I love historic buildings and hotels which is why I chose this hotel. Disappointed that I could not rent one of the antique rooms because my dog was with me but that's ok. The room I was given was on the third floor, it was ok but definitely needed updating and repairs. Hole in the closet doors, very worn furniture,... More

I love old buildings so this is a pretty great place! hotel is located in the downtown area, close to and easy to walk to nearby shops. The rooms are big and clean and the bathrooms are modern and clean. The bed was nice, cozy and comfortable.

Hotel is located in the downtown area, close to and easy to walk to nearby shops. It is a historic hotel and I believe in the process of needed updates. Our room was acceptable, but needed some updates. We were looking forward to having dinner in the dining room, but unfortunately is was closed due to a private party. The... More

This is a strange but pretty great place! The hotel is in a beautiful, old historic building. It is right in the middle of the historic downtown and is a beautiful spot to stay. The rooms are big and clean and the bathrooms are modern and clean. The beds are comfortable and nice and big. Because the building is old... More

I love old buildings and wanted to stay here for the historic aspect. The building is cool and the stone beautiful. The staff was very nice. That being said, the room scared us! It was too dark and dingy. The lamp shades are cracked, the beds and pillows are old, the carpets scary, furniture old and chipped, etc. It was... More

Excellent prices, great service, wonderful rooms, rich history, but above all, amazing food. This lady has no complaints and will most certainly return. The check in and check out processes were easy and very relaxing. The rooms include free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a mini fridge and microwave, and every other amenity to be expected. Nice and clean. The chef is... More

We had a great time on a one day getaway. It was nice to include the pooch. The staff was exceptional. All were kind pleasant and helpful. The hotel is old and gorgeous. The room we had was average but very clean. I would stay in one of the antique or theme/haunted rooms next time.

I don't understand the bad reviews (there are only a few) because they're obviously from people who want to stay in a boring modern hotel. This is old, antique, haunted and historic. It has character! And while some wallpaper may be inclined to peel off it is very clean and well maintained. The food is great and the staff were... More

If you like a hotel in which every thing is shiny and new and tastefully decorated, this place is not for you. If you can tolerate a bit of shabbiness and decor that falls far short of elegant, and if you're looking for lodgings that aren't like those in all those highway motels, this place may suit you. Our room... More

Great historic building, central location in downtown, nice staff, continental breakfast (toast, bagels, english muffins, cereal and yogurt with beverages) nice historic touches throughout the building but the rooms need some TLC. Spacious rooms, but the beds squeak and are quite noisy just by sitting down. (mattress and box springs do not match, they seem very dated) Bath towels are... More
