The Lighthouse Inn captivates guests with its distinctive nautical theme and ample room space, although there are mentions of it being somewhat antiquated. Despite criticisms of being dated with limited offerings, the hotel is consistently celebrated for its cleanliness, boasting immaculate rooms and well-maintained premises. While the rooms are clean and cozy, they, too, receive comments suggesting a need for modernization. Visitors commend the friendly staff and the overall service, but some have experienced issues with amenities like inconsistent Wi-Fi. The inn's amenities, including its location and continental breakfast, are generally met with approval, though guests miss having a hot breakfast option.

The Lighthouse Inn is an older hotel that has been well maintained and was very quiet. Our room was large and quite comfortable. The front desk staff was happy to mark area highlights on a map for us. Continental breakfast was well stocked and convenient. Location was good for exploring both south and north to the Redwood National and State Parks and the Oregon scenic coastline.

This was my 3rd and final stay at this Inn. I'm torn between a rating of 2 or 3 so I veered to 3 due to convenience. It’s well located for a visit to the redwood parks and lighthouse. There’s easy parking. Some view of the harbor and distant lighthouse can be had from the 3rd floor. We enjoy all the quirky touches including model lighthouses.

Pluses of the queen suite is that it’s large with a big table, comfortable couch, 2 bedside cabinets, a 6 drawer dresser and attractive décor. Outlets are reachable. The shower is fine and I always appreciate a sink outside the bath area with plenty of counter space. Lighting was adequate and reception acceptable.

On the negative side, the bed was quite hard (& we stayed 3 nights). Wifi was terrible – had to wait for websites to pop up and could send an e-mail with a single photo but only at certain times. The coffee machine was next to the hairdryer. Ugh. So, no, we didn’t make coffee in the room.

Worst was the small breakfast room. There is 1 single coffee maker that is used to choose several types of coffee, so everyone has to wait in line while individual cups brew. The room is super crowded so lots of maneuvering to pick up food items. Breakfast is blaaa: Breads, cereals, bananas, apples and juice. No muffins or pastries or yogurt. We didn’t even try to find a table. If breakfast and Internet aren't needs, then you may enjoy this Inn more than we did.

Hi, Dulci. We don't have a commercial kitchen or permits to provide cooked food. Our free continental breakfast is ever changing depending on what is in season. We can recommend local restaurants if you'd like a more hearty start to your day. All our beds are the same style and manufacture and age. Mattress firmness, or lack thereof, is such a personal taste and governed by what a guest has at their home. If you look at our very long list of reviews, we're told our mattresses are everything form 'just right', 'too firm' and 'too soft'. We aim for middle ground and are sorry to learn that didn't happen for you. We're not fancy to be sure. We're whimsical and comfy with a staff that is friendly with a grateful heart for each guest. We do wish you only the best wherever you may travel.

Good place to stay in the Crescent City area. Our family of four stayed in a two room suite where one room had a king size bed and the other room had two queens. It was plenty of room for the four of us. The sink is outside the bathroom so that made getting ready easier. They also have a great coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine in the lobby that is available 24 hours a day. They served a continental breakfast in the morning but we did not try it because we wanted a hot breakfast and they did not have any hot items available.

We have stayed at this Inn 3 times over the past 6-7 years. During our current visit it was clear that the quality of the motel has decreased. The motel advertised high speed internet, but during our visit the internet rarely worked. The occupancy rate appears high but the noise level in the hallways and between rooms is difficult to tolerate. Breakfast is poor - bread and cold cereal. On a positive note - our room was clean. This will be our last visit...

Greetings, Traveler. Thank you for choosing us during your recent visit to our Northern California area. Our goal is to provide the most enjoyable guest-experience for you, every time. We're saddened to learn we missed the mark for you this time. We are in progress of having our local ISP upgrade our access, so that will soon be resolved. The free continental breakfast we provide includes morning breads, cereals, juices, oatmeal, seasonal fruit, tea and coffee. We do have several cook-to-order restaurants nearby we can recommend for guests looking for a more hearty start to their day. We hope you’ll you'll reconsider and give us another try when you visit our area in the future, and wish you peace wherever you travel.

