This B&B is located at the end of a street with its own long driveway. The room was small but clean with a shower, kitchenette and portable heater (important in winter). Breakfast was limited. However, it is within walking distance to town. The innkeeper was very friendly and suggested we do not drive ourselves to Cape Reinga but take a... More

Wow, this place is something else. Hidden away down a track on a housing estate in Kaitaia is this little gem of a place. Owned by Alexander and his family, they run this B&B with such friendliness and charisma that you cannot help but feel at home. We stayed in the back room which was a 2 bedroom suite. It... More

Not a lot on the positive side which can be said about this place, except that the room was clean and the bed quite comfortable. Tucked at the end of a suburban street. Ridiculous house rule about taking off shoes before entering the rooms or the dining room. Bathroom arrangements most inconvenient, necessitating taking a shower in one area (with... More

Safety is very important so this BNB suits because it is down a drive off street parking. There is a lovely well kept swimming pool however with a bedroom/ unit looking into it. I felt like I was imposing on their privacy. We had 3 units and they were all reasonably large. The main down side with our accommodation was... More

Our room was in a row of small cabins in the garden next door - clean but very small and had obviously been 'refurbished' as a DIY project. The room was very hot when we arrived and didn't really cool down. Breakfast was good with cooked option available as well as cereal, juice etc. OK for a night but too... More

We spent two nights here, primarily because it was convenient for our day tour of Cape Reinga / 90 mile beach with Harrison's. There's not a whole lot to do in the town itself, but as a base for exploring the north, it was convenient. The place is clean, in a good location, had enough space for us and it... More

The house and garden are at the end of a cul de sac in a residential area. The room was rather small but well equipped. The hosts were friendly and helpful and gave some good restaurant recommendations and booked us on to a trip to Cape Reinga, pick up from the door. A cooked breakfast is available in the price.... We stayed at Water's Edge B&B for a couple of nights, chiefly to take the trip up to Cape Reinga. We were warmly greeted by resident owner Alastair. The room was reasonably sized with a huge king bed and a second room with a single, plus the usual small kitchen as well as separate toilet and shower room. (Possibly shower... More

We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Although the room was not large the bed was very comfortable -bathroom very clean and new. The breakfast was excellent and delicious with eggs and bacon, fruit and muesli, orange juice, tea and coffee. Great place to stay if you are... More

I stayed for two nights at the Waters Edge and did a tour up to Cape Reinga on the day between. The room was quite small but the bed was a good size. I had a little trouble finding the B&B (it is at the end of a lane off a side road) and the parking is a bit tight... More
