This island resort is on a beautiful private island. Rooms were clean with rainwater showers. Food was great and Nosaki ran a good restaurant! The local staff were amazing and made my trip entertaining and comfortable. Dietmar, the owner, was welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed Rosy's night tour with headlamps. Guests would benefit from having access to some outrigger canoes... More

Anybody who is disappointed with Lissenung will have made the wrong choice and only have themselves to blame. This is back to nature on a small tropical island with basic mod cons. With a max guest capacity of 14 people you are made personally welcome immediately. The food, service and whole operation is spot on. And the diving is the... More

After a red-eye flight from Singapore to Port Moresby and about a 10 hour lay-over before the flight to Kavieng, I finally arrived at Lissenung Isl. where I was warmly greeted by Nosaki who basically gave me a quick orientation of the place and showed me to my cabin. Small little details like lending me a torch to get around... More

We had a few days after a a work trip to Kokopo and we decided to fly over to Kavieng. Everything is very efficient and competent. We were perfectly looked after for the 3 days. We have 2 days of diving and the sites were among the best we have experienced. The boat is great and the house gear was... More

Laid back piece of paradise in PNG. This place had everything we were looking for; outstanding diving, beautiful location, great (and plentiful) food and friendly, helpful staff! We booked Lissenung for the diving and decided, a month beforehand, to also have our wedding here. Dietmar was the consummate host -he put on a ceremony that was over the top! Native... More

Lissenung stands out from the crowd. Who wouldn’t be left swooning by its romance, beauty, charm and privacy? Thanks to her owners, Dietmar and Ange, a charismatic and down-to-earth couple who love what they do and do it exceedingly well. Here's the lowdown: Setting: Picture Robinson Crusoe meets mouth-watering meals and awesome coffee! This gorgeous island is big enough to... More

A group of us went to Lissenung on a dive holiday. Some of us had a great time but a couple had a different trip. The staff are all from the local village and were all very pleasant but quiet Firstly, Lissenung is a remote little island that relies on mother nature for water for us to shower and wash... More

It's quite a trip from Europe, but worth it. A small white sandy beach isle surrounded by a turquoise sea. Resort with bungalows without A/C but we never missed it. Two big opposite open windows with anti-mosquitoes nets let the air pass through the room during the night. We didn't have high humidity climate during our stay. Room was well... More

My husband and I have just returned from Lissenung Island Resort and LOVED IT! We stayed in room 3 and it was perfect, after a morning of diving a quick nanna nap was required and we always had a breeze in our room. Talking to others their rooms did not get the breeze. Winning! We got to met some wonderful... More
