I enjoyed a stay at the Calumet Inn on a mother/daughter trip to visit Pipestone. We stayed in one of the historic rooms on the second floor with two queen beds. It was bigger than many rooms I have stayed in at chain hotels and was very clean. I was told that the rooms on the upper floors are later... More

Liked the idea of a historic old hotel, rather than a chain. Unfortunately, this one is a little too historic and old. We had one of the 'historic' rooms - a street-facing room on the 2nd floor (other rooms are more modern, supposedly). The room WAS 'historic' - high ceilings, antique furniture (not in very good condition) and old-fashioned bathroom... More

If you're looking for a "Holiday Inn Express" type experience keep on trucking. If you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary you will find the Calumet Inn a wonderfully unique stop over. We stayed in the "Belleweather Plantation" room on the third floor - each floor of the hotel having its own theme. As other reviews... More

Went to Pipestone. MN to see the Pipestone National Monument, which everyone should see (beautiful and serene; an educational and historic experience). We saw the Calumet Inn online and thought an old, updated hotel would be perfect for our visit. We have stayed in several restored, historic hotels in the past and were impressed with the care and vision others... More

We were on our way home from Rapid City and found this place for the night. It was a place to sleep. We were disappointed that pipestone doesn't have any bar and grill places to have a drink or burger at. We went to the pub on the street. That was nothing to be desired. Scary worker. Then we walked... More

The good: It's got lots of character, especially in a small town like Pipestone. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. The shower products were good quality. They allow pets. The not so good: The walls are pretty thin so you hear all the creaks and sounds from the outside, the hotel is old (which give it character in a way)... More

A lovely hotel - not a modern place with all the bells and whistles, but lots of small town charm, grace and comfort, including free wifi, free breakfast and an in-room kitchenette. Very quiet, lovely toiletries, and a gracious front desk staff.

I love historic buildings and hotels which is why I chose this hotel. Disappointed that I could not rent one of the antique rooms because my dog was with me but that's ok. The room I was given was on the third floor, it was ok but definitely needed updating and repairs. Hole in the closet doors, very worn furniture,... More

I love old buildings so this is a pretty great place! hotel is located in the downtown area, close to and easy to walk to nearby shops. The rooms are big and clean and the bathrooms are modern and clean. The bed was nice, cozy and comfortable.

Hotel is located in the downtown area, close to and easy to walk to nearby shops. It is a historic hotel and I believe in the process of needed updates. Our room was acceptable, but needed some updates. We were looking forward to having dinner in the dining room, but unfortunately is was closed due to a private party. The... More
