I stayed with Rekona on a prolonged trip to Gizo working at the nearby hospital. The lodge was ideal - close to the market, waterfront, shops, and only a short walk into the hospital each morning. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were kept beautifully clean. The shared kitchen was very well equipped. I stayed in the lower level of the Island Wing, the rooms had a fridge, kettle, en suite with hot water, air con, and a fan. I found I was easily able to keep cool! WiFi was also available for free in the reception - considering that WiFi is patchy on the island, a major advantage! I would definitely recommend staying here!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We stayed in the Rekona Lodge in Honiara as well and really enjoyed our stay. On this reason we decided to book also in the Rekona Lodge in Gizo. Very nice accommodation with good price-performance. Very quiet and peaceful location, the staff is very friendly and helpful. In a short walking distance to the harbor, market and town center. We would stay here again anytime!
This was our 2nd holiday to the Solomon's and the 2bd time staying at Rekona. We syated 2 nights before venturing out to Seraghi village. Rekona is a perfect stopover for us to stock up on groceries have a hot shower and a good nights sleep before going "off grid". The facilities are great and the staff friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, just back from the waterfront and handy to the markets and stores. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
I have visited Gizo this year and have been accomodated at Rekona Lodge. Like others have mention I have enjoyed my stay. If you are running on tight budget try out the $320 room its not aircon but there's ceiling fan that do the work. If you planning to visit Gizo check out Rekona Lodge.
Rekona is one of the best places to stay in Gizo - it's really good value for money! We stayed for one month in one of the upper floor rooms with air conditioning and a beautiful balcony. The whole place is well maintained - the staff work hard to keep the rooms tidy (they come in and clean/make the beds every day!) as well as the kitchen, which is cleaned once per day. They're really accommodating, friendly and helpful. We loved staying at Rekona! If you are coming in summer and can handle the price difference then the upper air conditioned rooms really seemed a lot nicer than the other ones. We squeezed 4 people in to 1 room to keep the costs low and it was worth it for the nice room! The location is great - only a 10 min walk down to the market and less than 5 minute walk to Dive Gizo…
