This is a very nice, quiet place to stay in Ajo, Arizona. It is quite a bit nicer than one would expect for a small, more or less out of the way town in southern Arizona. It would be a great place if you are going to visit Organ Pipe National Monument as Ajo is the closest town to that park. The room was quite large and comfortable. They don't have wireless internet in the rooms.

Hello and thank you for your kind review. We're so glad that you enjoyed the rooms. They are very special. We're also sorry that you had trouble with the internet. We do provide wifi to all our guest rooms. We typically cover that during check in, but also the information regarding it is on the card we provide all guests. Again, sorry about that. We hope to see you again when the time is right.

I cannot say enough about how great the SDICC is. Not only does it have a beautiful location, wonderful amenities, and a great staff, but it is also a non-profit with the honorable mission of community-based development in Ajo. My fiance and I chose this location for our wedding and had to put our plans on hold due to COVID. We will definitely be back when all is safe and we can't stop recommending the place to our friends! For our wedding, the staff here were so helpful. And every time we went to Ajo we could truly see how much of an impact they are having on the community. Supporting them is supporting the RIGHT kind of grassroots development AND you get to have a kick-but vacation or event!

I stayed three nights at the Sonoran Desert Inn in January of 2020. The room was large and very comfortable. The mattress was amazing! The building is a former school, so my room was half of an old classroom. Fun! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Other than coyotes howling at night, the place is extremely quiet! This is a perfect place to stay wile visiting the Organ Pipe national Monument, or while hiking nearby.

We were visiting Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (just ahead of the virus shutdown), and spending 2 nights in Ajo made sense. We discovered the Sonoran Desert Inn by chance and very much enjoyed our stay there. We brought meals with us, so were able to use the kitchenette; we enjoyed the courtyard full of growing vegetables, and it seemed others who were there also were enjoying their stays. The high ceilings in the old school rooms were delightful. While in Ajo be sure to walk or drive up to the view of the big mine pit, and check out the old style city square.

Unexpectedly interesting, funky (in a good way) rooms, wonderful staff, who couldn’t be more helpful in restaurant suggestions. Found probably the best in town, Farmers Market Cafe. Ate 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Does not have beer/wine. Order from menu at desk, pay, they bring food to table. Excellent food!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay here! There may not be an abundance of restaurants to choose from, but what we do are great. The Farmer's Market does some truly incredible things. Please come back and see us again!
