My wife and I had a wonderful experience with the staff. Zoe and Bobby (Valet) both were stand outs and went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. The food at Ferraro and the in room dining disappointed us, but both manager spoke to us and were genuine in considering our feedback which is all I can ask for. I expect that it might also be that my wife and I were picky or that we just had some bad luck. Either way I expect the food staff is on top of the situation. The breakfasts we had were great and we really enjoyed them each morning. American Express completely messed up our booking and refused to take any accountability for it until days after our vacation ended. Zoe the assistant resort manager helped close the gap between what we had booked and what American express booked on our behalf. She did not have to do that as Four Seasons had done everything right and held no responsibility for the issues with our booking. Going back and fourth with American Express each day created a pretty negative cloud over our trip and I think Four Seasons managed to come out as the big winner in our minds as they found a way to break through that cloud and offer us a positive experience despite the poor service we experienced from American Express. I think that is a big deal and Four Seasons deserves credit for it.

Hotel's Favorite
The Four Seasons, Wailea is a gorgeous and magical property. Our family of 8 just spent four nights here after spending three nights at the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu. Our intention was to spend a fifth night at the resort but one of our three rooms had a crying baby next door. Unfortunately, the poor baby kept us up all night, every night, and woke us up early every morning. The hotel staff checked in on us daily via text, but was unable to change our room as there were no other rooms available with two beds. Pools and outdoor areas are truly spectacular, like many other guests, we had issues getting chairs at the adult pool. Lots of options with shade but we were told that the chairs with shade were $100 per pair (should have gotten them because my husband now has a terrible sun burn). Our kids and teens LOVE the kids club and game room and quickly made friends with other guests staying at the resort. Gym is beautiful and we didn’t use it but hope to on our next trip. The guys played golf and loved the experience. We took a surf lessons but it was not a good experience as the beach area was crowded and the waves were not great (even for beginners) so don’t expect to be able to surf in this area during the summer. Little things could have gone a long way at The Four Seasons, Wailea. We were not greeted as we arrived to the hotel. We weren’t given the traditional welcome (with Hawaiian Leis, etc). Amanda at the front desk was sweet but we felt a bit on edge after checking in, as she just pointed us in the direction of the elevators. We had to turn back and ask for a map and for some more information about the hotel (as it was our first time here). The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and bright with nice balconies. We definitely would have appreciated stocked minibars (instead of having to run out and buy snacks and drinks for everyone to have on hand). Rooms were missing cloth shoe bags and laundry bags (we were sent plastic ones). The hotel is LARGE and our three rooms were in different parts of the hotel. Expect to do a lot of walking and ask for rooms near the south tower (it’ll save you lots of time). Our meals at the restaurants at the resort were good and breakfast was great although Spago absolutely missed the mark on many things at our dinner there (albeit the server at Spago was phenomenal and truly tried to help). All in all, the property is really amazing and we look forward to returning soon.

Response from Mark Simon, Marketing at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
Responded 4 weeks ago
Aloha to the Segal family and thank you for your insightful comments. It appears from your comments that we missed several standards - such as the lei greeting on arrival, a personal escort to your room and an orientation along the way. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay overall, but my sincere apologies for missing the all-important personal welcome to our resort. If I may be of personal assistance for your next stay, please feel free to contact me. Warm regards, Mark mark.simon@fourseasons.com

We stayed 5 nights and had a great time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had no issues getting chairs at the pool. The beach has limited space so getting chairs there can be a little harder. The breakfast was very good with a large buffet or you can order from the menu. The French toast with Hawaiian bread was particularly good. The room was quiet and very comfortable.

This was our 6th year back to Maui and our second year staying at The Four Seasons Wailea. From The moment we arrived, the team remembered us and greeted us by name - car attendants, beach and pool attendants- it was really awesome that they remembered us! Everything about this fabulous hotel is why we come back, and will be booking our rooms again for August, 2023. Service here is impeccable- we have been to many hotels in Wailea and no other hotel comes close. We have found our annual summer vacation home and cannot wait to see our Four Seasons ‘Ohana’ next summer. A hui hao! (Until we meet again)

This was our 2nd family trip to Maui. We stayed at The Ritz 3 years ago. I'm not going to compare this resort with The Ritz as things may have changed there in the past 3 years. The only thing we were disappointed with was Spago. I really don't have anything nice to say about it, so I won't. I felt like The Four Seasons care about preserving and sharing the local culture and history. We enjoyed listening to a story about star navigation and going out on the outrigger canoe was super fun and we even got to see a sea turtle! (Thank you, Sole!) The housekeeping crew were very efficient and friendly. Rachel is the best wait staff by the pool! The rooms are super spacious. I wish we had the same bathroom at home. Lots of dining options nearby. We used the car service when we were tired, but walked to most of the restaurants. Kids and I loved the ice cream cart that showed up most afternoons by the pool. The beach is amazing, especially with the crew to set up the beds and umbrella. We did have a plumbing issue and had to change rooms, but were adequately compensated. Thanks to the staff at the resort, I was able to celebrate beating cancer by having the best time ever! Over all 6 out of 5 stars!!

We had the most incredible time at the Four Seasons in Maui. Sari (front desk) went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The bartenders to include Becky, were also great and provided suggestions. The concierge was very knowledgeable and provided great suggestions, and helped with making reservations. The bellmen, including John and the female driver, were professional and also provided great insights. Thank you to the amazing Four Seasons Staff!

I’ve stayed at many hotels in Maui over the years. The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is far and away the best. The rooms or beautifully appointed, modern and well maintained. They also feature excellent storage space. We’ve noticed recently that many hotels are short on drawers and closets. Not here! The service is impeccable. You can tell they preach high standards at this hotel. No matter the position, attention to detail and guest satisfaction is a top priority. I highly recommend this place. Interestingly enough, in May of this year I stayed at the Four Seasons In Florence Italy and they knocked it out of the park as well. Four Seasons has mastered the art of fine hospitality.

Staff are beyond spectacular , each and every encounter. food was always a 10/10 and we are not easy to please! They booked our private tour for Hana Road (you must get a guide, dont try it yourself) and Ryan the tour guide was the most pleasant, knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had around the globe. As a 9th generation Hawaiian his knowledge level of the history of Maui was outstanding. He was also very helpful with other recommendations for our 9 days. The concierge was also amazing. The chat and texting options with the concierge desk was so efficient and effective. Loved it.

This was our third time staying at the Four Seasons Maui and somehow this place keeps getting better. Room renovations are fantastic, the grounds are beautiful, but the service is what sets this place apart from everyone else. From the moment we arrived our entire party (including a 10 and 14 year old) was treated so warmly. The pool staff was spectacular, housekeeping was on time, and little issues were quickly addressed. For example, I have a nut allergy and noticed the bathroom products all contained macadamia nut oil...one call to housekeeping and hypoallergenic toiletries arrived. We never waited more than 2 minutes for our rental car, but not sure why we had it since the resorts house cars were always available to take you around. In sum, a hotel room is a hotel room...some are nicer than others, but its the service that sets a resort apart and the Four Seasons Maui does it better than anywhere I've ever stayed. We will be back!!!

If you like waiting in line for at least 30 min for every single meal or fight for a seat at the pool, then that's the place to go! They offer a little more than 100 poolside seats while hosting around 1000 guests at the same time - so just do the math. Nice property but not much to show for unless all you need for your vacation is: I was at the Four Seasons.
