My boyfriend and I stayed here in Aug. 2015. My mom worked for HP for 20 years and we grew up going to Hermit Park and camping as well as their annual picnic. I've always loved these cabins, they have everything you need for a great camping trip. I love that it is heated by propane so you can camp... More

Made it up the mountain from Fort Collins for a weekend getaway with my buds and our kiddos. We stayed at the Elkhorn cabin and had a great time - toddlers too. Brought just enough wood that we didn't have to buy more at the ranger station. Finished all the beers we brought along, including those from a bonus beer... More

We strayed at Big Gulch cabin at Hermit Park for the Memorial Day weekend. This is a one room cabin with two full size bunk beds. The cabin had a nice propane fired stove for heat and propane lights. There was also a three burner stove inside hooked to the cabin propane; we did not use the indoor stove and... More

These cabins are fantastic. We spent this past weekend in the Spring Creek cabin. It had propane heat in the form of a gas stove and propane lighting. It was equipped with 4 sleeping surfaces, each with 2 twin bed mattresses. The experience is similar to camping without all of the discomforts of camping. The cabins are spaced quite far... More

We stayed in Big Gulch and were very happy since we had no previous knowledge of these cabins. Very clean, spacious cabin with vault toliet that was the cleanest I've ever seen! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hiking trails were beautiful! would recommend cabins to anyone looking for seclusion. Can't see the other cabins so it was great. I... More

I and my family enjoyed a three-day stay in Hermit Park as part of a trip to Estes Park, CO and Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabins of Hermit Park are different from other camper cabins we've rented and provided a unique camping experience for us. The cabins are secluded in a wooded valley surrounded by mountains. Each cabin sits... More

My family stayed at Cabin 3 (Big Springs) of the Hermit Cabins in Larimar County in late july 2013, , very close to the town of Estes Park and entrance to Rocky mountain National Park. At the entrance, you check in and make sure you load up on water, and you can buy an ice cream treat and wood if... More

What a shame. This used to be such a well run and beautiful area when owned by HP. Now that Larimer County has taken over it has become a public run nightmare. If the county wants to make budget cuts, look no farther than the Open Space Ranger Department. There are about as many rangers hanging out than there are... More

I attended a wedding and we all stayed in the camper cabins. Be aware: It is camping: rubber mattresses, bring your own sheets, no electricity, only propane, linoleum floors, port-a-potty outhouses outside. No showers, but you can take one in town. Good: It was a beautiful setting in the mountains, secluded, away from the tourists of Estes Park. Very clean,... More

I was hesitant to write this review, as the Hermit Park Open Space cabins are so wonderful, I almost want them to remain a well-kept secret. But I have gotten so much good info on this site, I felt I had to share. Hermit Park offers a huge expanse of quiet and solitude. Estes Park can be very busy in... More
