This is my mom and I’s second weeklong vacation at The Four Seasons Maui. Of the 3 Four Seasons properties we have stayed at in Hawaii, (Maui, Hualalai, and Oahu), Maui takes the cake! We were especially pleased with services, particularly due to staying here during Covid. Also, if considering Four Seasons versus The Ritz-Carlton while in Maui, book the Four Seasons without hesitation! I have a review on my TripAdvisor account about details from my (very unfortunate) solo Ritz-Carlton Kapalua stay in 2015. As there is so much to review at this hotel (we did not dine or partake in activities elsewhere), it may be best to review outlet by outlet: 1. Club: We were offered club access as repeat guests and as a recovery from a previous poor experience at Hualalai. Club was a wonderful experience and very generous of the Four Seasons Maui. The views were beautiful from the 8th floor and we felt a great sense of exclusivity. However, I do not think it will be worth paying the extra price for my mom and I only in the future. The club has 6 am – 11 pm food & beverage presentations with open bar services. As my mom and I are not heavy drinkers, and very light eaters, we are not sure the price would be worth it for us out of pocket in the future. The club would be more beneficial for larger families, who would take much more advantage of the extensive alcohol presentations. The club team were all professional, genuine, and really wanted to ensure our satisfaction during the resort’s status during Covid. Margaret, Charis, Rowena, Sharron, Rafael, Jiji, Shauna, and Pat all took great care of us. There are not enough words available in this review to describe the special touches each added to our stay. For example, Rowena was the friendly face we looked forward to seeing each evening, going so far as to look up different doctors on the island (my mom was not feeling well one evening). Charis was very open with her interesting family dynamic and let us tour a suite we plan to book on a future visit. Margaret and Shauna brought me hair gel from home as the hotel didn’t have any (I had run out). Pat shared recent accomplishments of his family. There was great personalization at the club and we really got to know everyone. Thank you!!! 2. Housekeeping: We are so happy this hotel is doing not only daily, but twice daily housekeeping services (unheard of during Covid). Our room was always in top notch condition. Housekeeping was even able to set up a flower turndown service for my mom to thank her for taking the trip. I had also ordered a flower arrangement to be delivered to our room at a certain time. All came out smoothly and according to plan. Michelle and Tangkay were our two housekeepers. While they were cleaning our room, they kept us very entertained telling us interesting series of their unique backgrounds and why they love Maui. Tangkay even helped us pack to ensure a smooth departure! Outstanding! 3. Guest Services: Everyone was so nice and remembered our names each time we walked by the front of the hotel. Particularly notable team members were James Harris, Yousef Elmani, and Kawika (aka Mr. Hawaii). They are epitome of Four Seasons hospitality. I was stranded at Big Beach (about 10 minutes down the road from the hotel). Ubers are currently extremely limited on Maui, with usually only 1 driver on the whole island at one time! Anyway, Uber kept cancelling on me. I had waited for close to an hour, was sunburnt, and exhausted. I called the Four Seasons, and James coordinated for Yousef to come to pick me up in the house car personally! Talk about a total ‘wow!’ Thank you, Yousef Kawika fondly remembered us from past stays, and James was just so hospitable and friendly. I am, also so glad they are still offering lei greetings and water bottles upon check-in despite some Covid hesitations. 4. Duo: Food at Duo this time was pretty ‘so, so.’ My mom and I shared the Waygu tenderloin, which we ended up sending back – overcooked and poor flavor. We then ordered the filet and mushrooms, which was better, but still nothing over the top. Our service staff, Brad and Marc were hilarious and made the meal. Thank you, two! 5. Ferraro’s: We ate at Ferraro’s 5/6 nights at the hotel, which is the best restaurant at the hotel (by far). The meatball appetizers are the best thing on the menu. Their ‘create your own pasta/pizza’ was very nice for guests like my mom and I who can be fairly picky and light eaters. Renato, Cooper, and Juca were particularly notable team members. Also, there were two hosts (a woman from Long Island, who had also lived in LA, and a young man (Kai?) who was a Lanai native with longer, combed, blonde hair who were warm and remembered us by name upon arrival each evening (I forgot their names). We looked forward to seeing them each evening. 6. Desk: Although we had club access, Christie at the front desk always was kind and greeted us with a warm ‘aloha.’ Christie also helped moved us to a room closer to the front of the hotel (hence ocean) for the last two nights of our stay. Lyndsay Greenan was particularly noteworthy with her close planning and attention to detail on our stay. We are very touched by how wonderful Lyndsay was to us. 7. Pools: The pools were a little bit of a hit or miss, depending on the day. Traffic was odd in that some days the pools were so packed you could har`dly hear yourself think (with very slow service), other days, so quiet, and so relaxing (but service so fast, appetizers would come out with entrees). We were astounded as to how well pool staff remembered our names. Michael (main pool), Rowena (infinity pool), Max Zemras (infinity), and Felicia (infinity) were great to see each day. Michael had remembered us from our previous stay. We had a series of service issues that day, but we could see how hard Michael was working under the circumstances – the pool was slammed. Michael really turned around our day by sending chocolate strawberries to our room! Thank you!!! Food was hit or miss, as well. The nachos were not very good – two orders came out cold, but both burgers we got on different days were great! Also, we had a salad and calamari appetizer at the Infinity Pool which were great. Free amenities pass out were also great – frozen fruit, aloe gel, sunglass cleaning, and ice cream! 8. Shopping: Retail had much improved from our last stay. We enjoyed seeing many more Four Seasons Maui logo and sundry items in addition to their higher end retail offerings. We also took advantage of the free house car rides to the Shops at Wailea. It was so convenient for us! We didn’t have to leave Waliea property. I was able to purchase a nice pair of swim trunks at ‘Cabana’ retail shop at a reasonable price! 9. Concierge: The club coordinated virtually all our meal and activity plans at the hotel. My mom took advantage of morning yoga and water aerobics, which she reported to be fabulous. Rafael was very helpful at getting us last minute tables at Ferraro’s and suggesting these activities. Between nightly torch lightings, min-luaus, and snorkeling, we never felt bored at the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and are already planning our return trip. Thank you to Four Seasons Maui!

