Pros: Peaceful part of the Montanita beach. About 5-10min by walking to the town (where it gets noisy in the evening). Hostel is about 50m from the sea, so 1min walking. Hostels grounds is nice, with buddha statue and lush surroundings! We had top floor private room number 10, which had huge comfy bed. Spacious and hammock outside of the room. 👍 Really old aircon machine in the room, it gets the job done, but it is super noisy. Cannot keep it on during the night without earplugs! Bf varies daily and it’s nice! Daily joga classes are good, cost 8usd pp. Waterpressure was nice and shower warm! Cons: They are building new area to the hostel at the moment so sounds of that may be annoying (gonna be ready though at some point!). Aircon is seems to be really old and the laudest I’ve ever countered. Rooms dont have safes. Wifi is what is, not the best. Didnt like that much that one member of the staff (i think at least) were smoking (not tupacco) at the front desk. This was only one time and otherwise the staff was amazing! Overall: really nice joga place for surfing and relaxing! Staff is amazing! We felt it was a bit pricy compared to the other places, but check it out yourself! Would definitely stay here again! …
Awesome place. Location is perfect, just far enough from the noise that you can sleep peacefully, but within striking distance. They have in house yoga thats so good, a whole bunch of locals stream in daily. Food is awesome. Surf boards on site and right across from the beach. The staff is really sweet and chill too (like concierge, bartender, yoga master built in one). Also, great place to meet and chill with fellow travelers Thanks so much!
I love this spot. The team here was super nice and helpful throughout my entire 28-day stay. The rooms are clean and provide the necessities, including AC if you're here when it's hot. The food was fantastic, with delicious vegetarian options prepared daily. Water and coffee are also available throughout the day. My favorite part: the location. A 30-second walk gets you to the beach. You're only a 10-minute walk from the town, so it's quiet at the hotel, but if you want the activity of the town, you're about a kilometer away, which I found to be perfect. There are a couple of restaurant options closer than town too. Would absolutely stay here again if I make it back to Montanita!
A business is only as good as the people that hold it together and casa de sol has some good people there. Jackson Jessica and Danny are some of the best people I have ever met! They made me feel comfortable and welcome. They truly made my trip special (so special I came back lol) the rooms were comfortable, the breakfast were healthy and delicious, and don't get me started on the yoga classes... They were challenging and accessible and the teachers were supportive and encouraged every one to try but never pushed anyone to do something that could injure them. I made some beautiful memories there and I would DEFINITELY recommend people to try it out. I know I'm coming back next year!
You won't find a more beautiful, peaceful, comfortable place in this area. The land is great, and you can see toucans, piapias, hummingbirds, all kinds of butterflies including morphos, motmots, redthroated turkey birds, armadillos and more. The sunsets are unbelievably beautiful. The house has everything you need. If you use Kobi, your cell phone will work. Silvio is kind, patient, a great host who is very helpful. Really, a bit of heaven on earth.
