My wife, Susan, and I had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Kane Plantation Guest House. The only way it could have been more enjoyable would have been to stay longer - much longer. We stayed in the Kanaloa Suite. The furnishings, the views, the overall structure itself took our breath away. We had actually planned to go "out and about" on our last day in Hawaii, but instead we chose to wander the avocado farm, read books on our beautiful lanai (complete with hammock), admire the artwork, mostly by the previous owner, Herb Kane, and read about the rich history of the early Hawaiians. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the outdoor shower, complete with deluxe toiletries was a delight. There were fresh flowers and chocolates that magically appeared each day, as well.
Now, for breakfast! The array of food, locally sourced, included cereals, fruits, cheeses, pastries, and jams/honey, served with a fresh fruit smoothie. Then, breakfast was served!!! The last breakfast we had was eggs Benedict on an English muffin with bacon and topped with avocado Hollandaise, something David created that morning. Coffee - French press! The screened dining area looked out over the farm, with gorgeous views of the ocean and Kealakekua Bay (do not miss a snorkel trip on the Fairwinds II to this location).
Michael, David, Cal, and Jim were the perfect hosts - attention to detail, helpful, and friendly. Susan and I have traveled all over the world, from France to Fiji, and we have stayed in many places. This is the BEST. We will be back!!!
