We stayed here to pay homage to the 50's motel style. This was a great place to do it. There are only like 16 units, so it is small. But it right on Hwy 66 across the street from Old Town in Albuquerque - close to restaurants, shops, etc. Very safe neighborhood. The owner is very friendly and pointed out...

And so my last day on Route 66 comes to a close in Albuquerque, and the last motel on the road was the Monterrey Non-Smokers motel. By the way, this is a non-smoking motel. The fellow at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Everything went smoothly, and he even sent his wife to double check and make sure...

The rooms were a good size, the beds were comfortable, the shower was fine, and the staff was extremely helpful in every respect. The motel was located in a very convenient part of Albuquerque - it's no more than a 10 minute walk to Old Town - and the motel itself had an old days Route 66 feel. We will...

decided to book a place in Albuquerque simply because it fitted our route on our coast to coast trip. easy to find as its on the main road through Albuquerque, when we checked in the guy told us the area was safe and old town was just a 10min walk for places to eat but as it was sunday evening...

We arrived very late due to unexpected travel issues and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were large, clean, and quiet. Although we didn't have time to use it, the pool looked very nice for a motel. We had six people (two parents and four kids) so I booked two rooms with two queens each, three in each...

This motel is a blast from the past but well maintained. Friendly and helpful people run the place. It was a nice change from chain hotels. Clean, pool, good sized rooms, great rates and prime location for Old Town and homegrown restaurants. Book it!

This motel is a time capsule. Located on historic route 66 and maintained by longtime owners. The rooms are suprisingly spacious and well maintained without losing their classic charm. Location is also great, with a 5-10 minute walk to old town. The owner was very helpful in describing the area and recommended eating places. Be sure to look for the...

I've been driving Route 66 and staying in a lot of hotels these days. I've been trying to keep costs as low as possible but have definitely ended up In some grimey places, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, grossed out, and wishing I paid more for a cleaner room. This was so not the case with Monterey's. I was...

The location is great as it's close to charming old town. The facilities are homey, clean, quiet, and safe. Definitely not the stereotype place that might come to mind when hearing the word "motel." The next morning we went for breakfast to the local restaurant Bo recommended in old town. Perfect for a quick rest if you are passing through...
