This place is an insult to any paying guest! I can't believe I actually stayed a night and paid for it. The room was extremely shabby with ugly worn shag-pile carpets, ugly bed spreads and curtains and a terrible mattress that slumps in the middle so badly my husband had to sleep on the extra single bed in the room.... I stayed for one night at The Countrytime in Omerama and I wish in retrospect that I'd stayed in Lake Tekapo for two nights instead. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was nice from the outside and had a lovely setting from the garden at the back. It seemed clean enough, but inside looked as though it hadn't... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night. the room was a little dated but clean and tidy. the bed sank to the middle but the staff and meals were excellent. The evening meal was a buffet style with three meats plus vegetables and potatoes.

Caters for coach parties. Evening meal reasonable but eat before the coach party in the evening as advised by reception staff. Free WiFi connection in the public areas but signal not very reliable. Indifferent buffet breakfast after .the coach party had eaten.

Good hotel. Fantastic view. Good restaurants. Inorganized front office. You may lose your chechedin room. We got a room with a lounge. 6 hours later, reception says two things 1. I was not yet checked in although I got the keys half a day earlier. Actually another guest was given our room and he saw our things and reported to... More

Argh. A step back in time to the 60's or 70's. Positive... Clean room Negative... Very dated room furniture, bed spread was threadbare, the bathroom was so old. The whole room needed demo and a make over. Light fittings hadn't been cleaned since installation, mouldy in the bathroom, crappy shower curtain. Very basic toiletries provided Either stop before or push... More

A comfortable establishment in a small township, friendly staff, meal was good old home cooking type meals, the stay was all very adequate, but nothing outstanding, and all in need of a bit of refreshing the interior, however works well as is.

We were right beside the stairs, as soon as anyone entered or left the building through that door there was a massive bang. Since we were downstairs, the water waste from the bathroom upstairs used a pipe in the bathroom, everytime the upstairs room flushed there toliet, you knew. Had to try close the bathroom door to reduce the noise.... More

Great Location in Omarama, walking distance to hot tubs. Rooms could be refubished and beds replaced - soft and uncomfortable, no air conditioning in the rooms on the wing facing the afternoon sun, so room was very hot. Food at the local Tavern was excellent as was the staff.

After a long drive we were looking for a comfortable bed. Didn't happen. The mattress was unfit to sleep on and the doona was too small for the double bed. When informed the staff offered a free fully cooked breakfast as a consolation. The general layout and proximity to Mount Cook suited our travel plans.
