The mansion is well kept, our room was nice and quiet, and the location was excellent for exploring Old Town. The personal touches that we typically expect at a B&B, however, were absent. It is understandable that many adjustments have been made due to COVID-19. However, not all of the issues can be explained by that. Firstly, the proprietors did not introduce themselves to us at all. I had to look at previous messages to recall their names. They also did not seem to know who any of the guests were from day to day, even though there were not that many of us to keep track of. It was advertised that there were fresh-baked cookies each day - there were a few in our room when we arrived, but that was it during our two-night stay. We were celebrating our anniversary on this trip, and had noted that in our reservation, but this wasn't acknowledged once. Truly, this was a less personalized or even friendly stay than I've received at standard hotels recently. The oddest thing happened our second evening. I had ordered the add-on of truffles when I made the reservation. $25 ended up being 9 tiny chocolates, which was disappointing, but I suppose a major overcharge was to be expected with an add-on. In the morning I placed the box of truffles, labeled with our name, in the refrigerator we were told was for guest use (and was labeled as such). That evening when we returned, I went to fetch the chocolates and the box was gone! We texted the owners to see if there was anything to be done, and they replied (by text) that the truffles had now been returned to the frig. ?? They said they thought we had checked out, so they had removed the box. Thought we had checked out? Again, they had no idea who any guests were. And on top of that, when I retrieved the box from the frig, a truffle was missing! So they had opened the box, eaten a truffle, and then returned the box. After seeing that they had been into the chocolates, I did not feel comfortable eating the ones that were left, so I had to toss them. No offer from them to refund our money for their error, or to even properly apologize. Very, very strange. I would not recommend this inn, other than for the location. There are hotels close to Old Town that would be better options.…
My sister and I rented 2 rooms at the Bottger Mansion on 9.21 & 22. We were in easy walking distance of Old Albuquerque and quick driving distance of other restaurants and museums in other parts of town. The Bottger is clean & a lovely reminder of past history. The breakfasts each morning were wonderful and the coffee was especially strong and delicious. The beds were so comfortable that I wanted to sleep in every morning! Kathy and Steve were gracious hosts. I recommend their B&B very highly..
We loved this B & B. Perfect location, basically right on the plaza! The breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the Route 66 room which was fun and on the first floor, so need to lug our suitcases upstairs.
This was the perfect location for our time in Albuquerque- lovely to stroll around Old Town every night and watch the locals gather after shops closed. Kathy and Steve made every effort to make sure guests have everything they needed. Food was amazing- most if not all from scratch (including making their own sausage!) and they clearly know what they're doing. Even got some delicious bread and fruit for the road for an early morning flight. Comfortable beds, very clean, good shower pressure, relaxing courtyard. Just loved it. Will return.
This bed and breakfast is within a short walk of old town. Parking is very convenient and free. Loved the room – very unique. Property grounds were pretty. Even during COVID they managed to make the breakfast special.
