Usual buffet breakfast. Ok set evening meal.
Our room was near to reception so having no air con was an issue when coaches were outside with the engine running. Also in mid summer very hot at night

My wife and I were touring New Zealand, on a 15-day tour arranged through Travelmarvel by APT, and so all hotel arrangements were made in advance by them, meaning I have no idea of the cost of the room or how well the hotel communicates with customers making direct bookings. The booking was for one night only, so my experience is based on that only.
The room was nice, with a great view and a large comfortable bed, but had no safe and no iron / ironing board. The staff were nice and friendly and the food was good, both in the evening and at breakfast on the following morning. It suited our needs perfectly.

My husband and I stayed at this accommodation to do our helicopter trip over Fox Glacier.
It is an older style hotel with plenty of charm.
Our room was on the first floor, small but comfortable. Renovated bathroom, with a nice hot shower. More than suitable for a one night stay.
Our view was facing out to the main street and mountains beyond.
Be mindful that this accommodation does not have a lift, so you will need to carry your luggage up stairs.
We had dinner here too. Plenty of choice and meal was delicious.
Breakfast was included in our accommodation. However for some reason the day of our breakfast it was not in this building as advised on check in. We had to walk to the Heartland Hotel Glacier Country which was a five minute walk located in the main street where there was small buffet breakfast. Food was adequate to start the day.

We stayed in Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier for one night. The building was looked old but the room had been refurbished recently. It was neat and very clean, the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were thoughtful that they gave us the room in other building (rather than above the pub/restaurant as it would be noise in Easter Saturday night). So we had a good sleep. Plenty of parking on the premise. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The portion was generous! I would say it was a bit of under staff on that night but they tried to do their best. I felt the service was quite different from other parts of New Zealand, more casual but friendlier and more helpful. It is pity that this hotel will be hibernated soon. COVID-19 really hurts tourism. Hope everything will be back to normal soon and the hotel will be back to business.

We stayed for 4 nights from the 11th - 15th Feb. The room was excellent - very warm and extremely clean. The restaurant was fantastic and has a great menu and the meals were very generous at a very good price. We would highly recommend staying at this property to anyone. The Manager's were extremely friendly and very accommodating to us.

This is the old historical hotel suffering from covid which is a shame. At the time they had just 5 staff trying to keep the hotel alive when so much of the country has given up. They did a wonderful job. The meals were very good especially the breakfast cooked by the barman, waiter, maintenance man and most everything else.

Great atmosphere, very relaxing, enjoyed a fews browses are a counter meal after a wet hike up to the glacier. The rooms were perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable. A kiwi charmer! We would love to go back - soon!

Old style hotel with Old World charm. Staff were extremely helpful especially with Delila at reception. She was immensely helpful with accommodating our requests regarding bedding, dinner bookings and heating within our room.
Place was clean, had recently been refurbished and was up to a good standard.
Would recommend a stay there to break up the long day driving heading south

This is a comfortable hotel, clean and quiet. The room and bed were good size and the shower also had good pressure. We ate there and found the food tasty, well presented and value for money. We used the Tesla charger with no drama. Staff were all very attentive and prompt service.

From the outside the rambling buildings can look a bit rundown and disheveled. It is. But rooms are clean and updated; bathroom was great with newer shower and good lighting. Beds fine, large clean, comfortable rooms. Happy hour in bar.
Breakfast is a good extensive buffet with hot and cold choices. Nothing to complain about - I’d come back.
Did not use but noticed a guest coin laundry.
While visiting Lake Matheson, I noticed historical panels showing hotel current buildings date back turn to turn
of last century. Not easy to operate under those conditions and this hotel team makes it work. All staff members I encountered were very friendly and professional.
Breakfast is a good extensive buffet with hot and cold choices. Nothing to complain about - I’d come back.
