Sisakuna

Wonderful trip to a nature paradise. So much to do- hummingbirds, bitd watching, night nature hikes, rafting, zip lines, canopy rides, chocolate factory, offroading and white water rafting, butterfly sanctuary and lovely local shopping markets!

Rooms are nicely appointed and comfy. Each is pretty unique - like living in a private village that exists within and surrounded by nature! Many beautiful birds and hummingbirds frequent the plant life all around you which makes it pretty magical. Its like the resort is an unofficial bird sanctuary! Pool is great, temperature controlled with 2 jacuzzis and a few cool pool side suites! Weather is lovely, Sunny but not oppressive. The Restaurant prepares delicious local cuisine as well as fan favorites like pizza. food and service is super. The wood oven pizza is especially surprisingly good—(im from New York so i like to think i know a thing or 2 about pizza ;). The staff are all so friendly and attentive and go above and beyond to provide what you ask. It feels like family and you can tell staff enjoys working at the resort. the bar’s drinks are unique and addicting. Feels like you are in an oasis at the edge of the town a quiet street but not far from neighboring markets, services and stores.
Also about 1.5 hours away from the middle of the world and capital which provides even more value and fun. Sisakuna is Great for families, couples and adventure seekers alike and i hear it has plans to expand which sounds like a really good thing. I Can’t wait to go back again!

Stopped here for lunch during our two day tour of Mindo. The outdoor restaurant is surrounded by beautiful flowers and Hummingbirds. My kids got milkshakes which were excellent. Entrees included chicken with passion fruit sauce and grilled trout with lemon sauce. The trout was over-sauced in my opinion and would have been better with less but it was still tasty. The plantains were a bit on the dry side but overall it was a good meal for the price.

Sisakuna Lodge provided a delightful stay in Mindo, Ecuador. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel at ease throughout my visit. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals, perfect for refueling after exploring the cloud forest.

The accommodations themselves were comfortable and inviting, providing a welcome retreat after a day of adventure. Whether you're seeking relaxation or a base for exploring Mindo's natural wonders, Sisakuna Lodge is a great choice.

Basic room, warm water is warm!
The cleanliness is medium and the humidity is very high but there are many birds in the inner garden. This hotel is well located to visit the forest in the clouds and really see many different birds!
Lunch is very good and the small restaurant for dinner is good!

The hotel delivers excellent value for the cost. Compared to international ratings, I would assess it as an above average medium level hotel. The rooms, public areas, restaurant, pool etc are all immaculately maintained. Very clean and well cared for at all times. The couple who own it and run it are unfailingly polite and responsive. All the staff are friendly and helpful. An outstanding feature are the beautiful plantings which create the feeling of a little oasis. The plants are so well cared for they run the risk of looking fake - a huge amount of care is evident. It would be great if some of the plants had their names displayed.
We had a "suite" by the pool. Suite seemingly meaning a larger room with its own little patio. Perfect for families who have children wanting to play in the pool and the adults could relax in one of the two jacuzzis. The staff do an excellent job of managing jacuzzi times. They also do close the pool area down promptly at 9pm - and this reduces the noise level immediately. Great location - again for families or those wanting to be close to the little shops and restaurants.

We spent two nights in the lodge and felt very comfortable. The room is spacious and clean, mosquito screens keep pests away.
The breakfast with fresh fruit was very delicious.
The open restaurant also allows bird watching. We ate there twice in the evening and the pizza in particular was very good. The location is quiet and you can quickly get to the forest from there.

I had an opportunity to spend several weeks at la Sisakuna. Very comfortable and clean rooms, extremely friendly staff that cater to all your necessities and let you know that you are at home. Lovely dining hall and dining services include a great menú for all types of tastes, and most of all, they will cater to any special requests. When I am in Mindo, Sisakuna is HOME :-D Highly recommended... your paradise awaits you!

Stayed only one night at Sisakuna Lodge while on a whirlwind tour of the country. Beautiful hotel with amazing birds and flowers. The rooms are individual cabins with a hammock chair on the front porch which was a great place to relax and listen to the birds. Didn't give it a try but the pool and hot tub looked very inviting. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both delicious and the staff was very nice and helpful. The location in town is good too - easy walk to everything. Will stay here again when I revisit Mindo!

Siskuna Lodge provided us with an enchanting Ecuadorian experience. Beautiful birds, flowers and a great room. We stayed in Suite 1 with a huge bed, spacious shower and cabinetry that I would love to recreate at home. No complaints about the food; especially the vegetarian options. Siskuna Lodge makes a great jumping off point for terrific immersive experiences in and around Mindo. Ziplining over the cloud forest canopy, multiple butterfly forests, hummingbirds that will eat from your hand, hiking, and more. One of my all time favorites!

Hi! As far as I know there is no laundry. There are cabins that have a second floor that can accommodate the kids... just be careful with the stairs. Hope this helps!
