We stayed in the Deluxe Tree Houses for two nights as part of a three week tour of NZ. I was teary when I saw the room, as it was so peaceful, clean and lovely. There are several different types of lodging here and a laundry room, which is managed through an app (and we used it). But it does get busy with all the dorm lodgers. Breakfasts were fine, nothing extraordinary. Dinner was also quite good. Overall the team was very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again the next time I’m in Franz Josef.

Loved this place! Booked the 2brm luxury treehouse apartment for two couples and two babies. Cozy and warm, huge rooms, nice amenities (included some wee wines and beers, massive breakfast baskets and Nespresso pods) and a very private location. The spa on the deck was amazing and well utilised even though it was raining. Overall loved this place and would def return.

Gecko cottage stay was really lovely. Spacious, super clean, really warm with lovely decor. Spa pool was lovely way to unwind at the end of the day. Very private and quiet. Will definitely stay again. Pricing reasonable and always happy to find plunger coffee and refrigerated water in accommodation.

I stayed in a powered site in my camper with my family. This is probably the prettiest camp we've stayed in with so much lush planting and little rainforest walkways. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot Tub and sauna although the latter could use a little maintenance. Only one point to note it's the most expensive laundry we've come across in NZ, $8 a wash or dry. Overall a lovely place to stop on our way up the west coast.

My partner and I stayed at the Deluxe Rainforest Retreat and the only complaint we had was that we wished we had booked 2 nights. Nestled in the rainforest, within close proximity to the town centre and overlooking misty mountains, Rainforest Retreat is a gorgeous property with delicious food (Monsoons review published separately), shared sauna & hot tub. Our room wowed us upon first entry. The modern furniture, high end amenities, soft bed and balcony make this well-suited to high end travellers looking to escape the busy township. The speakers in the bathroom were a unique and well received touch. I couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the property and service from staff. I look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful and spacious unit, great shower and condiments. Fully usable kitchen and many places to sit and enjoy coffee and sights. Has large sized car parks and it is ideal having a restaurant on site which we gladly used and didnt have to do any driving

This is a Holiday Park in Franz Josef nestled away in a forested area that includes all levels of accommodation from self contained camping areas to deluxe rooms. All seem to mesh seamlessly, quiet and peaceful. We stayed at a Gecko Cabin in Gecko Village. The cabin was cozy and comfortable and perfect for the price. We spent two nights in Franz Josef - Arrival night after coming over the Haast Pass, and 2nd night after exploring Lake Matheson, Fox Glacier, and Franz Josef Glacier - in that order. We ate two dinners and one breakfast at Snakebite Brewing, which is off property, but just around the corner - fantastic food. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Nice location near Franz Josef Glacier. Staff very friendly. Good sized hot tub. Amenities good and clean. Onsite restaurant, plus more in town. Tried to switch to cabin as it was raining, but they were all full but looked nice. Friendly and helpful staff.

We visited for 2 nights in March 24. Overall the rooms were very nice to stay in, the beds were very comfy and had plenty supply of tea and coffee but only a small carton of milk. Hotel was busy full of students though so was a bit noisy at times. Laundry service was decent but be warned its by card payment or mobile only no cash. Breakfast was decent but lukewarm by time we got to the room but had a good selection. Back in the room the shower was decent but nowhere really to leave wet towels these were not replaced either. Looks like the cleaners only came in to replace the tea bags etc. Finally the view from the room was just...other rooms. It was a peaceful location though in a busy Franz Josef so overall it was a decent experience but could be bit better.

Our room was lovely and location is good. We had one of their higher priced deluxe rooms (can't recall the exact name) and it lived up to the billing. The restaurant was just O.K. I wouldn't recommend eating there. Nothing was bad, but our second night we just bought cheese and crackers for the room.
