I'd like to rave about the staff at this hotel. Matt, at the beach was a fabulously attentive staff member that took excellent care of my daughter & me during our most recent stay. My daughter had lost a very sentimental, yet inexpensive piece of jewelry in our room and we were both a bit devastated. There had been a miscommunication regarding keeping housekeeping out of the room until we could search for it after an early morning sailing trip. We returned to fine our room had been cleaned & the opportunity to look for it in the bed, carpet was lost. Housekeeping does an excellent job at this property, which is a plus! However, I brought this to the attention of the front desk & explained how we asked for the cleaning to be put off...what happened next, touched my heart greatly. Samantha Derby, who is part of the management team of housekeeping, personally searched through a vacuum to locate this jewelry. I was so floored by this because she went far beyond anything I could have ever imagined and was exceptionally grateful. She sent the most gorgeous floral arrangement to our room! Her care is something that will stay with me for a very long time.
This resort offers a healthy option menu that is Gluten free, vegan and worthy of a 5 star rating. From the soba noodle salad on the pool menu to the curry dish at Duo, THANK YOU! Ferraro's did an exceptional job of creating a "custom" salad for us during a few lunches and tailoring an Asian dish to be GF. *As a side note GF soy sauce tastes the exact same as the Gluten version, and if the resort made the switch, the dishes at Spago could also widen the options for foodie travelers.

I reached out to the hotel regarding GF bakeries and they were able to create a delectable GF coconut buttercream cake, after inquiring about favorite flavors and preferences. This was a great surprise for my daughter!

Our room was bright, spacious and had a wonderful amount of storage. Lately, I have travelled to many upscale resorts and hotels that lack adequate dresser space and offer mostly hanging space which as a heavy packer, this is a drag. But the FS has a large dresser with full size drawers to put all items away, which I love!
We've been coming to this property and Hualalai for over a decade and it has been kept in top form.
Thank you for allowing us to unwind and enjoy a wonderful stay. This property has a plethora of exceptional staff, which made our stay magnificent.

Aloha traveltounravel, and - wow - thank you for sharing such a personal story. This is the type of thing we encourage our employees to do on their own volition, and I am so glad to hear that it touched your heart - and your daughter's. Thank you for mentioning the gluten free options too. We make a big effort to lead the way when it comes to food allergies, as a luxury resort it is a must that we meet all of our guests needs. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Warm regards, Mark

This is our 8th consecutive January stay at the Four Seasons Wailea. The resort has become our peaceful winter escape and place to reconnect and indulge, made easy by a welcoming and accommodating staff who remember you, greet you by name and in some ways feel like family. We love the open-air lobby and beach-front location and always request an ocean view room so that we can catch the beautiful sunsets on the spacious lanai. We’ve enjoyed both pools, and find the service there accommodating and timely. I realize that during busy times there is a need to get your poolside seating early, but this seems to be the case no matter where you stay in Maui at the height of tourist season and doesn’t really bother us. We’ve learned from experience not to rent a car because the hotel has a convenient car service that will take you to most local restaurants. This was an especially special stay for us as we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and were overwhelmed at the steps the Four Seasons took to make this a special time for us. Mark S (dir of marketing) and James M ( asst dir of rooms) personally greeted us upon check-in to congratulate us and offer their personal assistance in helping to make this a memorable stay. We can’t thank them enough and are forever grateful to them as well as the incredible concierge staff, who knowing that this was our anniversary, alerted both Spago and Ferraro’s (the hotel’s two incredible restaurants) so that not only did we have tables with incredible views, but were treated to special desserts and/or a glass of champagne. I wish I knew everyone’s name so that I could acknowledge them and thank them individually but let me just say I’ve never seen a staff that is more efficient, warm and hospitable...true examples of the “aloha” spirit.! Can’t wait til next year!

One of the best resorts in the world, no question. Somehow, Four Seasons has managed to exceed all expectations, even during a COVID-19 world. From the moment you set foot on the property you understand that the safety of the guests and hotel employees is priority #1. But what is amazing, is that the resort has managed to make it feel effortless and non obtrusive. Wristbands identifying guests vs visitors, temperature checks at all main access points and all restaurants/outlets, as well as the thorough cleaning process that is exhibited throughout the resort made us feel so safe and comfortable. I personally watched everyday as each beach/pool chair was cleaned and sprayed between guests, salt and pepper shakers were sanitized and cleaned between table settings, chairs, tables, counter tops were meticulously cleaned time and time again. You can literally eat off the floor in the resort if you had to, it's unbelievable.

