We spent 1 night at Clearview and it was a great experience. A welcoming host, great breakfast and fantastic views. The room was very comfortable and opened out on to a patio overlooking the farm. Although the bathroom facilities were shared this posed no problem to us. Highly recommended.
Travelled as a party of 3. Peter is a warm, welcoming and hospitable host; it was a shame that we missed his wife Jacinda, who was away during our stay. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean, the beds comfortable, and the settings tranquil. Breakfast was a thoroughly enjoyable experience- a satisfying continental breakfast complemented by views of the surrounding farm, complete with cows, chickens and peacocks, against a backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery. Overall, a lovely stay with a wonderful host, and great value for money- highly recommended!
Lovely farm based B and B. Nice room own little deck to sit out. Welcoming hosts and lovely dogs too. Close to good cafe at lake Mathieson about 20 mins walk away. We were to be treated to double rainbow against the backdrop of the mountains while we had dinner. Breakfast with amazing views of the mountains.
We had an enjoyable two night stay at this wonderful place. Our family of five stayed in two rooms and we were made to feel at home at all times with their warm hospitality - it felt like we were staying with friends. Our three children had fun playing with the family dogs and interacting with Peter & Jacinda's children. The rooms and bathroom are very well maintained and comfortable. The views from the house overlooks wide, expansive farmland and on a clear day you can see Mt Cook in the distance. Very close to Lake Matheson and Fox Glacier town yet away from it all. The owners were very friendly and helpful and there's free wifi. They have a steady stream of international guests and we can understand why. We highly recommend this place if you're looking to experience warm NZ hospitality. We will definitely come back.Thank you Peter & Jacinda.…
I stayed for the second time at Clearwater B&B. This is a lovely farm stay where you feel like a most welcome guest not just a paying client. The second night there was a power outage due to the cyclone. Peter found a gas lamp for me to read and went to the Pub to learn the news. I stayed back with the cat and had a lovely time. As there still was hot water I could even take a bath. The family is lovely even if this time I missed on meeting Jacinda and the children as they were stuck in Ross due to fallen trees on the road. The next morning Peter boiled the water for the coffee in the Billy Boy and we had a sort of camping atmosphere. Thus even in rough conditions this place can be mostly recommended. It is five minutes from Lake Matheson being the ideal location for sunrise or sunset photo shootings.…
I have stayed here twice now, firstly 9 years ago while I was on honeymoon and this time we took our two children, being 4 years old and 3 months old. Peter the farmer looked after us very well and made us feel very welcome again. Breakfast was lovely. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The surrounding of the farm are amazing with mt cook in the distance. And a selection of animals wondering around to look at. Hope to visit again on our next trip to New Zealand. :-)
We had a terrible day in Fox Glacier, and this B&B was a real comfort. Peter was a very friendly gentleman who offered us an upgrade to the double room for free and tea/coffee when we arrived. He gave us useful tips about sightseeing while left us the space and time to enjoy ourselves. Bougee the dog was really adorable, we had so much fun with him! The farm was beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was nice enough. The B&B has a great reputation on Chinese travel forums, and it surely deserves it. Xiyi
We had a couple of nights at Clearwater farm, while we visited the glacier to do some ice climbing. The house is lovely, with great light and views of the mountains. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. All was very clean. Peter was really friendly and helpful, and chatted to us a lot about farm life - very interesting. The dogs were locked away during our stay, but were friendly when I approached them. Breakfast was a nice continental, with a treat for me of some coco pops (don't normally let myself!) Not sure why Olivia G wrote such a bad review - we had a lovely time, and felt very at home and looked after. We would thoroughly recommend it.
