I'm giving this place an excellent rating because it is plainly and unapologetically what its meant to be: a cheap roadside motel. It is clean and has all the basic amenities, including wifi and a coffee maker.

Greeted and checked in by a friendly gentleman. Room smelled and looked clean. Room 43-nice view of ocean and harbor. Wi-Fi 7.8 mbps @830 pm with moderate occupancy. Mattress comfortable. Not newly remodeled but adequately maintained. Across the street from park and bike path that...More
This motel was decent. It had an ocean view, it was pretty clean, within walking distance to a few stores, restaurants, the city park and the visitors center. There was a slight sewage smell coming from somewhere. Sometimes it was strong and sometimes faint. We...More
We stayed for on night in one of the oceanview rooms. It was rather large and clean. The view is kind of nice and the surrounding area isn't fancy, but we easily found nice places to eat. Our only problem was a continous kind of...More

This is a small inn taken over by new owners just 2 years ago. They are trying very hard to make improvements on a property that had a bad reputation and needed a great deal of work. Sounds like you might be happier somewhere less basic. Try Lucky 7 Casino's hotel, you will pay more but I suspect it will be more to your liking. Personally, while fancy is nice occasionally, I prefer the personal touch I get at Front Street Inn. They try very hard to make my stay pleasant every time I am there, which is fairly regularly while my husband and I are getting our second facility open in Crescent City.