Now, with all of the new safety protocols in place, the resort has managed to never miss a step when it comes to what defines Four Seasons customer service. Everyone from the General Manager to the Bus Boy, is dialed in and on the same page. It's obvious that the customer service training and guest experience is an obsession for everyone who works there. Anytime we had a request, it was yes, anytime we needed something, it was absolutely, what a remarkable way to spend a week in paradise. The rooms, restaurants, spa, gym, kids for all seasons, everything was just on a completely different level than any other place in recent memory. We had great meals at Duo, Ferraro's, Spago and the poolside grill. Some of our favorites were Focaccia and Seafood Cobb at Ferraros, Spicy Tempura Pool Side, A5 Wagyu and Chicken at Spago and the breakfasts at DUO were always great.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could, what an amazing week in Maui!

Tough call on four or five stars. We had a five night stay and the first 3 days we had excellent service (breakfast, pool side, beach side, valet). We were there the week before President’s Day week and we saw a steady increase in guests but still below full vacancy. Towards the end of the trip, the pool and beach side service were getting overwhelmed and resulting in material delays in service. At these room prices and drink and food prices, and with the Four Seasons name, that should not happen. The week after our stay was a major school vacation week so will be interested in the reviews to see how the service was.

With that said, I still rounded up to five stars as the food options were very good, the condition of the hotel is excellent and the service the first three days was outstanding. We have stayed in Four Seasons Nevis and Anguilla and this was probably the best overall resort of the three.

This resort need to get with the times and stop using so many plastic water bottles. Especially in a delicate ecosystem like Hawaii, there should be reusable water bottles and water filling stations.

Quick tip - if you get pool side early enough, you can order off the Ferraro menu as the pool side menu is on the smaller side.

Also Wailea is a sunnier micro climate than other areas of Maui so be sure to check the weather specifically in Wailea as it may be sunny there but raining in more northern regions.

Aloha JayBoy76, and thank you for your kind review and insights. You will be very happy to know that we are in the middle of converting away from plastic bottles to a water system throughout the resort that will allow for filling hydro flasks. We beta tested the system on the third floor in the north tower and have 14 more dispensers on order. We expect t to begin installation before summer. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back soon . . . Warm regards, Mark

I can’t say enough good things about this resort. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had an ocean view room with a view of the interior courtyard and the ocean in the background that was perfect from our lanai. We spent a few hours each day at the adults only Serenity Pool, which was gorgeous, the service was impeccable, the food and bar delicious, and the view to die for. We walked each morning along the beautiful beach, and enjoyed smoothies and light breakfast from the lobby bar. The valets were also amazing, as we went out each day to explore the island. They always had our car ready with cold water and fresh towels in case we needed it. We were also able to experience both the Duo Steak House and Ferraro’s. Amazing food! The concierge helped us make reservations both times, and even text me to make sure I had any and all updates. We loved this place. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Yes, the setting is stunning with its immediacy and intimacy reflected in the public spaces and outdoor setting. Service is faultless with every whim catered to. We enjoyed our meals here, with particular fondness for the food and guitarist/vocalist (think Joan Baéz) at Ferraro’s. Any problems were handled with efficiency as if the staff’s motto were “no challenge too great!”

So why not a 5? When we booked the deluxe ocean view room, we should be dazzled by more than a view of the South Tower wing. Further inside can be seen a peekaboo view of the ocean, with a slightly more expansive view from the lanai. This was a room similar to the partial view category that we chose ten years ago.

But we will return for the reasons stated at the beginning. It is so nice to feel spoiled once in awhile.

One of the best resorts we have ever stayed at!
Loved the Lobby Lounge for drinks before dinner. The staff at the bar were so friendly and creative with their cocktails. The glasses were beautiful and always felt like a special "treat" and paired great with the view and live music! Great place to grab drinks before dinner.

We had a garden room on the lower level. Was nice to be able to walk out to grass and down to the pool. Only complaint was that we had somebody very loud above us. We finally complained to the front desk who promised they would send somebody to their room to discuss. We heard them again the following night but it wasn't as bad as the prior night where they seemed to be partying until 5am! I wish the rooms were a little more soundproof in that regard as it kept us up for a few nights.

Loved the music in the bathrooms and the large TV in the room. Having the ability to "chat" with the app was also great when we forgot to take our privacy sign off the door and wanted turn-down service.

I had a massage in one of the ocean huts. It was very relaxing but the spa itself is not worth the money. The "relaxation room" is loud and bright and there aren't really any other amenities besides one steam room. Also, in order to get to the ocean hut for the massage you have to walk through the pool area in your robe. The robes are thin. It is not a comfortable experience and I feel like they need another way to coordinate that part or perhaps change into robes in the huts?

We loved our meals at Ferraro's and Spago! Great food, service, ambiance and views.

