Cannot beat the price at this hotel directly across from the family research center and temple. Easy walking distance to everything, including great mall for food, shopping, and supplies. If you need to venture farther than you can walk, there's a tram stop directly in front of the hotel. Older hotel, doesn't have 5-star amenities, but what it does have is a great staff, clean rooms, and excellent service. Rooms seem to have been updated, with nice linens and furnishings. Bathroom could use a modern update: but it was clean and had everything you'd want in it. No restaurant (adjoining restaurant had just closed down the day before I arrived), no room service. Pool and hot tub well maintained. I appreciated the free airport shuttle. Had to check out long before my flight was ready: desk staff easily stored luggage and gave great suggestions for things to do, plus had nice "living room" where I could rest and refresh from day's activities before the shuttle picked me up. Probably the best bargain in town.

Dear Jo D Thanks so much for taking the time for your review. The restaurant is back running after having to shut down for a few days. Please stay with us again.

Best thing about this hotel is the location - literally right across the street from Temple Square and the main downtown area. We walked pretty much the whole time and we were able to do this because the hotel had a great location. Hotel and rooms are a little outdated, nothing amazing. However, they seemed clean and had plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and they gave us lots of towels in the bathroom. I would stay here again and recommend.

We last stayed in this hotel some 14 years ago, and it doesn’t seem to have changed and moved with the times. On the plus side, it is in a great location being one block from the LDS Convention Centre and Family History Library, as well as City Creek Centre. Directly outside the hotel is a tram stop, on a direct line from both the airport and downtown. On the other hand the decor is dated, air conditioning very noisy and the pool is small and unappealing. There is no restaurant on site, although JB’s is next door. So you have to decide if the outstanding location out weighs the less than perfect interior.

Dear Alan G Thanks for your review. Actually the sleeping rooms got a make over a few years ago. The bed package and all the soft goods, the window drapes were all redone , including all brand new carpeting. We are hoping to get the case goods done soon, which are dated. The sleeping rooms are very ,very clean, thanks to a great housekeeping staff. We are looking for upgrades in the lobby this summer and fall. We will soon be replacing all of our Simmons Beauty Rest mattresses. And by the way the J,B,s restaurant is connected to the hotel and they also provide room service. Once again thanks for your review. We will continue to work on upgrading the hotel.

Excellent location in city centre adjacent to Mormon churches complex, Family History Centre, the upmarket The Creek shopping plaza. Tram (light rail, 'Trax') stops at the door after 12-15 minute ride from airport (Green line, $2.50pp. $1.25pp over 65). Free shuttle offered (with tip). This is a quality hotel although it does not reach the standards of Little America two stops further on. Room is well appointed with good bed, safe, microwave and tea/coffee facilities. Book early and the tariff can be v. good. Negatives include: TV setting poor (horizontal); bathroom smallish; not enough hooks; unnecessarily complicated tap and shower head and drainage in bath. JB's diner is on site if you like American diner food.

Tired and hungry after traveling all day, we called for the free shuttle. We were told someone would be there in 15 to 20 minutes. After 30 minutes we called for an uber, so much for free shuttle. Finally in our room there was food left in the refrigerator and the room needed a good cleaning. I would not recommend this hotel. The only thing going for it was the location.
