While planning a month long trip out west we booked a 3 night stay at Albuquerque KOA Journey for May 10th to the 13th (3 Nights) at $83.93 a night. Our plans were to stay there, travel into the mountains and to visit Santa Fe then move into Durango Colorado for a weeks stay. While at the KOA in Amarillo TX, some campers informed us that the smoke from the fires was getting bad near Santa Fe and at times the smoke was bad in Albuquerque. We decided to change our route and go into Colorado first and see if the fire would get any better. Durango moved up our stay and then we called Albuquerque KOA Journey to cancel out. We talked with Denise late in the evening on May 8th and she said that since we were within the 48 hour period we would lose our $83.93 deposit. Not happy we still canceled out. The morning of the 10th the news was reporting that the direction of the smoke had changed due to the wind so I called and talked to Denise at Albuquerque KOA Journey and asked her if she could put us up for the night and she said that she could but we would not get our refund of $83.93 back. I asked her why not since I was still arriving on the planned day of May 10th. She claimed that she cannot reverse a KOA charge. Being upset I told her that I would find somewhere else to stay. We ended up at KOA Albuquerque North Bernalillo for a price of $63.90 who were very accommodating. I have been a KOA member for 9 years and this is the first time that a KOA would not work with us. I have NEVER lost a deposit. The KOA in Amarillo TX informed me that the KOA corporation only charges $10.00 cancellation fee within 24 hrs. and that the $83.93 charge was over charged. If traveling to Albuquerque I would think about using Albuquerque North Bernalillo. It is cheaper, quiet and only 12 miles from Albuquerque.…
We love this place! I wish I could remember the name of the front desk staff! They have always been so accommodating and friendly as soon as we get there! They always fulfill my requests if they can, and the park is always nice and clean! We love the fact that we can get a site that has a fenced-in area for our dog. That makes her feel special! We've never visited the pool area, but we do enjoy the little dog areas they have! The general store is super cute and I always spend plenty of money on souvenirs every single time! A great place to stay for an overnight or several days. We've done both. Conveniently located as well. There's even a RV supply store within walking distance. Our vent over our bathroom had broke on our trip, we were able to walk over and pick up a new one. Great place! As always, thank you!…
This place is old and unsafe. Anyone who rates this over 1 star should have their head examined. In a bad part of town, non-guests from the neighborhood get in with criminal intent. Do not stay here - just keep driving! Honestly, this place should closed down.
We stayed 4 nights at this campground. While it is close to I-25, we didn't hear the road noise. The campground was clean. The site was gravel and generally level. The bathrooms were clean, although too few hooks to hang items and showers were so narrow it was hard to put your shoes on ... no chair either. It appeared that they were renovating the bathroom, so that is positive. The registration person said they were upgrading their internet service, but I found what they currently had worked just fine. So, kudos for improving this service that is most frequently just lousy and far oversold.
We spent a night here during our trip along I-25 in our RV. The lot was gravel and level, although a bit tight for a 40' rig. Amenities include a pool, playground, miniature golf and dog park. It was a good stay but I-40 noise was apparent.
Lady who booked our stay via phone was very pleasant. This is a large RV park. Staff friendly. Park is very clean. Mature landscaping. But the noise! If freeway noise doesn’t bother you then definitely come on by. I personally will never ever come back. I go camping to relax. Loud freeway noise is not relaxing. I was very disappointed in this property for that reason.
We are traveling from Michigan in a rooftent suv, mainly using States Parks, we arrived at Koa Alburqueque Journey to be welcomed by a rude lady. They wanted to charge us $25 for 45 minutes early arrive. She wasn't happy to give us a cde to use restrooms. Never here again!
Very helpful staff, friendly and Courteous. Nice place, big lots, blacktop and concrete so it’s easy to level. Bathrooms clean, nice size pool, easy to get to laundry. Check on was a breeze and nice little store. If you upgrade you get a concrete patio and patio furniture and fire pit, not sure of the fee. Pretty quite, we slept well. Nicest KOA we have stayed in!
This KOA is right off the highway, but you can’t tell. The facilities and camp grounds are nice, clean and well maintained! Very spacious; several rest rooms and showers. Pool and hot tub were nice and clean. The staff are nice and Richard is very funny and hospitable. I would definitely visit again.
I stayed in the Drury in New Orleans and loved it so I decided to try New Mexico Drury Albuquerque. I loved the friendliness of the employees from the moment we walked in . We got a suite which was beautiful and very clean . I would have liked to see a little more selection for the meals The dining room was very clean and the staff cleaned the tables as soon as people left a table . I would stay there again and will try other locations. So far it is my favorite hotel chain
