Host super helpful & offered transfers if required to start our Rail Journey & made the three couples feel welcome Beautifully clean, amazing beds (I would come back just for the beds), beautiful linen, toiletries, extra towels, dressing gowns & slippers Heating & fans in rooms Cooked Breakfast & artisan bread & latte style coffee all included - really appreciated Would highly recommend. We will come back & will tell everyone we know how much we loved it
Thanks for your hosptality. We loved staying at your B & B. It was welcoming rooms and a lovely garden where you can sit in the evening drinking a glas wine or having coffee. Euan served us good breakfast every morning. Ee hade som nice conversation together with you. We will really recommend every one to stay at this place.
The Hartley House is an amazing property and a wonderful place to start (or end) your ride on the Otago Central Rail Trail, just a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown Clyde. Euan is such a generous and hospitable host and his place is a respite - wonderfully comfortable with the best bed of the trip. The gardens overlook the river and make for a great place for a happy hour. Euan's breakfast was top notch and just the fuel we needed to start our day. Euan not only upgraded us to a larger room but also was kind enough to drive us to the train station for our bus to Queenstown. Highly recommend this beautiful place to stay!!
We stayed here for only one night. Euan (owner) was kind enough to upgrade us to the Retreat room since there was a last min cancellation. Retreat has an en-suite bathroom so it was great. This B&B is a top class accommodation - all the pics are accurate. Bed is very comfortable, high thread count sheets, super clean everywhere, nice towels - everything you need for a quiet comfy stay. The property itself is gorgeous - wonderful gardens, beautiful flowers and birds singing all the time. Euan is a pretty chilled out Kiwi and present on the property to answer questions or guide you if needed. Jazz the springer spaniel is friendly and adorable. Please make dinner reservations in advance since there aren't a lot of restaurants in this small town. We ate at Paulinas and it was absolutely delicious. Euan cooked us a tasty sumptuous breakfast the next morning. He can also do continental breakfast if you prefer that. Met a wonderful couple at breakfast. Sorry guys - we forgot to introduce ourselves! There are walking tracks and bike tracks along the river and there is a Four Square in town about 5 mins walk away. It closes at 7 pm on weekends.I would highly recommend this B&B and would love to be back to see Euan in Clyde some day.…
What a gem, a beautiful home and our rooms were perfect. Ewan was the consumate host and he made the best coffee of the trip. Breakfast was divine. All in all it lived up to and exceeded our high expectations.
