My company paid for us to stay here for a night as part of a recruiting pitch. It was an awesome experience. We stayed in a room with a great view and balcony facing the Sawmill center. I'll add a review about the Sawmill as well. But the hotel was awesome, from the moment I walked in you could just feel the relaxation begin. The staff was great and the rooms/hotel was fantastic. It is a higher end location so the cost is a bit more, but the room service for breakfast was great and the rooms super comfortable. There was one staff member I wanted to recognize; I don't recall his name, which saddens me as he was fantastic. He was working the front desk and we had placed an order across the street, the delivery time kept being pushed back. I stopped to inquire if that was normal. He walked across the street with us to help check on the order as part of picking up another guests order. He found us waiting in line and after dropping off the first guest's order came back over to assist us. The guy had to sprint as quickly as he was back. He researched the issue and explained they had a technical issue that our order was lost. He assisted in getting it put back in so by the time we got inside our order was fresh and ready. Upon returning to the hotel he had a couple of bottles of water waiting, since we had to wait on our order. It had nothing to do with the hotel, but this employee went way above the normal customer service. I seen this with other employees as well.
The room was fantastic and even though our balcony faced the Sawmill, by 9:00 pm the noise level was such that we could sit outside, drink our coffee and enjoy the beautiful city lights.

Hotel Chaco had been closed for over a year because of the pandemic and reopened not too long ago with new unseasoned staff and management, I was told. The architecture is contemporary southwestern and the public spaces, restaurant and rooms are attractive. Traveling with a friend, we did have an issue with the room upon Check-in, but it was soon resolved more than to our satisfaction. Our room was spacious, attractive and comfortably furnished, with a balcony facing the lovely grounds and pool, and more than enough electrical outlets. I truly don’t understand previous reviews complaining about the lighting situation in the room. There is a under counter nightlight in the bathroom, but it is on a sensor and conveniently goes off when you get into bed and on again if you get up in darkness at night. Perfect! The bedroom nightlight at the headboard were easily turned off by a switch. The hotel restaurant was not open during the time we checked in, but there was coffee in the lobby. Their Level 5 rooftop restaurant is open for dinner and is excellent. The hotel faces the Sawmill Market, a complex of food courts and merchandise, so we merely walked across the street to get a delicious lunch. The hotel is located a few blocks from Old Town. The young staff was helpful and accommodating. I feel that when everything settles in, I would up my rating to 5. Would definitely return.

We’ve been coming to Chaco frequently since our first date here almost a year ago. – The Level 5 rooftop bar and restaurant is the coolest spot in Albuquerque, replete with 360 mountain views, stunning architecture and décor, and a seasonal menu that always satisfies.

So for months we’d been wondering what it would be like to take things to the next level for a full night’s stay…

It was MAGIC.

Chaco has the perfect blend of New Mexican/Pueblo-style features and modern beauty, and it has a resort feel that makes you think you’re in a completely different world – even if you only live 10 minutes away, as we do.

The really neat thing was that the humble/elegant vibe was alive in all the hotel staff too: they were all kind, warm and down to earth, but also sophisticated at the same time. This made for a truly cohesive, flowing experience for us.

The staff were all SO nice, congratulating my wife and I on our nuptials each time they saw us. We even got to see the waitress who served us on our first date, and she was just jumping up and down with excitement, wishing us the very best. Couldn’t imagine a better or more meaningful first married night.

Bedroom was cavernous, yet warm, with lighting accents and furnishings that made for a very romantic and cozy night. Bed was huge and comfy; bathroom was posh. And we even got to take a dip in the resort-style pool and hot tub before we left, which left us glowing.

My wife and I are eagerly awaiting our next Hotel Chaco staycation.

The hotel itself is beautiful and is centrally located to various restaurants and points of interest. There is no valet available, no help with bags, no welcome snacks in the room, while the hotel charges a fee for all of the above. Our bedroom wall had a huge booger stuck on it, pretty hard to miss if you look at the room for a moment while cleaning it. We were in contact with front desk about a reservation for Level 5, they said they’ll check availability and get back to us (via their text service) and they never did. The bar didn’t serve us since it was 9:30pm when we came up. The parking lot between hotel Albuquerque and hotel Chaco had a used syringe lying in one of the parking spaces. The front desk staff seemed to be too busy to be worried about the guests. Called to talk to the manager, got transferred to their mailbox which is full. The pool attendants were very nice and friendly and the bed was comfortable. Expected higher quality of service and cleanliness from this beautiful property.

