It's been a while sense I stayed at a dedicated Hilton Hotel. It was fine; nothing to write home about. The reason I stayed here is that I am a Gold member, and my roommate and I were able to utilize the $15/per day to eat and buy items in the mini store. The location was nice, just a block from the convention center. I had a tall truck, and parking across the street in the city parking lot was convenient and just $25 / per 24 hour period, with in-out privileges. I didn't like that the Starbucks inside the hotel no longer took cash; a bit of a pain.

We appreciate you staying with us and taking the time to share your thoughts. It's great to know that our convenient location and voucher for the mini store added to your experience. We understand that cashless payment is a newer concept, and we're sorry that it negatively impacted your experience. We hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, The Team at Hilton Salt Lake City

The check in was a breeze. Our reservation was found quickly and our room was ready. Parking was under the hotel, so parking was also a breeze. The concierge answered many questions about how to get to Tabernacle Square, the length of the walk and where parking was located. The walk to Tabernacle Square was easy and about 15 minutes away. The Hilton is within easy walking distance to the Salt Palace Convention Center as well. The room was outstanding. Breakfast in Trofi was outstanding.

Overall the stay and room were great. Big rooms and big bathroom. Parking underground with easy access to the hotel. The room and property was very clean. Until the heat went out in the middle of the night, in the room and it was freezing. Called to have them come fix it and took over an hour and a message on the app for them to come up. Maintenance was in and out of the room trying to fix it. Finally asked them how much longer it would be and they couldn’t give an answer. I asked them to step out and got ready for my day. Had a long day the previous day and the day ahead too. Stopped by the front desk they did make up for the inconvenience however, would have liked to get sleep in a warm room.

The room was large and nicely furnished. The hotel was centrally located and near the convention center. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. The staff were polite, helpful and the lobby was large and beautiful.

The problems with this hotel began at check-in. - I arrived with a lot of luggage and asked for a bell cart. It was clear that I was struggling - I also have a spinal disability and can’t carry heavy items. The front desk never looked up at me when I requested one and merely said “they should be there. If not they’re not”. I asked another front desk person who got me one from their office. Clearly they had some and the first agent was too lazy to get one so she blatantly lied to me. - I received a text from the hotel welcoming me and asking how the check-In went. I articulated my pleasure to be there but disappointment and concern having been denied a bell cart. I also asked for a clean room. No response from management for the duration of my stay. Not one word. - The bathroom was not clean. I asked for another room and it was denied because they were full. At no time did they offer to clean the room. I had to use their towels to clean the floor, the shower wall that had hair on it, and around the toilet that had dried urine around it. - First morning breakfast I asked for milk for my coffee. It came curdled. I asked for fresh milk because white dried milk was floating in my coffee and the server got upset, rolled his eyes and said it was fresh. - On day 3 they cleaned our room, though poorly. All towels but two were taken away and not replaced. I went to the front desk and asked for fresh towels. Here’s the conversation (note the agent never removed her eyes from the keyboard to acknowledge my presence). (Me). Good afternoon, would we be able to get fresh towels? They weren’t replenished when our room was cleaned. (front desk) Room number? (Me) 1234 Front desk (Yeah) (Me) thank you. Front desk (yeah) The towels never came. After two hours I personally asked the concierge to get me towels and he indicated he never received a request from front desk. I chose Hilton for my extensive global travels. As a Diamond member, this brand does what it can to make the stay of weary travellers who oftentimes would rather be at home, comfortable and welcoming. This hotel missed the mark in every way. My next trips in coming weeks are to Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Taipei, and Bali. I can say without hesitation there’s no chance I’ll remain a Hilton member of this level of service was standard. Truly disappointing. When I return I’ll be at they Hyatt across the street. I highly recommend that property.

Comfortable hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet at night. Quite a few channels not working on the TV. Not a big deal since I was out and about in the city. Right in downtown tons of things within walking distance.

The only reason I am even offering two stars for this hotel is for the location and affordability--not counting the $25 charge for parking (that they don't waive when staying on all points--as is the standard) . I reached out prior to arrival on the messaging service on the Hilton app about any possibility of upgrades and received no reply--this is a first and sets up the level of service you should expect from this Hilton. My check-in was smooth--though curt and not exactly friendly.. I used more points for a 'Mountain View' room as the peaks east of Salt Lake are amazing to see. I was given a room facing west and while there were 'mountains' you had to look way past the city to see them. I was also given a room right at the elevator--when my Hilton profile reads specifically that I prefer being as far from the elevator as possible. The rooms themselves are in rough shape and it's due time Hilton sink some money into this hotel if they're going to have it continue to fly the Hilton flag. Location is what truly makes it. Easy walking to all sights and while downtown very easy on/off for all the major arteries. The Peery, a Hilton Tapestry collection hotel, is directly across the street and looks quite nice but given it's age, position at an intersection, and being only 3 floors high, I can imagine noisy. I'd very likely consider the Doubletree a few blocks down if I were to return. It's sad to see a Hilton at this standard of disrepair and with such lack of service.

Nice proximity to downtown and airport. Staff is very helpful, friendly. Don't know if it was just my room, but the lack of air conditioning made it very difficult to sleep during my stay. Thermostat said 64 degrees and it was not. I normally sleep in 73 degree temps comfortably. Unfortunately, did not sleep much during my three night business trip, but everything else was great. My stay and experience in SLC would have been better if the A/C worked better.

After a bad experience arriving in Salt Lake with our AirBnB, I cannot praise Hilton and their hospitality enough. Trying to find a place at 3am was a challenge, yet Mele working the front desk made it the most calming experience. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. Mele went above and beyond in getting us settled in. Wish there were more people in the world like her. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a beautiful Mountain View.