The second you walk in the lobby, you know you aren't in a chain hotel. This property has a nautical theme that is warm and inviting. The rooms are spacious and decorated with real furniture, not just mass produced items. There was an actual bedspread and blanket on the bed...with a headboard! It literally felt like sleeping at your grandmother's house! There was an iron, ironing board, fridge and coffee maker in the room. The A/C worked well. The shower pressure was excellent and the water, hot. With a couch and a small table and chairs in the room, there was plenty of opportunities for varied seating. There are washing machines and dryers on site. Free continental breakfast included.
HINT: Healthy Harvest is two doors down. By far one of the best meals I've had in a long time. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can find my review on Trip Advisor.

Our concern was a clean and economical place to stay and this fit the bill. It is directly across from the harbor and right off Highway 101. Our room had plenty of room (two beds, a small table with chairs and two additional chairs) and was clean. We were in the middle of a two-week road trip, so a huge benefit was the washers and dryers that were available. The front desk staff were accommodating in making change and selling soap. They were not serving breakfast because of Covid, but there are restaurants close by. Some friends who were also traveling stopped by and while their hotel was right at the beach, they kept commenting on how much nicer our hotel and room was--we made the right choice!

My husband and I stayed at Lighthouse Inn on our latest trip down the coast and had a nice stay.

We arrived on the late side because we had spent the whole day driving and arrived in Crescent City after a late dinner. Check-in was a quick process. We were the last to arrive and the front desk had everything ready to go. We were given a room on the second floor and warned they had had an issue with the guest next door to our room and to let them know if it was still an issue. We heard the person screaming/singing loudly while we parked but they quieted down shortly after we got into our room.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was sufficient for keeping the room cool. The room had a cozy feel, almost like a bed and breakfast, which was complemented by the lobby area that had large doll houses around a shelf near the second floor. The only issue we had was the wifi. We called the front desk and they said they were rebooting the router, but it was unreliable at best.

We paid $93.06, which was very reasonable for the stay and it included free parking as well. We would stay here again if we find ourselves near Crescent City in the future! It was a good road trip stop.

We have stayed here previously and always enjoy our stay. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Our room had an ocean view and we could walk across the road to buy yummy clam chowder for dinner. The lady at the front desk helped explain the tide times so we knew when to walk out to the Lighthouse.

Lots of pros: good location, huge rooms, great price (~$118/night including tax). They even serve a very simple breakfast--bagels, toast, cereal, fruit, and coffee/juice.

Downsides: front desk staff aren't very friendly and the INTERNET is AWFUL. If you want or need to do work or stream videos or reliably be online, this might be a dealbreaker for you. Service was very weak in both our room and in the main lobby, especially at night. Finally, the decor is really dated, if that matters to you.

Overall, for the price, I was satisfied, but the internet issue was really a tough one to deal with!

I went to the coast for 8 days making three reservations at Crescent City, CA, and Gold Beach, OR, and Bandon, OR, all within a half an hour on June 9th. I received conformation from all three, which I was expecting, so didn't pay much attention to them. The Lighthouse Inn I made for July 27th and 28th. When I called ahead on July 27th to say we would be arriving late in the evening, they said our reservation had been cancled. I had received no cancellation notice. When they looked it up, the stated the reservation had been made for June 27th and 28th, but when I didn't show, they cancelled it without any notification to me. Their person had put in the wrong month and there was nothing they could do about it. When I arrived Crescent City I had to find another motel and had to pay for one night over twice what it would cost for two nights at the Lighthouse Inn. I did call Lighthouse Inn to see if they then had a room for the 28th. They did. We stayed there on the 28th, but did have to call down for clean sheets on one of the beds. Won't stay there again.

Greetings, Traveler. We'll fall on our sword on having made the month error and deeply apologize for the mistake. We equally regret you didn't read our follow up email showing the incorrect date so we both could have avoided the unfortunate circumstances of not having a room for you on your first night. We thank you for coming to stay with us on your second night and are saddened we won't be seeing you again. We do wish you only the best wherever you may travel in the future.

Hi, once again, Novenna S... As you can ascertain by the number of responses I've sent to you from entire social media catalog, we absolutely respond to every message, note, or phone call we receive. We received no inquiry from you until this past weekend. It is important that a guest let's us know the name under which a reservation is made; especially when booked online with a 3rd party. They control the rate and the entire reservation, and as such, we need to know who we're booking to be able to coincide the individual with booking. As it was, you presented only your name and not the other person's name, so we could only associate your-specific reservation. We understand your ire; however, your situation was regrettably out of our control. Kind regards to you and yours.

Portland is the largest airport. Sacramento would be another large airport in California. Depending upon which airline you fly, Arcata California is a medium to small size airport that has limited flights as well.