Hotel's Favorite
This is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at, in my travels throughout the US and in 60+ countries overseas. The staff thinks of your every need - even before you do! I slept amazingly well, and partook of the spa services to have one of the best massages of my life. I also joined the complimentary outrigger sailing in the morning and had a fantastic time. Do yourself and your family a favor and book a solid retreat at this amazing resort.

Anything I say would not fully describe the perfectness of this hotel. Suffice to say that by far Four Seasons is a much better experience than other luxury hotel brands like Ritz or Montage. It was a few days of living the dream; unique quality of the resort, stunning view, amazing staff who would fulfil every whim of yours, an insane ambience and even very high quality furniture

Beautiful resort property. Everything is extremely well kept. The staff is super friendly from start to finish. We went on our babymoon and had an amazing time! Spent a few days at the regular pool and a few days at the adults only serenity pool. Chairs are much more scarce at the serenity pool so be there early (30 min before opening) to snag a seat. Shout out to Mike at the Serenity Pool!!! He was so nice and attentive. He would find us if we were in the pool or had moved to give us our drinks. Overall he went above and beyond to make sure his clients were well taken care of and we super appreciated him!!!

We stayed on the Club Floor May 26-June 3, 2021. I can only say that it was the best experience I have ever had in a hotel. I wanted to write this review because I really appreciated reading reviews before my stay, but I don’t really think any of the reviews I read quite captured the magic of the Club Level. For starters, when we arrived (rather tired from the long flight) we were greeted at the door by a staff member who whisked us directly away to the Club Level, where a staff member made us feel at home immediately, offering drinks and checking us in without any delay. This is part of the Club experience- no waiting in line to check in downstairs! Our room was fabulous. For an older hotel, everything looks clean, sleek and new. Housekeeping was excellent. We got turn down service everyday without asking, perhaps because my daughter used the pull out sofa. Bed was really comfy. One day the in room safe read “low battery.” When problems come up you can contact the hotel through the app. Responses are quick and efficient. We had the problem fixed and there were not one but two follow up calls just to make sure the problem had been remedied. Kids club was really great. Our daughter attended partial days three days during our stay. She is 9 and was one of the older children, but enjoyed it nonetheless and asked to go back again. Kids can have a lunch you preorder at kids club for $21. I found the staff there to be lovely. You can text them directly or you can make an appointment thru the app. Reservations are required and they do fill up on weekends, but that being said we got in every time we requested, sometimes last minute. We ate at Duo and Ferraros, and also enjoyed room service once. The food is expensive. It is not the best food I’ve ever had, but it’s good. Ferraros was our favorite. We really enjoyed the pizza and pasta. Views from Ferraros are stunning. They have a courtesy car that will take you anywhere in Wailea. Right now with the shortage of taxis and rentals this is huge! We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for this service. Pool is really not that big and lots of noise and kids. Very crowded on the weekend. Through the week it was no problems to get some chairs. On the weekend forget it. This didn’t bother me because we are not the types to sit out there all day. The best time for outdoor activities is the morning. We never really got adjusted to the time difference, but it’s actually a nice thing. You get up at 6 and have breakfast, get outside early for snorkeling while the water is calm. Usually in the PM the wind picks up and it gets hot. That’s when we would head back inside for a rest before staking out our favorite balcony seat in the Club for “cocktail hour!” The Lobby Bar is a pretty busy scene in the evenings if you are into that sort of thing. The mornings were my favorite so we were typically in bed by 9. After the sun goes down the view isn’t nearly as spectacular anyway. Finally a word about the Club. There are four food services every day, and with the exception of lunch (unless you get creative) you could probably just eat all your meals in the club and never eat anywhere else. Food is now served by the staff instead of buffet style due to COVID, but honestly I prefer this. Breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels/muffins/pastries, smoked salmon, fruit, juices. Gourmet tea and coffee available all day long. The scones at tea time rival anything I’ve had in London, and the appetizers were often more than enough for us to make a meal out of in the evening. As far as beverages, it’s an incredible value to get anything, and I do mean anything, all day long. Full refrigerator of bottled water, still and sparkling, and sodas to help yourself. Full cocktail service. Beer, wine. Literally anything you can think of they will bring you. Plus, you can have this while sitting on the Club, “to go” in a plastic cup to take to the pool (or wherever) or on a tray to take back to your room. Trust me, this is a big value. But the best thing about the Club is the people. These folks are true professionals. They are so personable and really make you feel at ease. Nothing is too much trouble. Most of the time they think of what you need before you do! Thank you to Pat, Kimberly, Jiji, Rowena, Charis, Margaret, Shauna, and anyone else I may have forgotten! The hotel seemed really busy on Memorial Day weekend, but we hardly noticed because the Club floor never feels packed. I booked months ago before prices went up....as to whether it’s “worth it” for the price, I suspect that will depend on the time of the year of your visit and what kind of deal you can get at the time. For us it was really special and worth it.
