my parents stayed here last year and suggested that I do the same, I am glad I listened, a great 3 night stay, the peace and tranquility is so relaxing and the staff were amazing, if you are looking for something that is eco friendly then this is for you

If eco-tourism is important to you, consider this small property, which consists of two beautifully carved and constructed beach-front bungalows - and two (slightly less desirable rooms) attached to the main house. Wilderness Lodge is well-integrated into the surrounding village of Peava on the island of Gatokae, located in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. This means your sun-drenched... More

It was such a pleasure to spend four nights at Wilderness Lodge! The location is perfect and the bungalow accommodation was beautiful and comfortable. We had to pinch ourselves - sitting on our own jetty watching the sunset. The staff were incredibly friendly and obliging, always happy to help or share a story. We were sad to say goodbye. The... This place is AMAZING! My husband and I stayed at The Wilderness Lodge early September 2015. When searching for a travel destination we wanted something Island-y, relaxing, remote, naturally beautiful.. Oh.. and had to be somewhere we could spearfish! This place ticks all those boxes and more! All apart of the adventure was the tiny 8 seater plane ride (over... More

Previous reviews cover what's available and the set up. What touched us was how welcomed we were made to feel, nothing was too much trouble. It is true the coral gardens and marine life are quite amazing, as the views are tranquil, the people genuine and warm and the food cooked with love and care. I thought it was well... More

Excellent bungalows, excellent staff, excellent food. It takes almost 2 hours by boat to reach Wilderness but you forget about that the first minute you are there. The place is beautiful and quiet. The bungalows are really nice and comfortable. The staff is very professional. The food is really good, too. We had tried different resorts after several month in... More

Wilderness has only 2 bungalows (each holding up to 4 adults) plus a small lodge containing 2 simpler, dormitory style accommodations and the family-style dining area. The bungalows are truly beautiful - semi-open-air, spacious, very comfortable platform beds and seating inside or outside on the deck overlooking the lagoon, with doorposts carved with traditional animal and spirit figures. Each bungalow... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Lodge, which is wonderful. The bungalow where we stayed is perfect: beautiful, spaceous and completely matches the rustic atmosphere of the place. In the last two days of our stay, we ha to move to the smaller rooms, as the bungallow was booked, and we do not recommend it - was way... More

For intending travelers please be aware that this is an eco style lodge. It is not a 5 star resort and it doesn't claim to be. Go somewhere else if that is what you are looking for. Like many others I reviewed Trip Advisor carefully before making the decision to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I spent 8 nights in... More