We stayed at Hotel Chaco last night. The staff is friendly and the lobby area and outdoor patio/pool area are gorgeous. The location is also amazing, with close walking distance to downtown, and the room service was delicious. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again. We stayed in a king room with balcony and the bathroom setup lacked privacy. The bathroom has a shower with a clear panel, providing a view into the shower from the bedroom. Worse, the toilet is only partially tucked away behind a partition but can be seen through the shower panel. The sliding door to the bathroom did not close all the way and there were no bathroom vents or anything, which essentially made using the restroom or showering a public event. At night, the bathroom also employs some sort of safety lighting feature that turns on automatically using a motion detector, and does not turn off again for several minutes. We could not figure out how to deactivate this light and so any mid-night trips to the bathroom woke both of us up by illuminating the whole room. The air conditioning turned on and off all night and was very noisy when shutting off, sounding like a loud door closing. I am not a light sleeper but probably woke up at least ten times during the night.

The location is good and the lobby is pretty but that's where it stops. There is no concern for hospitality or guest service at this property. We arrived at 300, hungry from a road trip and there was nothing to eat at the hotel. They will sell you alcohol but not even one chip or peanut to go with it. The rooftop doesn't open until 400 and is closed on Monday. There is no place in the hotel for breakfast and there is no mini bar with snacks in the room. Given that there is no breakfast room it would be appropriate to have coffee in the lobby each morning. It is hotels like this that drive people to stay in an Air B n B which are a fraction of the cost. I always stay at hotels for the service and amenities but both were lacking here. I agree with the other review on the weird night lights in the bathroom. We booked a suite because the photo online showed a nice balcony but instead we got a little, dark, unappealing space almost entirely enclosed by cinderblock. If booking a suite be sure to specify that you want one with a glass walled balcony. While the NM state requires masks many of the staff wear then beneath their noses. After the valet pulled up with his mask beneath his nose and the windows closed in our car we started parking our own car. When I tried to checkout there was no one at the desk for a full 10 minutes. He finally came in carrying a muffin and coffee from the place across the street. Then he gave me a bill which showed a 30 dollar amenity fee each day. I complained as there were no amenities and he removed it. Our daily rate was as much as many gorgeous properties where the management understands customer service. In all a very disappointing stay.

Pleasant staff, comfortable bed, soundproof and clean rooms but nothing special. Good WiFi, but when you pay an extra $30 resort fee for it and other “amenities”, papers should be delivered to the room. First impressions count; a dirty entry is an immediate downer. The pool is well maintained, but the groundskeeper should pay more attention to the condition of the atrium area. Not a do over.

I had two back-to-back stints at Hotel Chaco recently for a series we were shooting in the area. I can't speak highly enough of the staff. La'Monica, Julian, and Aaron, made my stay incredibly enjoyable, and were always willing to go the extra mile. The rooms are comfy, the location ideal (across from gourmet restaurants and caddy corner to old town), the pool large enough to swim laps, and the rooms are very well insulated (IE: noise is at a minimum). I can't wait to stay there again!

When booking rooms at nicer hotels, I always try to book directly through the front desk or hotel itself. I try to do this because as a businessperson myself I want to see the hotel maximize Revenue but also by talking with people actually onsite I can get a better idea of the room's ambience, amenities, location, views, etc.

In booking a room for Hotel Chaco, and after considerable searching, I found what I believed to be the number for the front desk. When I asked the fellow that answered if this was indeed the front desk he replied in the affirmative. Alas, I was misled. It was an outside service hired by the Hotel to relieve itself of the burden of taking future guest's calls.

Long story short- I did not receive the requested room type. When I asked of the front desk for a room change I was told that I received the room that I had requested on the hotel's website- neither of which was true. And of course they are 100% booked so they are unable to provide the room type that I had requested even though I have checked in early.

Guidance for future guests? I'm not sure. It's a beautiful hotel in a great location, but be prepared to take pot luck on room types. And be prepared to be repeatedly told the new maxim "I'm sorry, but there is nothing that I can do."

I was traveling through Albuquerque on a road trip from CA to TX. I'm a bit of a hotel snob and thought that the Hotel Chaco looked nice online. What I found was a beautiful boutique hotel with lovely rooms, appealing outdoor spaces/pool and fabulous location near Old Town and the new Sawmill Market. The front desk employees were so kind and welcoming giving me walking directions to Old Town and tips about the different amenities of the hotel. Once in my room, I was thrilled with the authentic feel of the decor and thoughtful design elements. Not one detail had been forgotten from outlets being where they should be, excellent lighting with dimming features, beautiful bathroom, again with great lighting and a magnifying makeup mirror. The HVAC was super easy to program and very quiet. Now the bed....it was like sleeping on a cloud with luxurious bed linens. My only regrets were that I was only staying one night and that the rooftop bar/restaurant was closed the day I was there. I honestly can't wait to return to enjoy this hotel and the area longer (I hear they can set up glamping and tours of Chaco Canyon which will definitely be on my to-do list next time! Oh and make sure to walk across the street to the Sawmill for a meal. It took about an hour for me just to decide which cuisine to try as everything looked so delicious....and great outdoor areas to enjoy your food and drink! Thank you Hotel Chaco. You are doing it all right!
