#45 of 80 hotels in Salt Lake City
The Peery Hotel, established in 1910, is a historic landmark hotel whose architecture is rooted in the Early Prairie and classical revival styles of the time. The renovation of this Grand Dame pays homage to the many time periods during its operation, thereby creating true American Heritage style. The interiors have a "collected over time" feel with unique and unexpected art throughout. Many vintage inspired pieces are mixed with some of the original antique pieces creating a fresh historic feel that is more unique than the heavy traditional hotels of old. The hotel is inclusive and accessible to the business and vacation traveler alike. The Peery is a historic hotel with a modern spirit.

Just an awful experience. I'm not sure where to start. We arrived late. Our room was under stocked. Only one wash cloth. No soap. Etc. The message light on the phone was blinking.... during our entire stay. Nobody could figure out how to turn it off. I called the front desk several times. All they could do was assure me that I had no messages. That did nothing to the annoying red blinking light next to my bed. According to the front desk, the hotel was recently bought out by Hilton... and is no longer operated by Choice. IDK if that's true. But, that was the explanation we got for this annoying stench. Apparently, the new owner is refinishing the bathrooms. The smell was toxic and permeated the facility. We were offered an alternative room, but it too stunk. Maybe new ownership will make a difference. They have a long way to go.

Very historic, quaint hotel. Coffee and water service in the lobby each morning was great. No fridge in room, but that was our only complaint. Walking distance to many eateries and other attractions. My 9 year old wanted the hotel to be haunted. We got nothing though. Haha!

The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We also had great experiences with the housekeeping and maintenance staff (a pull-out sofa wouldn't pull out). The location and value are excellent. The only "criticism" is the breakfast off the lobby - I ate there once, but $6 for instant oatmeal with a few berries seemed ridiculous. Others in our group who were happy with muffins went back.

A large group of us stayed in the Peery for several nights, celebrating a family wedding. The wedding venue was just across the street, which was great for the 91-year-old grannies in the crowd! We got an excellent rate at this hotel and were all able to stay in one place, which made things easy. Rooms were a reasonable size; some of the bathrooms were small but ours worked out well for us. Beds very comfortable, and it was nice having a small fridge in our room. It's a very handsome place, with lovely woodwork and furniture in the public spaces. We had breakfast one morning in Christopher's Prime, the onsite restaurant; my granola with yogurt and fruit was good, but others were less impressed with their choices. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Lots of excellent restaurants very nearby, though some of them were closed Sunday evening. The biggest downside for us was that the unshaded bathroom window let in a lot of heat in the afternoon and a lot of street noise Friday and Saturday evenings. Thingsawere much quieter on Thursday and Sunday. But altogether it was a nice stay; I'd be happy to return!

Private and Cosy. The gentleman at the front desk was cordial and friendly. Very close to nice bars, clubs and restaurants, all within walking distance. Our room was clean and everything was working. Coming back soon
