I have been staying at Carlton Hotel for several years, each year several times, for 2 nights at a time, and it's a home away from home. I've always enjoyed the friendly service and the well maintained historic rooms, many are large and some of them suites. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast to order is a... More

I am hesitant to even publish this review because I really like the people who own and operate this hotel. I have stayed there multiple times over the past several years. I always return because of the friendly employees, awesome Temple Square/City Creek Center location, free local shuttle, and affordable rates. The hotel was never fancy. The decor is dated,... More

The Carlton is rather ancient. Rooms are worn, but clean. Hosts very pleasant. Weekly price can't be beat. Free shuttle. No iron or hairdryer in room, but I think you can request them from desk. The property next door is also owned by the hotel. It is terribly run down and seems to serve as some sort of halfway house.... More

First time visitors to SLC and this find was great. Cheap for an overnight stay for 2A& 3Ks perfectly situated for walking access to city tourist spots and restaurants. Breakfast was included and the chef experience was worth the cost to see the children's faces when they experienced old school service from a hard line cook who owned her space.... More

If you have traveled in Europe, you will recognize the cozy feeling of an out-of-the-way inn. Except this is right downtown within walking distance of almost everything. I felt as if I were staying in a B&B. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend the Carlton without a second thought. If I ever get back to... More

Clean, spacious and highly organized hotel. I love this place. I highly recommend as its relatively cheap, clean and really well taken care of. The entire room is larger than a one bedroom in NYC. There was even a kitchen. And it only cost less than $100 after tax. Wow.

This 1926 hotel was the perfect location for sightseeing in Salt Lake City - A block and a half from Mormon Square and a half block from a lovely shopping center with plenty of restaurants to choose from. This was especially important because if you leave this area, there are alot of homeless people that make exploring the rest of... More

The mall has a great variety of stores and restaurants, a creek running threw with fish as well, in the evenings the mall has a beautiful outdoor water w/ fire fountain show every... More

We always stay at the Carlton when we visit Salt Lake City to do Genealogy. The staff at the Carlton are great, very friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast is made to order. They provide transportation to and from the airport and also to and from the Family History Library. The building is old, but kept clean and neat.

My family stayed here for three nights while in town for my oldest daughter's wedding. We stayed in a suite with two rooms (open to each other) and a small kitchen area (sink, counter, cupboards, small fridge, and microwave). We brought paper goods, but there were also some plates, silverware, and knives in the cupboards for use. The room also... More