The serenity pool is amazing and we only had an issue getting chairs one day. Otherwise I think they have a good system that eliminates chair hogs :) Great views and great drinks at the pool bar there!
We did get a cabana one day at the lower pool and I will say this was a huge disappointment. When we checked in that morning, nobody explained to us the benefits or what came with the cabana. They said somebody would be checking on us later (they gave us his name but I forget it now) and that person never came. A woman did end up coming by later but perhaps she thought somebody else had already explained it all to us? It wasn't until 5pm that they told us we had a bottle of champagne included with it and also food options.... none of which we got to enjoy when we had the cabana. Also, random people kept sitting in the reserved chairs in front of our cabana and it seemed nobody enforced this?

Regardless, cannot wait to return to this resort!

From start to finish our stay at the four seasons exceeded all my expectations. We have never had a resort vacation before and now we are spoiled to the four seasons life. We stayed at the four seasons on a reduced rate and were expecting to feel the impacts of that during our stay. I can say we felt the very opposite, from check in we were upgraded to a Garden view executive suite from our previously booked Mountain View room. We received champagne to our room complimentary for our anniversary and were treated with the utmost respect by all staff. They really make you feel like royalty. The resort has taken extra care for Covid precautions and double checks your test results as well as taking temps when you enter the resort. Pools were spectacular, we spent most of our time at the adults only serenity pool. Chairs are first come first serve and we had no issue sitting immediately. Drinks come to your seat and you receive a pitcher of water when you arrive. Views are amazing, service is impeccable, impressive all around and we will be back!

I wanted to quickly share some feedback since our arrival yesterday.

We are completely blown away with how well your team has created a safe and sterile environment during this pandemic. We were, of course, a wee bit (I grew up in Canada!) nervous at traveling in general but decided our family tradition of turkey in Hawaii (at the FS’s Maui) was something we needed to continue.

So even as our plans for Deer Valley and Punta Cana were scuttled, we were hard pressed to make this trip happen. We have been holed up way to long in our house and we all really needed to just get out and do something for our sanity. But the trick was how to do it while staying healthy and safe.

On our arrival, I went to shake Daniel’s hand, but he kindly declined. I realized that how we experience our trip as we remembered has now been altered most likely forever. So the trick then is how to enjoy FS Maui every year and not get sick or make anyone else sick. This is when we were completely impressed with all the precautionary steps that the hotel has taken, and even above what we have heard about other properties on the island.

Your team (especially speaking on all our favorite concierges on the club floor) have gone above and beyond to earn our confidence that we can keep coming here even if there is a global pandemic!

I unfortunately cannot say the same for the properties on the Vegas Strip as we live in the Vegas valley. I feel the steps taken here are well above what the experts call for and this, in itself, speaks wonderfully and is no surprise of course as it is the FS’s.

By doing all of this you have earned a lifelong guest and we will certainly offer any kind of endorsement should you ever need.

We have no concerns at all about ever visiting this resort as you have shown us that you will stop at no point to make all the details precisely perfect!

Thank you again and I am already in the process of booking next years reservation.

Our family of three traveled to Maui in celebration of my husbands 40th birthday.

Upon checkin we were shown to a beautiful room with a lovely view of the ocean. The rooms are large and very comfortable, we were so grateful that they are still offering daily room cleanings and turn down (upon request).

We are explorers and spent each day out doing activities the majority of the day. As a result, we never encountered the pool chair situation as we'd return around 3-4pm each day and go out to the pool for a few hours, as most were making their way inside to prepare for dinner. This did make our window for pool side service rather brief, but we still managed to get everything that we needed/wanted and appreciated the kindness of the pool servers very much.

We'd brought special wine with us and the cleaning staff brought wine glasses in for us after noticing the bottles on the table. While this seems like a very common sense, normal thing that you'd do, you would be surprised that most hotel staff at other hotels would not put it together that you have wine and no glasses in the room and you would be calling later that night requesting them. Small things like this really set the Four Seasons apart.

I started reaching out to the concierge and room service, several weeks in advance to help with my birthday preparations and they were all very helpful and responsive which I appreciated. The birthday cheesecake was served promptly at the time previously arranged and was delicious!

It should be noted that Wailea is around 30 minutes from most of the activities that we did, so a bit more driving was involved. That being said, we still would stay there again.

Overall, this is a wonderful hotel with many more positives than negatives.

It is great! We used the garden massage, outside where you can hear the ocean. It was a reasonable price to use. Massage therapist were though and worked out the kinks well. We always make time for the spa at Four Seasons Maui.

I honestly don’t know as I was staying at the resort. Your best bet is to call them and ask.

Four Seasons Resort Maui is the best choice of hotels to vacation at on Maui. They have delicious food and activities. As COVID guidelines are ever changing I recommend calling the property and asking them these questions directly and they absolutely will be able to assist you.
