    Wonderful Stay
This historic home has been restored with an eye to preserving its history while providing modern and comfortable accommodations. We only stayed for two nights, but they were the best nights of sleep we had on our trip. We stayed in the Kings Parlour on the first floor. It has a super comfortable king-sized bed. The home is very clean, linens were top-shelf, and the shower had great hot water and water pressure. The hosts provided a couple of cans of local beer and water in our room’s refrigerator. The common areas include a coffee/tea bar (with lots of choices), fruit and some snacks. The front porch is a lovely area to enjoy a cup of coffee or a cocktail in the early evening. Location was perfect for exploring a few breweries and eateries within easy walking distance. We highly recommend El Cuervo ABQ!!

Unwind to engage at beautiful Mauger B&B
A beautiful jewel, for sure. Our first stay at a B&B has converted us! Exceptionally personable and engaging Staff is evident as soon as you enter. Kudos to Stephanie, Bradley and Jenni. Any room on second floor is deluxe, one with balcony, each with singular style and all with comforting amenities. Custom breakfast selections, daily fresh baked goods for snacking. Great local advise to meet travelers needs included. Location is perfect for bikes (available on site) and hikes. Convenient access (just blocks) to Old Town, Downtown, business, art, zoo, quality restaurants, and tons of parks. Both indoor and outdoor gathering areas to mingle or quietly unwind. Dog friendly, too! We will return as soon as possible, hopefully for balloon festival in the fall!

We spent a week in the Brothel Suite (2nd floor) while my husband attended a work conference. We loved the off-street parking, quiet neighborhood and quiet room, as well as the beautiful woodwork and character of the historic home. You can't get that vibe at a chain hotel! Breakfast was just coffee, tea, granola, oranges, and packets of instant oatmeal, but there was a larger fridge in the room, so we were able to buy some groceries at a local supermarket (walkable, on Lomas). Choose items carefully, though; the refrigerator has no freezer section. The shower off the livingroom was nice, with 2 showerheads. The bed was not firm enough for my back (and after a week, it hurt), but I loved the porch room it was in, having plenty of natural light and an excellent air conditioning unit that kept it very comfortable, even in a heat wave. Our hosts were gracious and friendly. The local beers were a nice touch.

Room Tip: Because the floor squeaks a bit, you are probably better off with the second or third floor room....

What a wonderful and eclectic boutique hotel! My husband and I stayed for just one night and loved it. We stayed in The King’s Parlour when we came up for a New Mexico United game. We came a little early (30 minutes before check in) and they accommodated us graciously. Beer and water in the fridge was great on a hot day! Beautifully renovated and wonderful antiques and art from local artists. We’d highly recommend! P.S. New Mexico won their game which was an added bonus!

I stayed in two rooms at El Cuervo ABQ (The Brothel suite and the I Love MJ room) in June 2023 and HOLY MOLY, if I could afford to live here full time I would in a heartbeat! It felt like home, but better. The beds were so comfortable and I loved the high quality plush bedding in well AC-cooled rooms. Everything felt very clean and functional. The common area was inviting and stocked with interesting things (books, games, travel info, historical facts, art, etc). WiFi was quite good when I had to get some work done the first day. The location on a quiet, residential street was easy in/out, with several good eateries in walking distance. Hosts were friendly, communicative, and available without being overbearing. Yeah, the floor in this old historic building was creaky like another review mentioned, but I never found it bothersome especially over the gentle hum of the cooling units. I'm a very light sleeper and I really didn't hear other guests, even when I tried. Morning coffee and porch time was perfect, and the 2nd floor balcony of the I<3MJ room was equally pleasant in the evening. The everyone-welcome vibe this place gives off added to its physical charm. What a great way to end a wonderful but tiring adventure in the Land of Enchantment!

We hoped to like this place, but were disappointed overall and would not return. There were some positives, including the location in a fairly quiet residential neighborhood near downtown, spacious rooms, off-street parking, free beer, a nice porch and a quirky esthetic. Unfortunately these were offset by multiple negatives, including the fact that we never encountered the supposedly friendly hosts (check in, check out, and everything else happened through automated text messages and email), the mattress was soft and saggy and the bed was covered with a winter-weight duvet in the hot summer, the bathroom contained the tiniest sink we had ever tried to use with a slow drain that made even hand washing difficult, and the floor was so creaky that anytime anyone in the entire house got up to walk to the bathroom during the night, the noise woke everyone in the house. In addition, the place was billed as a B&B, but there wasn't actually a breakfast. Instead, there was coffee (with only non-dairy whitener), Nature Valley granola bars, and over-ripe bananas. Fortunately there's a good coffee shop and an even better breakfast place (Lush Cafe) just a couple of blocks away. Also, be aware that from this place it is at least a 25 minute walk to Old Town. We enjoy walking so that was OK, but in the heat it felt pretty far, and it didn't feel safe to do at night. Overall, we were sorry we didn't like El Cuervo, but we really can't recommend it.

This was the perfect spot to stay while we visited Albuquerque. The home is beautifully restored and the rooms were cozy. The Brothel ( name of the room) had plenty of room to spread out and even a blanket on the couch and a cold beer and water in the fridge!. The shower had great pressure and warm water. The downstairs common area had a coffee bar and snacks. We were able to walk to a few breweries and restaurants within 5- 10 min and Old Town was a quick 5 min car ride. Did you know there are buildings there from the early 1700's? The owners were very responsive to questions I had. We enjoyed this home and would stay here when we return to ABQ.

Bradleigh and Stephanie could not have been more gracious or communicative hosts! House was adorable, cozy and clean. My sister and I stayed for two nights during the week and enjoyed the convenience of being downtown. We both got tied up with work during the check out time, and Brad was so accommodating — letting us loiter in the common space for hours after we cleared our room! 💎💎💎 Highly recommend staying at El Cuervo. Can’t wait to go back !

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. El Cuervo is conveniently located within walking distance of both Old Town and Downtown, and if you have a car there is a dedicated lot right behind the B&B. The contactless check-in was seamless and was super convenient, as our flight arrived late at night and we checked-in close to midnight (something a standard B&B might have objected to). The room we stayed in was Mr Mauger's Office, which was a beautiful space with a big bed and modern bathroom fittings. The street is quiet at night, but nearby is an elementary school so if you sleep in you might hear the kids playing. Although it is billed as a bed and breakfast, El Cuervo doesn't offer breakfast aside from complimentary coffee/tea and granola bars. This was no issue for us, as we were out each day doing things and eating out at the many great cafes and restaurants of Albuquerque, but I felt it was important to clarify if you're looking for a more conventional B&B. If that's not a dealbreaker, then we can't recommend El Cuervo highly enough. We had a fantastic time visiting ABQ and enjoyed our stay at El Cuervo immensely.
