The hotel is located right downtown and close to EVERYTHING by foot, scooter, bike or train. The hotel is clean and the staff there is AMAZING. Everyone we interacted with from the General Manager to the housekeepers were helpful and friendly. Parking charge is the cheapest of all of the hotels downtown. The grounds are nice and the pool (to bad there is no hot tub) was an added bonus! Breakfast is exactly what you find at Fairfield with friendly service!

I was on a stop over in SLC and without a car. The Fairfield Inn was an excellent place to stay for me and I could walk to Temple Square in about 12 minutes. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful at giving directions. Breakfast was fine and my room great for the price. I used City Tours to see the sites and they pick up from the Sheraton ( a 5 min walk). Public transport is easily accessible too.

This hotel NEVER informed its customers in their websites that their pool had been CLOSED for a quite awhile. If I knew about it, I would have reserved nearby that has one that is open and works. My kids were looking forward to it but very disappointed. Front desk don’t have knowledge what is going on their area that can be pass to customer’s inquiry. We walked further than original plan by their advised. Knowing what the area has to offer is part of the industry. Service call takes a very long time. Busy? Under staffs? Not customers issue when waiting for over an hour. Unacceptable! However, housekeeping kept our room clean even change our towels that were hanged and one of our comforter with slight stain. Our coffee maker condiments were replenished too. Although the staffs weren’t proactive, they weren’t rude either. That’s a good thing. Breakfast is just right to me. Lots of protein and fewer carbs. They are fruits and yogurts too. Location is not far to main attractions. Not busy either in comparison to LA or NY. What I supposedly paid for the lodgings didn’t par with the service and amenities expected. There were inexpensive hotels 3-5 miles away with free parking but sacrifice the price for the amenities and distance. Isn’t this a Marriott?

There is little of note to say about the hotel to be honest, and this is a good thing for this line of Marriott. The location is indeed very near to downtown locales, including my favourite restaurant in the city; Valter's. The area is rather dark around night time however, and areas of the parking lot are mildly spooky. A big mystery, which I found mildly amusing and bewildering (also caused me to rate one less point) - was that the entire bloody room shook like a parkinsonian for 10 or so minutes every few hours. I'm talking straight up earthquake style, floor shakes, bed shakes, if you had water in a glass it would percolate noticeably. I was in room 316, and I am sure this would be felt in adjacent rooms. It must either be a laundry device that is not dampened properly, an HVAC flaw, or a secret underground government testing facility. I kind of settled into this, but if you do not like your hotel rooms to shake - it may be a bit of a shock. If you can look passed this; It is budget friendly, they have clean sheets, a good pantry store, and all other hotel goodies that one wants when they are on the road. It's the best end of 'budget' and a good choice to rest your head on the road.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 weeks in May and encountered no issues. It is a standard Fairfield Inn which is the budget friendly Marriott brand. Check-in was a breeze and the free parking was a welcome feature. We were "upgraded" to a King Suite which had a couch and a king bed. The room was clean although the window air-conditioning unit put out a very faint dank smell. The bathroom was also clean though the shower door leaks and the bathroom floods. These are all thing I expect when I book a Fairfield Inn and thus did not have a negative impact on our stay. I would recommend this hotel for the budget conscious traveler staying in Salt Lake City, as it far outweighs most of the budget friendly options downtown. My one real complaint would be the loud music from the club behind the hotel on weekends. It goes until 1:45am. If I managed this hotel I would aggressively pursue a noise ordinance against this club.
