We visited this beach town before the busy season began. Beautiful modern room with ocean view. Kay and Peter are warm terrific hosts and breakfast was delightful. Ask them for a shovel if you are visiting Hot Sand Beach
We very much enjoyed the hospitality of Hahei Horizon B&B. Kay and Peter are extremely helpful lovely people. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast with view terrific. The outdoor jacuzzi is also great. Thank you for making our stay so special.
We stayed here for 2 nights in October. Peter and Kay were excellent hosts. We had a huge room with balcony and it’s own private entrance. The breakfast was superb - scrummy eggs and bacon plus fruit salad, yogurts etc. Kay even loaned us a toothbrush charger as we had forgotten our one. Peter kindly drove us to the car park to do the Cathedral Cove walk which was amazing. Very good location close to The Pour House for food and drinks. A very comfortable stay.
Lovely couple who own the B&B. Very clean and great views while eating breakfast. Very helpful with places to visit. They drove us to the car park for cathedral cove as there is no parking there. Thanks for a great stay
My wife and I travelled around NZ with another couple in January 2019. After Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Islands, we came to the Coromandel Peninsula, staying at the Hahei Horizon B&B. Hahei is a small and very laid back beachside community with great views, great weather, a lovely beach and access to various activities on the water. It's quite a drive to get there from anywhere else but well worth it. Everyone is very chilled out. Hahei Horizon is a private house B&B on higher ground overlooking the bay. Peter & Kay, proprietors, are very welcoming and friendly, giving us lots of information about the area and things to do. Twice Peter drove us in his car to local beauty spots to spare us a long walk in the heat before starting our activities of the day. Breakfast was taken on the deck with great views, all freshly prepared and served in a very informal and personal way by our hosts as we and they chatted about our plans. We had the family room which was spacious for two, with a simple kitchenette and a small private terrace which offered some shade. Our companions had an upstairs bedroom. From this base we took a RIB boat ride off the coast, walked from Cathedral Cove (after a lift there as mentioned) and visited Hot Water Beach. We stayed three nights and all members of our party agreed we would love to have stayed longer if our itinerary allowed. After a couple of weeks of touring it was so relaxing. Thoroughly recommended.…
