio were noisier than our neighbors. We will definitely return for visits in the future.

These cabins are so cute, very clean, and in a great location. The river is literally right outside your door. The cabin we stayed in had basic dishes and pots and pans, and a full size fridge. There are laundry facilities on the property which was so nice.

It is a great fishing spot, however not as wide as places in Rocky Mountain National Park. You can get into the river but cannot go through the property on the other side or access properties to either side of Paradise. There are also quite a few trees and bushes along the shores so may have issues casting. We have a local gentleman who loves our access point and usually leaves with several beauties for dinner!

We don’t offer tent camping unfortunately. There are campgrounds that do offer tent camping, but not sure if tents can be right next to RV’s. If you want to check availability with us please either call Kathy at 970-586-5513 or request dates on our website. Thank you!

Are the foldout sofas comfortable ?
Answer from deeof8
1 contribution1 helpful vote
Not really. We only had it fold out the 1st night but couldn't get it to fold all the way out. So I slept with my sister in the bed(which was very comfortable), my husband slept on the couch. My brother-in-law slept on the bunk bed and he said that was pretty comfortable. He said it had a memory form mattress. Hope this helps!
