We loved everything about this hotel, from the owners David and Ana who were always ensuring we are fine, the staff who were very helpful, the dogs , the breakfast, the rooms and the view. OMG that is a view of the cloud forest. We loved having breakfast and sipping in the view listenning to the birds. The tigrollo was my favourite item at breakfast. Make sure you try it if you stay at this hotel. Mindo town centre is a USD 2 taxi drive away and is very pretty.

The owner, David, and his wonderful staff have an uncanny ability to anticipate your next want, need or slightest desire. Giant, beautiful rooms with breakfast on the private terrace, plush beds and soft sheets, and of course, sweet dogs that are waiting to be petted, views of cloud forest, gardens with hummingbirds. We felt pampered and completely at peace our entire stay. But there's also so much to do! Canyoning, rafting, ziplining, hikes, butterfly gardens, hummingbirds, bird tours, coffee and chocolate tours, swimming, night walks, you name it. David, the owner, planned and set out everything for us, including two half-day birding tours with Julia, the first female bird guide in Mindo. She was phenomenal--spotting birds across valleys, hearing and identifying so many songs, immediately getting the scope onto birds, and taking pictures through the scope. Her passion for birding is contagious. Mindo has so much to offer- we went here for our last two days (instead of dealing with Quito's craziness), and it was a super easy trip to the airport. Definitely adjust to altitude or enjoy the nature and outings here, and spend more than 2 days. We ended the trip wishing we had planned more nights in Mindo, and at this lovely hotel. Delicious food, too! There's a reason that this hotel has five stars! I just wish we could give it six.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our travel to Ecuador this summer. We mainly came here to see the birds & enjoy the local sights. From the beginning David was excellent in correspondence and he sent a nice driver to pick us up and drop us back to Quito. We even stopped at Mitad del Mundo on the way back. Coming to the hotel itself: it was unbelievable. Beautiful, surrounded by cloud forests and tons of colorful birds in the vicinity. Anna gave us directions to all the spots we could see and arranged all the tours for us. We did a night walk, chocolate tour, bird walking tour and a waterfall hike and we were quite pleased. We went to the town every day we were there, and we would try to walk but Anna or David would be happy to drop us off if they were on their way. Mindo town is really cute and has good restaurants. We tried an italian & arabian spot, they were really good. Breakfast was included in the package and it was the best. I could eat the granola and fresh strawberry yogurt with fruits all day of my life. Overall I would not think twice before booking this place again. I am already planning my next trip ;)

Great place! Beautiful views! Great food! Had a wonderful time in this little piece of paradise. The owners attend to the guests in a very homey fashion. Nothing like going on a hike and coming back to a jacuzzi with a view of the mountains. Will return!!
