I highly recommend staying at the Thurber House in Putnam if you are looking for a quiet, friendly place in a beautifully restored 200 year old house. Betty Zimmerman is a wonderful host who produces elegant, tasty breakfasts that you will not get anywhere else. She is a fantastic baker and a wonderful host.
